i know that some race cars have a fuel pressure gauge. but its basically worthless. when it starts reading low, if you aren't already headed down pit lane, its too late because you just ran out of fuel.

wow...that's a really wide wide screen. if my calculation is correct, that's a 16:6.4 aspect ratio. kind of an unusual size

no it doesn't. I've been racing at 1440x900 for months now. Typically get between 60fps and 130fps, depending on the track and the number of cars.

granted, this in on a straight up windows box, so LFS running on a mac might have issues, but that would be because of the Mac (which supports 1440x900, that's the res i run on my g5 also), or the Crossover app, not LFS.

And considering Macs support 1440x900, i'd guess that its a limitation with crossover. still, good to know that it does work, for the most part

i think next year sometime i'm going to start working on a project in java...only i don't know java. i'm pretty good with javascript, php, and coldfusion. In fact, the project is integrating an app that built with javascript into a pre-existing java app. so, my first task in this project is to find a reference book. only thing is, there are hundreds, if not thousands of books out there, and most of them probably suck (most tech books do).

so my question is...what java book would you recommend?

In the past, i liked the O'Rielly PHP book, but there are about 50 Java books by O'Rielly, so I can't even just go with the Java book by them. So, recommendations please

Yup, that game is incredibly difficult, but a lot of fun though. Also, its not just single player. the machines can be networked together for some multiplayer fun.

and at one point in time, i was quiet good at it from practicing on the DC (which was a very good port of the arcade game).

Last time i played it (a few months back), 2 of the 3 machines there had faulty brake pedals that would only give about 60% braking force. even then, i was still able to turn some good laps, although it was a bit of a surprise going into T1.

best part was, there were some annoying people hogging the machine all night (keeping me and a friend from hogging the machine all night ), and when a machine finally opened up, we would take turns whipping the other two guys around the track.

2004 Mazda RX-8 6-Speed. It's a blast to drive, even though it gets terrible fuel economy.

The updated version of my pubstats image script.

1. Extract the files & directories from the .zip file.

2. open inc/identKeys.php and additional users and their identkeys. set your identkey as the default. Generate your id key at http://www.lfsworld.net/?win=settings&whichTab=pubstat

3. If you are paying to use Premium Pubstats, change line 15 of LFS_online_check.php to 1

4. create your custom graphics from the template files in the "images" directory and save those as "lfs_check_online#.png" & lfs_check_offline#.png" in the "images" folder. Start the numbering at 1 and don't put any files except for the template graphics in this directory.

5. Upload all the files and directories to your online host.

6. change the permissons of the cache folder to 777.

7. .htaccess

A. No .htaccess file already in the public_html directory
Move the supplied .htaccess file to the public_html directory.

B. There is a .htaccess file already in the public_html directory
Do NOT overwrite the existing .htaccess file
Open the supplied .htaccess file and copy the code.
Now open the existing .htaccess file in th public_html directory and paste the code.
Make sure there is only one line in the file that has "RewriteEngine on"
Group all lines that start with "RewriteRule" together

i don't know. what kind of stuff can you add to myspace pages? this is typically done through PHP, although there are some php scripts that generate images with the stats on them...but those still require a host that can process PHP to generate the images.

if you have such a thing, i'm going to be posting an updated version of my script soon that adds in some of the new functionality.

if you just want a simple image that shows if you are online or not, then look to this thread...all you would need to do is copy the url that is in that thread.

its like they couldn't come up with a design, so they took a little covertte, added a pinch of porsche, and mixed it all up with 2tsp of viper which makes a Corvische. but that's too odd of a name, so they called it the fighter t.

I'm guessing that he didn't write any of the scripts/apps he's using, or else he'd know how to fix them and have done it and not be complaining about it.

i knew back in july when i started coding my lfs statics graphic that the id key would eventually be necessary and included it in my script so when v1.3 came out, nothing stopped working.

asking for help with your setups to work with the changes will get them working a lot quicker than bitching and moaning and vowing to quit because the game and site are evolving and becoming better.
