Quote from Sawyer :what do the drivers use for playing the game as well.

well, i'm using a trusty old Sony Trinitron Multiscan 17" CRT monitor built i think in about 1997. works a treat, no dramas at all and fantastic refresh rates at higher res.

although i might upgrade to some sort of lcd sooner rather than later.

Would you rather pay $90-100 for any other PC racing game?

Quote from phillip :Does and one have a voucher code for s1 or s2 liscence im new here and the demo is boring but it wont allow me to buy the s1 or s2 license

"it"? "it" wont allow you? what do you mean?

if your really a cheapskate, keep your eyes on the forum, sometimes players get generous and give out licence vouchers.

i dont know how you find the demo boring, i was a demo player for about two years before i got my s2 licence the day s2 was released.

Quote from squidhead :it doesnt let you render in 2x speed, does it?

Render in realtime or when final rendering is done? I'm not 100% sure actually because I haven't gotten to the final rendering stage of my first attempt of a movie using Vegas.

I do know that it attempts to render the faster playback speed in realtime, but often my pc cant keep up and its choppy in the preview.

I am assuming you mean the playback speed? If so, right click on the clip, select Properties and in there somewhere is the playback speed multiplier. Change it to go slower, faster or in reverse. Very simple.

Still get banned cos hacking the game is against the EULA and T&C for using it.

They wouldn't go on it anyways, cos most hackers want to show off and somehow expect to get praised for their work.

Quote from Zachary Zoomy :Is this video loud enough? I recorded it on a higher volume. fraps seems to record sound at a low volume. what can I do about that

Check fraps and see what it says for "sound input". It will probably be something like stereo mixer or something like that. then go to control panel, sounds and audio devices. click on the audio tab. halfway down is the recording device. click on "volume". check the level of the leftmost slider, you will probably find it down low, slide it up a few notches. it is probably labelled, recording, or stereo mixer or something, but it is usually the leftmost slider.

I had the opposite problem, fraps clips would be so loud, it would just distort and clip like crazy on playback.

I'm going for B at fault here. I was going to go for racing incident, but on replaying the video, i watched driver b's incar shot again, and you can clearly see driver a is IN FRONT of driver b at the corner without even having to use the look buttons, yet he still turns in sharply.

there wasn't even a question of whether "a" got his nose up to the a pillar of "B" of anything, "a" had half his car in front of "b".

and you gotta love those conversations after that dont ya?

Nice effort there, my only comment would be to decrease the FOV degrees a few notches as the picture appears stretched and out of proportion a few times. Use small FOV to get good close up drifting shots, and fiddle with the custom view to get some in/on-car shots too.

Just a quick one here. I dont know if this is actually a problem or not but when i get my fraps recorded file and do the vdub fps conversion uncompressed, the resultant playback is very choppy. Is this because playing back uncompressed files is hard on the PC? Also, the speed doesn't seem to increase at all (from recording 0.5 replays to normal speed with fps conversion).

When I vdub it and compress it with xvid tho, the playback is smooth and the speed increases.

If I use the uncompressed file still, will it be ok when rendered in the final movie with vegas? I'll have to try it I suppose, but I'm very tired tonight.....

Quote from dawesdust_12 :What the hell do you think Stage6 installs to play DivX, I can sure as hell say it doesn't install Furry Pandas.

It doesn't? Awww nuts........... :uglyhamme

Nice vid though, nice to see a car not used often in vids and in a different environment.

Quote from sam1600 :Yes.

Do you have any other brain-busters for me?

You must have missed the bit about him buying the vouchers again.

Plus, to be completely technical, he was under no obligation whatsoever. The "competition" was not official, not run under government supervision so he could have done what he felt like.

If there was an unforseen problem and his payments got reversed, yet some people were harassing him, he was justified in feeling the way he did. End of story.

I just want to say, in case this question has not been answered in any of the posts above, that this is in fact supposed to happen.

Its not a fault, its a feature. I dont think that was mentioned.

V8 Supercar - Complete and utter madness in good looking cars.

Naaah, add your DTM description to the V8's and thats what you got. V8SC absolutely rule.

I watch just about everything my TV picks up on motorsport, but dont get into the bikes too much, except MotoGP now that Casey Stoner is kicking ass!!

Quote from DeadWolfBones :This is true, but sometimes doing that is just as dangerous. It's a very fine line.

That's pretty true, you can end up turning a little too far and even though you might end up back on four wheels, you might find yourself heading toward the fence at a rate of knots.

Generally speaking, if you think you are going to flip, lift off the throttle, and release some of your steering lock. If your driving with a locked diff, it is possible to keep the boot in and drive it on two wheels if you hit the right balance point and can manage to keep it there.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Eh? Why?

NASCAR brought in the rule that when a caution (yellow flag) comes out, the first guy who is a lap down, gets to pass the leaders under yellow and get back on the lead lap. It was brought in when NASCAR banned racing to the start/finish line when a yellow came out. Previously, when a yellow came out, you could still race and pass others until you crossed the start line when you had to slow down.

A very near miss of two cars at super high speed brought this on (a guy had spun on the front straight, was stationary, yellows came out, cars still racing to the line, one guy pulled out of a draft to try and pass before the line and almost smacked head on into the stationary car - was a matter of "that" much). Now, as soon as yellow flags are displayed, racing is suspended immediately (no passing, slow down) and the "lucky dog" gets a lap back for free.

Quote from Shotglass :which is not in any way true for dtm today

I'm not sure what DTM consists of these days, but what I meant was that this sort of "touring" car racing class is basically a full blown race car which has been modelled off a road going car. The only thing similar between the two might be the fact that they have four wheels, but you get my drift......................... dont you?
Damo74
S2 licensed
A "touring" car is just that, a "touring" car. The BTCC, DTM & V8 supercars are not touring cars, they are race cars, based off a "touring" car.

"Touring" means driving along the road in comfort with people along for the ride. The use of the word "touring" in race classes i think is purely an indication that the cars that are racing are based off their road going counterparts.

You don't need big wings on the road car class vehicles. The little sports wings are more than enough. Hell I've got a XRT style rear spoiler on my Holden Commodore, its plenty enough. I don't need no GT style mega-airplane wing to keep me on the road at 50km/h (our local speedlimit in residential area).

Must admit though, the FXO in S1 looked sexy, but with the advent of the GTR class in S2, it was only sensible to tone down the look a tad.
