Quote from matijapkc :If you don't want that shown, why do you even enter it when you don't have to?

he wants his age to show up instead of his birthdate
i.e. hide day and month

It's only possible by editing the layout and reloading it. But it's terribly laggy

You should include more info in such posts. For me the link works fine in Firefox...

Quote from Victor :IE and Chrome seem to have a mind of their own regarding launching applications from an url. FF and Opera leave the string to pass untouched while IE and Chrome do some sort of processing on them. During this process they think the 'url' is still an internet url so they apply some internet-url logic to it, like that it must end with a slash. But there cannot be a hash character before the first slash in a normal url, so then they decide to just insert a slash before the first hash. Host not found.
Also when IE encounters ' #' (space hash) it just strips the space. Again, host not found.
Chrome bogs down on certain characters in general and doesn't even run the url-associated program.
I can go on like this for a while.

sounds really odd... According to the msdn eben Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer handle such url's different. And thats why they also state "To avoid this issue, application protocol handlers and their associated URL scheme must not rely on encoding. If encoding is necessary, protocol handlers should use another type of encoding that is compatible with URL syntax, such as Base64 encoding" ^^

Quote from Victor :I replace # by ^h, a special LFS character as of z26
# gave immense problems when used in urls in IE, even if urlencoded. IE just urldecodes them again and then gets confused. So we replaced # with ^h. Unfortunately Chrome doesn't like ^ along with a lot of other characters. Not much we can do about that except invent a whole new urlencoding (which we won't).

btw, to know what I really send to your browser you must look at the source code. Do not rely on the info bar at the bottom of your browser.

Oh jeah right... with %23 it works in chrome and firefox but not in ie8...
Always the ie ...

Quote from Victor :The url registration works with all browsers. For some though you first have to confirm to allow use of the url protocol, but in those cases it should present you with the default of LFS.exe being used for lfs:// urls.

Chrome is quite bad in doing the url forwarding. It seems to not event attempt to run some hosts with certain characters and it doesn't matter if I urlencode these characters.
IE also has some problems with certain characters, like the bullet character and again it doesn't matter if i urlencode these characters.
We consider these bugs in the browsers.
FF and Opera work 100% as expected though.

Looks like chrome does not like your replacing of the #'s.
You replace the # by %5eh but shouldn't it be %23?

Worked fine.

But the installer has an translation mistake

German translation on the last wizard page:
"Deine Live for Speed installation in s:\Live for Speed wurde erfolgreich auf Version 0.5Z26 aktualisiert."

The i of installation must be a capital i.

Quote from Victor :
Furthermore I have done away with UAC by omitting the registry keys that make LFS appear in Add/Remove Programs. You will no longer be asked if the installer may acquire admin level access.

Also it's updated with a number of translation fixes.

Pff I hope this is good now

Nice

But I missed one mistake in the german translation. It's the same one which I already posted, but in the deinstallation dialog:
And on the very last page the title is in the wrong tense. It should be "Die Deinstallation von Live for Speed wurde abgeschlossen" which is coherent with the next sentence

Oh and when I start the UninstallLFS.exe windows 7 asks about admin rights. But the appliacation name in the popup is AU_.exe.

German translation is a bit mixed...

On the license agreement page the translator used three different words for "license agreement".
The red boxes on the image show these different words. I would suggest to replace the last marked word "Lizenzvereinbarungen" through "Lizenzbedingungen".

On the page where you select the shortcuts, I would replace the title "Links und Dateiverknüpfungen" through "Symbole und Dateiverknüpfungen" because "Links" is not used within the rest of the page

And on the very last page the title is in the wrong tense. It should be "Die Installation von Live for Speed wurde abgeschlossen" which is coherent with the next sentence

Quote from morpha :No DXTweak nor Profiler tweak, I can clearly see the axis bar move as expected, but the ingame clutch bar is different. It's not a calibration issue on my side either, I recalibrated to make sure.
See the attached screenshot. The axis is at roughly 65%, yet the clutch is still fully disengaged. The calibration is definitely over the full axis range.

The important part is indeed "Now go out on the track. This is important, as it only shows when you're actually in a car." from AndroidXP, because your car is probably standing still and the autoclutch is pressing the clutch. Disable autoclutch and it should even work when the car is standing (well you engine may die )

Quote from Gabkicks :If you look at the tech demos, games can be made to run from directx9-11. like with the uningine heaven benchmarks. If you dont have a dx9 graphics card by now, you probably shouldnt be playing lfs in the 1st place.

It looks like Windows 7 sales will be very high. and demand for the 5xxx series is high (though supply is low atm)

And what benefits does it have if a directx 8 game suddenly runs direct x 11?
