Boy, you have some guts! Who are you to demand an update that way?! I loved Pitspotter and I'm grateful to Kegetys for it, but if it's dead, it's dead. It's not like Kegetys owed you anything. And what are you gonna do if he ignores your so called petition? Hunt him and coerce him into coding an update or giving you the sources?
Showing your interest and demonstrating that you're not alone is one thing. Demanding an update to a freeware the way you do it is a remarkable lack of respect to its author! Frankly, you've demonstrated that you don't deserve an update.
The names in the Gap display disappear after some time.
The times in the Gap display aren't working during replays (not sure if it's intended or not, but it be cool if they worked).
As already mentioned, the split times get garbled.
Fuel isn't displayed during replays. Fine. But if it was displayed before, it's not cleared.
If you've ever hosted a game and defined an admin password, entering this password into InGame's config file doesn't work. I got alerts saying the passwords didn't match, and I had to remove the password completely to get it to work.
It says something in german each time a new session starts (no idea what it means).
And a couple of feature request:
It'd be great to have a hotkey to hide/display all InGame's buttons (for screenshots, etc).
The fuel is displayed in percentage. Could we also have the number of laps of fuel, like in the single seaters?
Can't wait for those bugs to be fixed! Keep up the good work!
The file structure looks good. What happens if you go on track, press T to get the text input, and type "/run fc_runCam1" (no quotes) and Return/Enter?
Update: I see that you seem to have several LFS installations (LFS S2 - Copy - Copy - Copy). Sorry for asking, but you're sure you run the right LFS.exe (the one in the installation where you put FlipCams, I mean)?
Go to Options > Game > CTRL+. You should see CTRL + F11 and CTRL + 12 set to /run fc_runCam5 and /run fc_runCam2. Is that the case?
Also you said that "/run fc_runCam1" is present in autoexec.lfs. It means that when you launch LFS you should see "FlipCams CAM1" displayed on the screen. Do you?
Thank you Scawen for listening to your users! I don't know anything more frustrating than sending bug reports or feature requests that are completely ignored. Here, all the bugs I reported have been fixed and my request for the /wait command has been implemented in a blink. I really appreciate that.
Also this is a great community indeed, but it's not because of us, it's because of you, Scavier. You guys make this all possible. So thanks a bunch for everything!
I was on CD2 this evening, and the level of racing was very good. It's great to be able to run half a lap side by side with another guy, knowing that he's not going to push you off in the next turn!
Some people have bad net connections, or may be without a connection for some time. In this case, it's either hotlapping or racing the AI. And racing the AI can quickly become a bit frustrating (huge understatement intended ).
Some weeks ago I had some great races at ConeDodgers, but the last times I tried, in the past few days, it was impossible to run a lap without being crashed twice.
I believe this is due to the recent release of patch X which has attracted to LFS many people who don't usually race. I'm sure in a few weeks they'll all get tired and return to their usual shoot 'em up, and we'll get good races again.
Maybe we should ask Scavier not to send the announcement emails when a new patch is released.
BTW, one thing I love in the new Safari (on Mac at least, as I still haven't tried it on Windows) is the ability to move the tabs around, or even move a tab out of the tabs bar to make a new window of it. Very handy.
You can right-click if you have a two buttons mouse, or you can ctrl-click if you have a one button mouse.
I haven't tried Safari on Windows yet, but I use it on Mac and find it much better than Opera/FireFox etc. And I have no problem with it, except for the occasional badly-coded site that doesn't work as expected.
Well, to be honest I didn't plan to release my own custom views, first because I have only made those for the cars I use (6 or 8 of them at the moment), and second because I saw these as user preferences, and of course everyone has their own preferences.
But you're right to point out that it's easy to share them, and I'll post some later (I'm at work at the moment). Maybe other peoples will be interested in sharing theirs too.
Mind to elaborate? I have no idea what that means.
Definitely +1 for adding these (formation lap and rolling start) as server options!
BTW, OWRL F1 used to do a formation lap on the first lap of the race, form the grid again, and start for good with an admin simulating the lights in the chatbox. That was great! But it's been dropped when X and its false start system was released.
It gives you 5 custom views instead of one. Other views are unaffected. So instead of 5 views (track, cockpit, custom, chase and heli) you now have 9 of them.
And the view that looks like the regular cockpit one in my screenshot is in fact a bit different (the camera is higher).
