You guys still cant argue against the fact that people can enjoy LFS however they want. And there's nothing you can do about it.
I could race online, offline, on a LAN. I could play for 10 hours a week or 30 minutes.
Hell, I could just launch it and stare at the menu screen if I wanted to.
What are you going to do about it?
For the record:
I still regularly enjoy LFS.
I've done waaay more online racing than my stats show.
Me and Macfox are sparring partners from way back.
I'm amused how some people here think they know it all about others, when they obviously don't know jack.
"A modern Formula One car will race around Australia’s fabled undulating circuit for the first time next week as part of the build-up to the Melbourne Grand Prix. V8 Supercars driver Craig Lowndes and 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button will both pilot a McLaren MP4-23 F1 racer at Bathurst on Tuesday 22nd March, covering several laps before switching to a Commodore touring car."
Sure. I've listed some of your baseless assumptions below, and I'll look forward to seeing your no doubt, inane response as to where you got your info from.
I'll even give you the last say, so that this thread can be released to the rest of the forum users.
See ya...
Some of the baseless assumptions made by Dadge:
That I think the current LFS version is unplayable.
That I blame LFS for my current lack of sim activity.
That I blame LFS for my unwillingness to compromise and play something else while I wait.
That I am or aren't interested in the BF1 and FBM.
That I will still be bored when the patch is released.
I have no idea what you're getting at.
Why can't I be bored of LFS's current content, yet still like it?
Why have you made another baseless assumption that I'll be bored after the patch is released.
You're boring me though.
The problem with your arguement is that you've made a bunch of baseless assumptions about me. How do you know how long the FBM or BF1 kept me interested for. You don't even know if they interest me at all?
I haven't contradicted myself at all.
Either you don't know what contradiction means, or you still don't understand (yet you still rant).
The physics update and more content will rekindle my interest. What doesn't make sense exactly?
Where did I say this version is unplayable?
I not blaming anyone for anything. I'm not even complaining about anything.
I'm a huge fan of LFS, who's just waiting for the updates before I get back in to it.
You should make sure you understand what you read before you rant about it.
You just blurted out a list. Where did he say he was looking for an alternative sim?
I am in the same place as the OP.
LFS is far and away the best sim for my wants and needs. The alternatives aren't suitable, so I'm not sim racing at the moment while I wait for the patch.
There's an important difference between speculation and a baseless assumption. The difference is further magnified when context is taken in to account. Go and look up those words and you'll have learnt something today.
At this point, I feel a bit sorry for Scawen having to be the sole public face of development.
Scawen's focus is clearly on tyre physics, and I belive he's conveyed the current situation very well in this regard.
Putting all past events aside for the moment, I'd personally love to hear from Eric and get some info on what's being developed content-wise. No promises or timelines or even necessarily screenshots.
I'm happy to wait for however long it takes, but just some info on content would be awesome, and I feel would appease some of the more vocal moaners.
I had a think about why they haven't done this.
Any videos or screenies would render all fanboys (and maybe some fanboys posing as moaners) moist as hell. Seems like a no brainer.
The only reason I could come up with as to why they haven't, is this:
Absolutely.
I reckon S2 was awesome value when I purchased it more than 5 years ago, and is considerably improved now. This is my opinion totally regardless of what may or may not happen in the future.
There maybe some valid points to criticise LFS on, but 'poor value' has never been one of them. When you compare it's price to the average mass distributed PC or console game, it's fantastic value. I've never understood why people (especially people from western economies) think otherwise.
