I saw Senna's last F1 victory at Adelaide in 1993. Obviously, I didn't realise at the time.
He was visibly faster than all other drivers in the corner I was sitting at.
My main hope for GTAV is that they keep trying to make the game more realistic.
Realism in terms of physics; soft body cars, realistic car damage and handling. Character's momentum, ragdoll & animations. Getting shot in the foot makes you limp... And realistic objects that have realistig weight and penetration attributes. i.e trash cans, bottles and the like.
Also reaslism in terms of how the AI reacts to events. I hope they continue to improve things like traffic flow, what people do when attacked, when people see other people attacked etc. How the police work. Even traffic infringements. Pulled over for speeding? Bring it on, I say!
They're not going to be able to do all these things on the current gen of consoles obviously, but I hope that's what they're working towards.
I'd be devastated if Rockstar ever went the 'arcadey and over the top path'. We have Saints Row for that.
I made a quick vid detailing the soft body physics in this game.
I think the physics are impressive, and can't wait to see this sort of thing implemented in other games.
It's not perfect, but neither is a real life broadcast - so I'd actually prefer a few imperfections, and for it not always immediately cut over to every off or accident.
I liked that you included in-car crosses.
There are some obvious things to fix that have already been mentioned, like lingering on the crashed TBO. Sort those things, and it's a winner.
There are lots of little graphical touches like you've described that would be nice to have.
Many people quickly write them off as 'eye candy' which I think is wrong, because they add to 'immersion', which in the end, is a simulators main goal.
Having said this, I think LFS has other priorities at the moment, and it's quite clear that the Devs have been working on other things - namely tyre physics and content.
In all, I think more manufacturers is a good thing for the sport. Also , it might finally sink in to some of the aforementioned bogans that the cars are all exactly the same, and being a 45 year old Ford/Holden fanboy is actually very strange.
PS - Chrysler also rumoured to be entering a 300c (...shaped car that's exactly the same as the others)
Just wish that the devs would share their ideas and experiences a bit more - Eric in particular - so that we could go along for the ride with them, so to speak.
They shouldn't worry about the small minority of vocal haters venting their spleens. This is the internet, after all. Most of the community understand this, and factor it.
It's great news, and very interesting to learn that all 3 devs are still working on LFS as their full time job.
However this fact makes it more perplexing that relatively minor graphical improvements (like higher res interiors) haven't been released after all this time. There must be a reason for this.
Perhaps there are bigger changes being worked on, like a complete overhaul of the graphics engine, that will be released along with the new interiors?
The poll needs a 'T'would be nice, but not before other things are done' option
It also needs a 'Pointless poll about an idea that's as old as LFS itself' warning.
So, I voted no as my contribution to distorting the results.
Here's a different view that provides some insight in to the performance of the marshals. Everyone seemed to move reasonably quickly - but without being there, I'm not going to make judgement either way.
There's not necessarily anything wrong with having an inquiry though. As long as the goal is to make improvements for next time, rather than just being a finger pointing exercise.
Yep that was a terrifying accident. Watching it live, my initial thoughts were that they were both either dead or very badly burned. Fortunately, I was wrong.
Nice sig btw . For the record everyone, I didn't say that this year...
