Quote from danowat :Do you have the CD?........wonder if there is any chance of getting it in mp3 format.......

No, it's not out yet, released on the 22nd or something, it's just a listing on various Japanese game OST websites

Quote from danowat :Moon over castle is THE definiative GT tune, and it seems its not in GT5

In the GT5 soundtrack CD that showed up yesterday, there is a GT5 version of it. It's probably from the Japanese version GT5 intro

Quote from legoflamb :Does anybody know the composer of GT5 P's lounge music?

Invisible barriers exist richard burns rally, but they are at least far enough from the track to not be noticable. Those better not be in GT6 or they should be well hidden.

There are 180+ songs in GT5, so I guess various artists
Even in Prologue there was a different artist for every song

Telemetry makes it way back into GT5! Looks like you can load another ghost lap to compare. Time trial leaderboards just got more interesting

Impressions of a friend of that guy that made the report further up - He has a Fanatec, so they'll get around to testing it soon

Quote :
I have been to Amar's place to check GT5, unfortunately i had only one hour. He's been showing me menu and everything around GT life, all the options, music, and i must say it's brilliantly executed.

Now regarding standard cars, if the game shipped with only standard cars, i would have been very happy, cause they are, in game, racing, on par with other racing game, which name i want say. Only thing that is missing is cockpit view.

Sound of the cars is excellent, especially on 5.1 surround system that Amar has. There is enough dept in the basses and it's very clearm, it gave me goose bumps (not sure if this is right word)

We have been through course maker, and the possibilities are endless. One feature that i liked most is demo drive, where game creates track and AI is driving the car you what to demo drive. I could have set there for hours and enjoy the sounds of the car, scenery and just relax with a six pack beside me :-).

I drove one race in Masserati GT-S, and the feeling of the physics on the wheel is much improved over Prologue or TT (all assists off, abs on 1).
Drifters will enjoy this very much, it's so controllable with the wheel, but if you over do it, it want forgive you. It much refined to feel when the tyres are losing grip.

AI's behavior is really improved, it's almost if AI is using the same assists that player is using, or should I say AI is not using assists. I have seen AI over doing it on breaking and trying to accelerate as soon as possible, resulting in losing control of the car. This was played in Arcade mode, professional settings, assist off.

Online wasn't available so we couldn't test this.

Unfortunately, since i came straight from work to Amar, we couldn't test my Turbo S with CSP pedals :-(. I was so eager to see what took them 5 years to develop, and i was so pleasantly surprised, as i am sure all of you will be.

In that time that i was there, i couldn't help thinking, 24th can't come soon enough. I am tempted to buy 2 copies of GT5, just in case if something happens to 1st one.

This game will stay in my ps3 for a long, long time.

Gonna need to do the licenses as well if you want to be able to host 16 player races
National B. Shouldn't be hard or take too long with a man of your abilities

I have 2 PSN accounts, so I guess I can't copy from one profile to the other, I hope not. I hope it's just locked to the PS3, and not accounts. Otherwise it's a pain, as I have amost of my friends on 1 account, which is not my main one

edit - Boris go download a Prologue save file, so you can have all those cars from Prologue unlocked in Arcade mode
Thats' about 60-70 premium cars plus the Ferrari F1

Quote :I drive with G25.

Clutch users, rejoyce! Clutch works, same style as GT5:Prologue, no official support, you still have to press triangle before the race, but the beauty is here.

Physics are fantastic. In the line somewhere between cruelty of Academy TT Demo and Prologue. My first ride was Trial Mountain with F40, S1 tyres, all aids OFF (ABS on 1), Professional setting. I spun on lap 2, went into Pause Menu and found out about new addition in Quick Options - Interior View Angle.

Now we can adjust view angle to Standard, Narrow and Narrower.

Quote from Boris Lozac :That to me sounds simplified, since he obviously thinks TT demo was too 'cruel'.

