Yeah jack is right...

Whats with the sudden obsession of gaming laptops?

Much better off having a decent desktop rig and a mid range laptop.

Quote from Jakg :
I'm don't know how much the server costs (or if i should mention how it's funded), but i know Fusion Dan (DANDAMAN05) has a server of a lower spec in the same datacentre (might even be in the same rack) and pays something in the region of £90 a month for it.

Indeed i do.

Intel P4 3.2ghz HT
2GB RAM
120GB HDD (upgrading soon)

My box is hosted by the same company as the UKCT box and would probs be next to each other on a rack.

I pay £70 per month for it. Which is funded by me turing up to college when im supposed to :P and also private donators.

There are far better servers out there of course... but this box im renting is just enough for what i want... for now.

Demo Server hack?

Today i was looking on the demo server list in-game, to have a look for my fusion servers. However one of the servers appears to have 32 slots? I though the demo was limited to something like 14-15 right?

Screenshot attached.

What firewall are you using?

The correct ports WONT be open, or you already have a server using the same port.

Oh the fun! :P you have no idea how long / how many attempts that took for us to pull that off
Request - Web dedi admin

Hey there folks. I'm just wondering whether anyone has a web admin script to control LFS servers via the net. Like what franky uses over at 500servers.

If not i will attempt to have a go myself with my new endevour to learn to write PHP.

Thanks
Dan.

Totally disagree. F9 and F10 menu's are essential. We need to improve the racing in LFS... not add to the chaos .. but that is beside my point.

Having that option would screw us MOE drivers over good and propper... (providing that it is included and MOE decide to use it). Looking at the F9+10 menu is paramount in Endurance racing because of tyre wear. If it was used in small sprint races.. like the 5-10 lappers, then yea there wouldnt be much of an issue, however with a team of drivers, all using the same car, and therefore the same set, tyre wear will be different for each person. Basically we wouldnt be able to predict when the tyres need changing for each driver as we all have different driving styles.. some more agressive than others.

Just my 2 cents.

Quote from Jakg :AFAIK Hibernate takes just as long to shut down as as an ordinary Shut-Down, and then takes Just as long to boot - little gain imo.

i'd have to disagree with that one jack. It may depend on the PC. AFAIK all data stored in ram gets written to the hard disk when hibernated, however on starting up it mearly loads all that data back into RAM. the point im making is that for me, it is far quicker to hibernate and start up rather than shut-down and standard boot.

May depend on the PC... But for me its definatly quicker.
