Lol, i really don´t understand that "what insim has done to us (esp. cruise)" view. It´s so... you blame a recently invented game for holding people away from the game you like? Aren´t you talking about the way people spent their free time?

Imagine someone makes it possible to play chess in World of Warcraft. I don´t see why people who are not interested in chess would now start playing it in WoW. Still you would blame the game for keeping players away from raids... i don´t think anyone has some sort of right to tell people how they should spent their free time. you invent a game, those who like it will play it, those who don´t will play other games...

P.S. if you are looking for races longer then 10 laps, you should think about joining a league (as mentioned earlier). those races normally go at least 1 hour.

ha pfff wrong. S&G penalty is cleared as soon as you stood there for 10seconds, at the moment you accelerate again ... it´s just in the nature of a drivethrough, that it´s cleared at the exit of the pit lane.

lol @droemel & slogan - yeah, Dream Theater is definitely one of my personal top10bands of the century.. even if i listen to house music average 20hours per weekend

and actually yes, i AM running LFS in window mode. reason is, when i switch between windowed&fullscreen, it always screws up my anti-allallillallilalising settings, so i decided to keep it windowed - this way i can also easier change the LFS process priority to "higher then normal" in the task manager before i join any race, which provides me with smoother gaming (you know i´m too poor to buy a faster PC, that´s why i´m also using eMule instead of ... but shhh )

not sure how you got the idea that troy didnt finish .... maybe you saved the replay too early? or did he get a penalty after the race was finished from the officials?

anyway, he finished 12th in the actual race. Being like 100m in front of the leader, he had to do almost a whole lap after Schum finished, and on the screenshot you can see he wasnt even last to finish - speedwas was right behind him on 13th place and a few seconds after i took the screenshot polde finished 23rd...

but besides that, was a nice race, i enjoyed every second


edit: oh lol, now i see, there are 2 troys in the race results list, one finished12th and one DNF

i´ve seen this missing road quite often, it´s what you might see when you spectate someone who has a bad connection/high ping. for example a guy from chile, connected to a european server. either you give it some time (for some reason those connections are pretty bad for some minutes, but get better slowly, like from 5 seconds to 0.12 seconds ping within 15 minutes, dunno why - mysterious internet) or you just spec someone else.

don´t worry, i´m capable of logic thinking. still had o try ... acting logic is a bit different

hmm ok maybe u found a bug, maybe this is something for the "improvement suggestions" section couldnt try it out myself right now, guess when you´re alone on a server, "/midrace no" doesnt really have an effect .

copypasted from my x:\lfs\docs\commands.txt

"/vote=yes :no / yes : can guests vote to kick or ban"
"/midrace=yes X :no / yes (Join during race)"

first one is clear: it doesnt affect EVERY "vote", just the option to kick/ban

second may no be that clear ingame, cause when you´re ingame in the pit screen, it shows you 2 options: join or spec. but if you remember earlier versions of LFS, it may become clear: in pit screen, there was just an "OK" button, so when you were in car & pressed shift s, what made you leave the track to pit screen, you could only move back on track and could move on to spec from there. so i would explain it this way: there are 2 different states: spectator or not-spectator. if you leave the track to pit screen (using shift-q these days), you are not yet in spectator-mode, and may still get back on. but once you´re in "real" spec, which means you can see the track without your car being on it, then you can´t re-join as long as midrace is set to no. jumping to the pit screen does not make you a spectator....

the option choose whether you want to join or spec hasnt always been in the pit screen.

correct me if i´m wrong. and i HOPE this makes it clear

Lol @ this subject, i really don´t care about ppl wearing helmets or not... tbh, like 2 months ago i bought myself a nice Logitech MOMO and was so ... how to say ... euphoric, happy like a little child on christmas, that i thought to myself it´s time for some changes - so i threw away the helmet (yes, guilty me). well, few days later i reserved one profile in LFS which uses a helmet for the CTRA servers, and then i kinda forgot about it - until i read about it here.

Well, you might think it´s just spam i write here, but i´ll come to an end soon: although i think it doesnt really matter on public servers what you wear, in leagues/events it might be different imo. My team just joined BOTT, i was in the latest race (XFR@westhill) with no helmet, and i simply want to apologise for that. just in case womeone wanna make a video out of the replays, don´t pick my car. well, chances are rare that i´ll be in the video anyway, as i wasnt on server 1 ... not in the top ten ... alright, i didnt even finish , but still, my apoligy stands, and i´ll wear proper outfit in the next BOTT race which i´ll be part of again. that´s all


btw i´m 25, and maybe it happened because i just don´t like uniforms...

note to self: tell dad NOT to call me again at 0.15a.m. when i´m racing - for some reason it kicks me from the server when someone´s calling me. made my way up to lap 43, like driving on ice in the end, cause i didnt want to do a pit stop... and then this well, did anyone else manage to finish on R3s without tire change? just curious...
