yeah, i bought Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 L II USM just before that rally - obviously i`d prefer 70-200/2.8 but that is SO expensive. Anyway, on a rally, i can live with prime 200mm - it`s about the most commonly used focal length for me.
what WAS amazing was the ride in that car that i was given - i was thinking "bah some group n production car, how fast can it be?" - but WOW, that was totally unbelievable as he went to the corners SO MUCH faster than you would imagine it was possible, braked SO LATE and the acceleration from the corners...best experience i`ve ever had.
too much work - both for the one who makes the site as well for the one who browses it - it`s just easiest to scroll down and see the pics at proper res
there was a skijump event in my town yesterday and being a bit bored, i decided to go and try to take some photos (have never taken photos of skijumps before) - weather wasnt good, but anyway, here is a few shots http://don.vn.cz/temp/repo/skijumps/
why are you the only one having these problems? from what i can remember, i have never been banned or kicked from any server (unless it was a test of something) and i`ve been playing lfs for 6 years
you should have there a "BULB" mode, which allows you to do practically infinite exposures...but you need a wired remote, which has "shutter lock" - because the exposure takes as long as you hold the shutter button....
as was already explained, to get blurry background you need to use technique called panning.
when you can get closer to the subject, using flash makes this a bit easier, as it lights the main subject but doesnt affect the background....it could be used on motocross, but i think it won`t work that well on rally - the car will have weird lighting and reflections all over it.
anyway, last night i did something what i wanted to do for a long time - uber long exposures. drove out of town and in the middle of nowhere did a 15 minute exposure - next time i need proper, stable tripod, longer exposure, less wind and perhaps drive even further from city lights
