Sorry, I missed your reply.

What happens if you just double-click FlipCams when LFS is not running? Does it give you any error dialog?

Sorry to read you're having problems with FlipCams, marzman. I'd need more info to be able to help you, though. You say that FlipCams crashes, but you don't say at which point. Does it happen when you try to switch cams from inside LFS?

Is that a question? The answer is obvious enough.

Click on Ethernet and drag it to the top of the list. Then set it to:

Configure: Using DHCP
DNS: type the addresses of the DNS servers to use

Ethernet should then show as Connected. If it doesn't, click on "Assist Me…".

The status menu item is only available for Airport and Bluetooth, I think. If you connect via Ethernet, you're connected permanently and you don't need a status menu.

You should be able to see the status of your connection in the left part of the Network pref pane, in System Preferences. From there you can add/remove and enable/disable connection methods (Airport, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Firewire) and reorder them by drag and drop. Once your Ethernet connection is set from there and working, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

I'm tempted to join the fun after the GFC race, if it's possible (do you run races or practice sessions?). And what config do you run? Tourist's?

Quote from Stang70Fastback :Just because the speed limit on a road is 25 mph, doesn't mean that the road shouldn't be relatively safe to drive on at 35... in fact - it would be ridiculously stupid if it was designed that way.

You're taking the problem the wrong way around. Ever thought that the speed limit might be there because the road is dangerous?

Thomas (Fanatec)

Thomas, any chance that you post pictures showing the insides of the wheel and pedals set? Some other wheels look good but are built in such a cheap way that things start to break or go wrong after six months. Some close-ups of key components would help us make an opinion.

Thank you! About CTRL+F9/CTRL+F10, it's a bug. That pair should have been there, but you're the first one who noticed that it is missing (or the first one who mentioned it to me). Thanks for that. It will be fixed in the next release.

I'm using Avast antivirus too, and it started only today to warn me about this trojan being found in FlipCams (and in every other AutoHotkey script I ever compiled). The trojan wasn't found in AutoHotkey itself nor in its dependencies, so I believe these alerts are due to some bogus information having entered Avast's database.

I downloaded the latest version of AutoHotkey, recompiled FlipCams with it, and Avast Antivirus no longer complains about it. So I'm releasing FlipCams 1.0.2, which is a new build but doesn't contain any other changes. You'll find it at the top of this thread.

Thanks again to Latanturle for having raised this issue.

What about that G25 mod that Logitech made for the BMW events where they used LFS too, BTW? I hoped they'd release it. Anyone heard anything about that?

Quote from TAYLOR-MANIA :Yeah, it's happened a few times before too. I cycled through the hotkeys and then the message appeared...

Hmm, that's quite odd! So you're left with 5 views_cam* folders and no views folder?

FlipCams installs nothing else than the scripts and the exe. I don't see what could cause the problem you're having, except maybe if Vista suddenly denied FlipCams the authorisation to rename a folder.

Well, it just happened again a few moments ago,

How did it happen? Are you saying that you got it working and then the problem came back?

Quote :I actually thought that the views folder was made during the LFS install, not your FL!Pcams, so that probably puzzled me!

The views folder is created by LFS. I first thought that it was part of the original installation, but I found out recently that LFS creates it only the first time you customize a view. LFS doesn't know about FlipCams. All it knows is that it has a views folder where it stores your custom settings.

FlipCams makes four copies of this views folder during its installation (the views_cam* folders), and works by renaming both the views folder and one of these copies each time you switch between FlipCam's cameras. So the next time LFS accesses its views folder, it actually doesn't access the same folder as before. But it doesn't know it.

I hope this helps.

Sorry about the confusion. FlipCam provides five views. That's four "views_cam*" folder plus one "views" folder. If you have five "views_cam*" folders plus one "views" folder, that's one too many.

In this case, just get rid of one of them and make sure there's one folder called "views".

As you've seen, by default (just after installing FlipCams) you have no "views_cam1" folder. That's because the current view's folder is always named "views" and by default the active cam is the first one.

This error is supposed to happen when you have the folders "views_cam1", "views_cam2", "views_cam3", "views_cam4" and "views_cam5" (that's 5 of them) in your data folder, and no "views" folder. Are you sure this isn't the case?

If this is the problem, the fix would be to rename one of the "views_cam*" folders into "views".

Nope, me too. But there's no hurry for that at that point. It's still a very early version.
