the MX5 and the Street Stock are fixed setup to get you started, then the further up the classes you go the more setup options are available. There is a sharing setup function inside the sim, so in practice sessions and hosted sessions people will almost always share a setup if you ask them nicely, including a lot of the aliens.
The trucks are epic fun, just had my first race and managed to avoid a couple of wrecks and finish in the top 10, they are great fun to race
Going to start running either the Corvette or the Radical properly this week at the Glen, had a few races on Zandvoort the last couple of days but I was fed up of Zandy after I spent tons of time going round it in the Mazda, both the C6.R and the Radical are great aswell.
Swiss, it's pretty easy to fast-track up the classes, I only signed up to iRacing just over 3 weeks ago and I'm already Class B on the road side and Class C on the oval, if you get above SR 4.0 you automatically get promoted. With the road side, I got my SR up to 4 in the rookie class, then got it up to 4 again, still in the MX5, then once I was D 4.0 I raced the Mazda to get myself up to C, then B. I never fancied anything in D class, so just skipped it out. I'm only 2 or 3 races away from being class A now aswell, either in the F1 or the C6.R/Radical.
Just bought the Truck and a few tracks, can't wait to go racing with it, just need to get my SR up to 4. Also bought the C6.R and the Radical and a few more tracks, both are great fun.
It is really CPU bottlenecked, I put quite a big overclock on my Q6600 and RAM (I always overclock in winter anyway while it's colder, forgot to do it this year) and it nearly doubled my frame rates and got rid of the stuttering completely, Spa is fantastic now.
Apparently, going into the renderer.ini and changing "LODPct=100" to 200 - 300 helps a good bit, so its worth a try. Also try turning off the 'Far Terrain' option, should help another wee bit with only a tiny graphical quality drop.
Street stock is great fun, the fixed setup is a bit pushy, but you just have to use trail braking and lift off oversteer to get the car rotating through corner entry and use the power on exit. Dale jr posted a few setups that are great though, much better than the fixed.
Not really, but as soon as Spa is released I imagine there will be tons of public hosted sessions running Spa, with everybody who bought it driving in one of them because none of the series are running it for a couple of weeks.
Kid, I meant relative to the Oval cars, they need it much more than any other car. Yes, the road cars have their faults, but they are not even in the same league as the faults on the oval tyre model.
The general consensus is that the Class A, B and C oval cars will get the new tyre model in the new build (in 4 or 5 weeks I guess), then it will be phased onto the rest of the cars, simply because it's being developed on the Chevy Impala Class A and those 3 cars use the same tyre, so it's a piece of piss to chuck it out for them. Those are the cars that need it more than any other anyway, the road cars are fine and can wait.
I need to get myself out of the A Legend and into the truck soon or I think I'l lose the plot, it's full of absolutely braindead children and idiots with no race craft. Seriously, full of 12 - 14 year olds who think they are the best thing since sliced bread because their ****ing rich 'mom' bought him a kart which gives him the right to act like a retard who's better than everyone else. I'm sick of the social side of the legends, hopefully the trucks are better.
Rant over, going to buy the Mazda and Zandvoort shortly, partly for next week's 'Celtic' league race, and partly because i'm not far from SR 4.0 Class D on the road side and i'l be able to drive it soon, hopefully.
Also, the Street Stock car is being released on 23rd Dec, I can only assume Spa will be out the same day. Can't wait.
I think it's always hard for real drivers to have a good opinion on how 'realistic' sim games are, as coming from a race car with tons of feedback and feel to a sim with hardly any of that, it will always feel pretty rubbish to them.
The best opinions we can get are people who have raced on sims for years, are good at it and then go and jump into a race car (Huttu, for example). They will immediately be able to compare the sim to the car, without their judgement being clouded by the lack of feedback in a sim.
Wow, there is an example of what selective quoting can do. Here is the actual quote.
What about 9/11? "I'm constantly annoyed that people are distracted by false conspiracies such as 9/11, when all around we provide evidence of real conspiracies, for war or mass financial fraud."
By quoting what you did, you made it look like he was talking about 9/11 conspiracies. What he was actually talking about was something totally different.
Actually I know both of them, and how fast/slow they are. AroX would blow Dustin's doors off anyday, with no cheats. I'm positive he doesn't use them on iRacing, and hasn't on LFS in a long time. So stop your shit both of you.
So he did cheat on LFS before? And he coincidentally has a cheat program on his computer, which got him banned from iRacing?
Because being Class A automatically makes you an amazing driver? Even though his SR and iRating are shit, and you don't know if Dustin is good or bad, how can you make that comment?
Road, 88 starts, 12 wins.
Oval 80 starts, 7 wins.
Great record.
And no, I don't have cheat engine installed on my PC, because i'm not pathetic.
Just had a look there, think I might yeah. Was quite quick at LRP (59.3's a few times), should be a laugh.
I might actually get a chance to use my Mic, it's totally pointless most of the time, the Americans are idiots at understanding a (admittedly thick) Scottish accent.
Just bought the Williams and pre-ordered Spa, I just couldn't resist.
Got myself up to class D for both oval and road racing now and nearly at SR 4.0 again for both. I'm getting pretty regular wins in the MX5 and rookie legends and am now starting to win the odd Advanced Legends race aswell, so i'm not doing badly at all, not bad for my first week . Think i'm going to pick the Star Mazda and the Chevy Truck for Class C, the truck looks a lot of fun.
Currently, yes, but the way I understand this is that the other 150hp will be always available, essentially making the car 750hp, which is the same as the cars just now.
F1 cars feel kinda allright until you get up to speed, where it floats all over the track. It's terrible to drive. the Camaro is allright I suppose, but the same car is in Race On (i think), and the constant adverts in this game made me turn it off after 5 minutes and delete it.
