No, the FXR and XRR both use a fully sequential gearbox. You can't use a shifter with these two cars (or any LFS sequential car). It's like this as that's the way real-life racecars are setup

I'm not sure on autoclutch, whether or not it lets you flatshift down through the gears. If it does it'll only fry the clutch anyway

Pff, I'd be impressed if it was >350km/h. If you're going to be a twat on public roads at least do it right

Maybe I'm missing something, but how exactly is it supposed to look even and non-stretched when you're using two different resolutions (especially with them having different aspect ratios too)?

It's been ages since I did that mission, but I _think_ you go right out the door of the room where you collect the package, you go straight until you reach the next room, then turn left into the big room. There's a barrel or something on the ground you can use to climb up on. It takes the police AGES to get there too

Quote from S14 DRIFT :I remember the "IT guys" at my old school would click "search" or "ok" or whatever, instead of hitting enter. What annoys me is that any one of us rather geeky kids could probably manage a small to medium size school network, more safely, more securely, more practically, and probably a damn sight more efficiently than these 'trained and qualified IT experts" could ever do.

I know, it physically pains me to see the way some of the hardware is treated. It's also possibly THE most unsecured network of any school, ever. I logged into one of the routers using the default linksys username and password (Admin/password), and was able to unWEP the wifi, giving public access to the school's entire server, which has private student info, disciplinary records, the works. I was going to show it to one of the IT guys (hey, my records are there too!), but I figured it'd be easier to fix it myself

Amazingly true We also have a server that takes up the size of a small car, yet does nothing other than the same as a couple of 20-port switches

Plus our crappy Dell school PCs have log off/restart/shutdown/sleep mapped to those key combos for some odd reason

I've been using PSP Disp lately for this. I can display any of my monitors, or any portion of them on the PSP, which I used to display my own app I made a while back. You can even use PSP Disp to set the PSP as a new monitor, so it isn't sharing with another. The display driver for PSP Disp doesn't work in Vista though, so Vista users will need a hardware emulation like I made (see pic), so that the PC thinks there's another monitor there, and then dedicate that to the PSP.

It's a lovely little app, it can use USB or WLAN (I've only tried USB though), and runs at a solid ~30FPS without affecting LFS framerates. The only problem with putting it on WLAN though, is that it will EAT batteries. I've also been using it for displaying WMP or MSN while gaming, and it can even use the PSP as a mouse

Also attached pics of my my app running on the PSP, unfortunatly my phone doesn't take pics too well at night, and I can't be arsed getting up to find a spotlight

If you're willing to use windowed-mode, you can make transparent .NET forms so that only the controls (in this case, overlays) stay on top. If you need full screen in LFS though, DirectX is the only way to do it that I know of

I was going to suggest that, but I think it's just her clipboard or something

I don't think it's a Vista problem either, I've run Vista and 7 with and without UAC on, and everytime LFS was fine. I do remember a problem before where someone put their PC into sleep and LFS locked itself again. Make sure that when you turn off that the PC is actually fully off (don't just push the power button, Vista has that mapped to sleep on some PCs by default)

Quote from hazaky :Doesnt matter, im bit sure that its via connection. If connection loses (windows shuts down or something) then the registration information is being deleted from registry.

LFS doesn't use the registry

First thing is to defrag. Then, if Windows still isn't showing enough shrinkage, boot into a GParted live CD. It'll let you shrink it down to any size though, so make sure you know exactly how much is used beforehand, and make sure to defrag before too.

I know, but hopefully it would be a bit harder for script kiddies than changing IP. Changing IP doesn't even need to have a PC turned on, just restart the router

I thought of getting one, but there's only one revolution each way on the G25 so there isn't much point...I'm considering getting one for my IRL car though, which seems to have over 9000 degrees when trying to park

No, I meant as in the LFS client reports the machine's MAC (whether that be the ethernet card or wireless adaptor) to the master server, as part of whatever packets it usually sends. The server shouldn't look for the client's MAC by IP or whatever, it should be reported and checked against a list.

I meant for LFS to ban by MAC, instead of username. MACs are easy to fake, but IPs are even easier. It could also only allow one client per MAC to connect to the master server, so you couldn't run 2 LFS clients on one machine, while still allowing those running on LANs to connect each machine to a server

What about banning MAC address' instead? They're a lot harder to change than IPs

Quote from Calzone :I actually agree with TS. Half of LFS is drifter, and there could easily be some improvements for drifting. You can't actually control high angle drifts because it has only 36 degrees of steering. IRL they have around 60 degrees. Also power upgrades could be done. Power upgrades are not NFS(like most grippers call it) and are done in real life too, also for grippers.

WTF is with "gripping". You'd think that everybody was a drifter by default and anybody who decided to utilse a car the way it was meant is different. There is no gripping. It's called racing From now on I'm going to call drifters "slippers" to see does it get annoying.