The tyre model was off in the TT, you have to admit. It's more progressive now when I played the demo, and weight shift under braking actually does something. It feels more connected to the road, especially when you start sliding. In the TT it kinda felt too slick when you started to drift - strange feeling, but you could steer with the throttle, not many games get this part right

Anyway, get the tuned 370z and take it on Indy road course and see how it compares

What the B-Spec driver profile it looks like. It was on an Arabic picture site. Apparently GT5 is being sold in Dubai already

Also damage is more apparent in the retail version vs the leaked one. No paint scuffs?
There is mechanical damage as well

Yes, and EVO Magazine said the demo they played had realistic crash damage, so I figured something was up, as I'm sure EVO know what realistic damage is

Pic from the so called Leaked versions - hmmmm
Could be a cut down demo/preview/beta version.... might explain the weak damage, because there was a note from PD with some versions that explains the full damage system is not in place

This might be the issue with G27

Quote :
My understanding of what was quoted and the current situation is as follows:

- It is a fact that for GT5 Prologue, the paddle shifters and the clutch work on the G25, and for the G27 the paddles do NOT work but the clutch does. So, both have functional clutches.

- It is a fact that the button assignment for the G25 and G27 took place under the DFP menu in GT5 Prologue.

- It is a fact that for the later-released GT5 Academy TT at Indianapolis in the 370Z, the paddles on the G27 worked. For this demo TT the clutch was disabled for G25 and G27. Button assignment for G25 and G27 still took place under the DFP menu.

- It is a fact that through certain modifications, in GT5P with the use of the G25 (and I assume the G27) there was a way to flat-shift using the clutch. This is most obvious in the online time trial leaderboards from users |_|AmiR|_| and |_|UfuK|_| who modified their equipment to allow shifting up without the loss of any power, hence massively better time trial times. This was also possible in races. This in my opinion, is the unfair advantage that they are referring to.

- In the first GT Academy, clutch use was allowed. In the GT5 Academy TT the clutch was disabled, possibly due to the above advantage the modification brings to the G25/27 user's upshifting.

My interpretation is that as a result of this modification's massive advantage over other wheels in regards to the G25 and G27, Polyphony Digital cannot "Officially" support these wheels as Logitech have not created firmware to eliminate the advantage of this modification. I therefore believe that you will still be able to use your clutch on your G25 and G27 in Gran Turismo 5, and maybe the modification to allow flatshifting will still work.

However, if PD go so far as to actually completely disable the clutch for G25, and you have purchased a G27 or G25, the paddles will still work, the pedals and build quality will still be superior to that of a DFGT.

It's my opinion that the clutch will work in GT5, they just cannot officially support the wheels due to the unfair advantage of the modification.

All the best
Maz

G27 users, start to worry now

The demo units in the Taiwanese GT5 event all had G27, so they work fine on a basic level at least.
I did plan to get a G27 to use alongside my DFGT, but now I may grab a G25 to be safe, or get better aftermarket pedals for the DFGT

Quote :I know that the clutch was disabled for the Indy Time Trial. When I asked Kaz's Interpreter about the functionality of the G27 in GT5 last Wednesday at the GT Awards Party, I was told " The G27 will not be Fully Supported, but the DFGT will". Now what exactly that means is not clear to me. The Paddles did work on the Indy TT as well as the shift lights, for whatever that is worth. I would not be surprised if the clutch was not supported on the G27, but I do not know.

When talking with the highest levels of Polyphony Digital, they did indeed confirm that the fault for the G27 not being fully supported lies with Logitech. Logitech failed to code certain things with the G27 firmware that PD required, so it will only be partially supported. I too have a brand new G27, so I am in the same exact postion as every other G27 owner. I am a huge Logitech fan, but PD said that there were issues that gave the G27 an unfair advantage, whatever that refers to. I am just relaying info that I got from Kaz's interpreter. That's the most accurate and believeable info for me.

All I know about the Firmware issues are directly from the highest levels of Polyphony Digital. When I was asking them at the GT Awards Show about the G27, Taka told me:

" When we tested the G27, it had some functionality in the shifting process that gave it an unfair advantage over other peripherals. You were able to shift the G27 without losing any speed/ power. We repeated worked with Logitech to remedy this, but Logitech refused to alter their Firmware to our standards. Therefore the G27 will not be fully supported in G27"

I too, do not fully understand exactly what this means. I am just giving you the exact words, from Kaz's interpreter. That is the highest level of PD , as far as I am concerned. You cannot get any more direct info than this, in my opinion.

It is unclear to me if the paddle shifters will work or not. I certainly hope so, as I bought a new G27, and have been waiting to use it, like many others. I am hoping that the lack of full support is just having to do with the clutch function.

Boris this is the only video where I know the person is using a wheel and most of the aids off, but I can see on the HUD traction control is on, and ABS is most probably set to 1 out of 10.

I can hear his DFGT wheel whirring. It's a license test
