Quote from Cornys :If they did that people would die due to speeds, and there would be terrable racing to boot lol. Imagine if they used NASCAR Stock car motors that produced 850 Horse Power opposed to the 650 (I think) that they are pulling as it is. They could super charge those engines as well you know.

Nascar engines are putting out about 800 horsepower, actually roughly the same as an F1 engine, though obviously the delivery is totally different.

I am on Be Unlimited, which is awesome and actually is unlimited. No throttling, no usage caps and fast, stable speeds and low pings. It's perfect.

It really doesn't cancel out the feel from the tyres, at all.

It feels spot on to me, I can feel exactly what the car is doing. Of course it's bumpy, we are all used to sims with glass roads.

Try iRacing with somewhere around 107% in the Profiler and 10 in-game, it really sounds like you have it turned up way too high. I have tried it turned up, and pretty much all you can feel is bumps, but when it's setup properly it feels fantastic.

Quote from tinvek :hope you do well, i'll be watching so your doomed, be nice to see how the car looks

Yeah, it's my first time in a broadcast race so I'l probably **** up, but I won the practice race comfortably and have been getting faster since then, so I should be in with a shot.

You'll be able to spot my car a mile away, it's bright blue and red with a massive Scotland flag on the bonnet .

You should all watch the 2.4 Hours of Spa this saturday night, 10pm GMT. Going to be a good race, it has a full 40 strength field of Corvette GT1s and Radical SR8s, and I should be putting up a good fight in the SR8 class.

Will be broadcast on webracingnetwork.com .

Seems very strange that this is being developed in the UK but will only be sold in the US.

It's pretty normal, although I have no experience with Focus', Vauxhalls are notorious for the handbrake sticking on, and it makes the same kinda rumbling sound for the first couple of minutes and then goes away. I wouldn't worry about it, if it's had new shoes recently it's not a problem.

As far as I know, they wanted to reduce the speeds to about 190-195, anything more than that and the cars start flipping.

Quote from Swiss-Spirit :Getting there, both SR's now over 3.5. I'll try boosting them to 4.

Street Stock's not bad either, if you forget that you'll get dizzy going round while turning left all the time

In my last race, something exploded. It might have been the engine... Maybe I should have used 5th gear more often...

If you get a bit of damage on the front of the SS, it sometimes makes it blow up. Keep an eye on your water temps, if they are getting really high back off a bit.

Just a small thing, nothing really important, I was just scunnered with it being completely ignored, I seem to have got Shannon Whitmore's attention so it should get sorted.

I probably shouldn't have compared them to trained monkeys, it does just seem like I've been unlucky.

Quote from atledreier :If your emails are written this way I can see why they are ignored, to be honest....

Yeah, obviously I would swear in an e-mail to support, get a grip.

My E-mails are well written, polite, everything is spelled correctly and they are well thought-out, but they just keep getting ignored.

Yeah the US hours are a bit of a pain in the arse, but not replying to an e-mail from the 8th of december is a little more than a bit of a time gap.

IRacing support are doing my head in, they are just completely ignoring any e-mails I send, haven't received a reply at all, and now I'm going to have to phone up, which will cost a fucking fortune, just to get them to do something that a fucking trained monkey could do.

Really good way to treat customers, fucking idiots.

Quote from UncleBenny :

Two of my favorite road courses (Suzuka and Interlagos) coming in the same year.

I agree, with Spa thats 3 of my favourite tracks and 3 of the great tracks F1 goes to, couldn't ask for a better selection.

No tyre model in the next build though, so it looks like I'll stick with the Truck.

To explain, iRacing TV Ep 7 is out, includes details of an LMP2 car, Interlagos, Sprint car, F-Mod sound thing and the ability to repair damage in a pit-stop.

Quote from legoflamb :The fan on the wheel is a nice idea, but the G25 makes enough noise as it is. The noise, on top of the sound made by my computer, would be ridiculous.

USB is only giving it 5V so it's not running at full power, but I can't actually hear the fan spinning even if I put my ear up to it . I also opened up the vents on the back of the G25, for some reason they have went to the effort of making vents and then blocked them off so stock the G25 has 0 cooling, no wonder it gets absolutely roasting.

Quote from LSDBlackWolf :Formula GT races almost fried my G27, specially at Monaco...
is there a way to effectively lower FFB for other wheels rather than the "GT" ones in this game? I set FFB to 1 and it's still hard as hell! ffs, i could almost fry an egg with my wheel lol, and i swear i felt some burning smell coming out of it...had to switch to gamepad for a while before it got on fire! im laughing now but i didn't back then...

i wish logitech would have a built in system like the fanatec one where u can manually set the ffb...

Another -1 point...that bloody car is not sellable...its hard to get 15M

I had a similar problem, although not with GT5, and I fixed it by drilling a 3" hole in the top and screwing on an 80mm fan wired up to USB for power, piece of piss and means my G25 is nice and cool

I'm useless in the Trucks at Texas, my setup either has a ridiculous push or is so loose that I spin almost every lap, and no amount of tweaking I have done can change it to something in the middle. Great fun though, just not quite as fun as Michigan. I'm desperate to get a win in the Trucks, once I get 1 I should start getting more.

Quote from bbman :Also not true... The centerpoint of the car needs to be off the "racing surface" to get you a x1... You could have all four wheels on either kerb or tarmac, if the centerpoint is off you get an incident... You can test that with every suddenly ending kerb...

Thats exactly what he said?

As far as I know, once you have 100% of content, if any more content gets released you buy it at 25% off, which isn't too bad. Pity I don't have 200 quid lying about.

Quote from racer hero :Well considering when I make my own setups I'm one of the fastest every week, I'm pretty sure it's not the setups.

Road: A 4.41 with 4914 iRating
Oval: A 4.99 with 5208 iRating

Thank you, come again.

BTW, anyone see this? http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/1363915.page
LOL

Will your head fit through the door on the way out? I am fully aware who you are and how fast you are, which is why I posted a light hearted bit of sarcasm, but posting your stats just makes you look like an arrogant wank.

Quote from racer hero :Setups make more of a difference in iRacing then in any other sim. And most of the ones on the forum are a second or two off.

Setups are quite important, but most of the setups posted are brilliant, definitely nowhere near 2 seconds a lap off of the best times, maybe it's not the setup?
