your right xenowolf, but as this thread started in the first post, it was my tonights dream...
new cars is not what we need in lfs until damage and aero model is sorted out. but i don't have anything against other tracks.... but that was told by 100 people in 100 threads since 100 moons...
i think the bad thing with gp4 was, you were not able to use other tracks then the default one. which made it a flop in my opinion... allthough i was a gp fan since gp1
there are trojans spreading around. since yesterday i've got several warnings by antivir. my trojan was/is?? called trojan.horst.xxx
i've used avira antivir which is free (search for the personal edition) and did not get any warning since the afternoon... looks like i am save again...
what you didn't have in mind is the controller support of the controller driver, which has to translate input into the gaming language i think you should at least do that test again with 3 or 4 more controller (also standard wheel)
as i know statistically results are significant when they have at least 30 measurements of the same experimen.
just some more inputs for this. that Vsync was interesting!
but overall it is an interesting experiment! keep up that work!
anyway you are welcome to the 360 laper final event of this series (with fxr) somtime in february (i am still not sure, because i will be in berlin during february, and the dates are not fixed for that) and of course for the whole second series with xrr (different ruleset also!) starting somtimes in march/april...
wasn't thequestion the oposite, like: noone is allowed or able to pit unless, the mod (pacecar) say: "#34car !pit" and then this car is allowed to pit and can pit ...
ok, of course its easier if the admin does that stuff, but then the admin just waits and sits and waits... and cannot race at all. just for the fact there is a need for a pacecar.
with a triggered pacecar, the admin can drive himself and triggers the pacecar whenever there are e.g. 3 or more individual "PACE-CAR REQUEST" msgs.
and if you only need it for the start to get a rolling start, then its more stupid to have a driver waiting and sitting the whole race ...
thats just stupid: its like: "my car nerver broke down the last 150.000km why should it brake down in the next 150.000km"
or like an 65 year old says: "i smoke since 35 years and did not have any problems, and died 2 years later of lung cancer"
you'll never know, jsut because you did not have a crash it does mean you will never have one. statistically it's quite the oposite around. as longer as you don't have a crash or accident, as likely you will have one...
noone has anything against the fact you are driving fast (who is not driving fast sometimes or makes a kickdown start with the guy next lane), but what if you kill someone else. a random kid running over the street after a ball, a guy getting out of a taxi not watching, or a woman bending over to get something from the road which she lost. did you ever think about that yourself?
if you harm yourself its your business, if you harm any other one (and not only those in the cars) you are into a shit load of trouble... and not only that legal stuff, could you look into a mirror seeing the face of a childmurderer just because you felt to overtake that guy who braked before the crossing...
don't race in public roads or where there could be the slightest chance of people running over the street... race online, be the best there but not on the streets man...
hmmm... so there is no chance for sitting on the couch plugged my laptop on tv and have a watch of a replay of a MoE, STCC, LFSCAR or random online race withouth working myself...
