got 2 within 4 years, but I'm usually in the low-price range, and they caught me because their speed traps were well hidden both times (i.e. no time to react)
first one was 40km/h where 30 were allowed
second one for doing 78 where 70 were allowed

But I don't regret a single of them

I quite dislike the shifter, it isn't as good as I want it to be. More like a gimmick addon, but the wheel and the pedals were worth it for me

for sure you can do it with every car, even without video editing
(you only need a new frame, new engine, new suspension, new tyres, new body ...)

PS: this isn't the US, I guess at least, I kinda remember Skandinavians doing such nonsense. like using these things for driving on water and stuff

argh! re-downloaded the files, now it really was obvious
something screwed up my first e*.***-file, so it was impossible for me to find out

I wouldn't want NFS' graphics, they seem all wrong to me. and the nfs' graphics engine isn't good either
the free drive of world racing (just know about part 1) would be great with LFS' physics though

Quote from Shotglass :if you have photoshop do exactly what the level tells you to with both pictures

the m**.z** is an image too? the level says ey+mil=emily, so what to do with emily? is it created or should I get it from the site and... dunno what to do with it... The hint says hex-editor, so now you got me completely confused

edit: nvm, ignore the above

thanks, but I want to try without 'purng'ing
so a hint would be enough

any clue for level 23, the one with emily?
and people, please stop quoting white text, you can read it way too clearly
best for spoilers is to rot13 them, you can do it online at http://rot13.com , it's easy and safe to quote, since I guess nobody here can read rot13 fluently.

Quote from tristancliffe :Regardless of the weather.

I know a Subaru (legacy)-driver who would have fun to pull you and your fun car out of the ditch in the snow
Wouldn't be the first time for him. And the Jeep Wrangler of my father showed me the immense grip of 4x4 on slippery surfaces, but it's driven with 2WD most of the time. Wouldn't mind having a fun car for summer and a 4wd for winter. I'm stuck with my fwd polo atm anyway

I think the "good old" evos were still the concept "form follows function", which IMHO , not "form follows safety laws" or even "function follows form"
but that was all already discussed

yes, you can place a engine there. check out the boost-beast, it has 2 engines - 1 in the front and 1 instead of the rear seats. worked for the clio too (see clio sport )

hehe, if you're talking about novas/corsas, this one has to be in too:

and before you can say rice: no spoilers, nothing like that, just 2 engines with over 300hp each. This one shouldn't have problems eating a Ferrari for breakfast
(See what comes out if Germans and Britains work together? Scary, isn't it? )

Quote from mrodgers :Yup, we don't have anything like "pedestrian safety", or at least I've never heard of it. I make automotive bumpers, so I would imagine I would have heard of it if we had it, LOL. Actually, I never made the bumpers, I worked in the quality department, so if your bumper falls off.... er, it was the other guy, LOL.

I guess we just don't care about the pedestrians over here, LOL. If a pedestrian is stupid enough to get in front of a 3000 pound object on wheels that is self propelled up to high velocities, well, then I guess that's his problem. Shouldn't have gotten in the way!

Yes, the only thing the foam bumpers are for over here is that they must pass a minimum damage cost at 3 mph. Hmm, I know what the cost is to make those things, I think the auto companies need to step it up. $300-400 for the bumper if you have to replace it. What does it cost to make? Well, we sell them to the manufacturers for around $12. Just a bit of a markup there, don't you think?

Too bad you still have some kind of pedestrian safety because the manufacturers want their cars to look the same all over the globe

Quote from avalys :This may be a rather obsessive question, but I'm curious as to how you guys store your G25 when you're not using it.

I keep mine 'face down', so to speak, with the steering wheel flat against the floor. I would think that this minimizes the lateral stress placed on the shaft of the wheel.

Any thoughts?

clamped to an unused part of my desk (wheel itself) with the shifter lying loose on the desk. pedals stay on the ground, it's fun to use them as a foot-rest

Quote from Cue-Ball :Keep in mind that you are in Germany and mrodgers is in the US. I have a feeling that the two countries use quite different methods and have different requirements for pedestrian safety. I don't believe that the US has pedestrian safety requirements that are anywhere near as strict as Europe, so that could account for differences in your perceptions.

we test them for all laws, because our customers want them ... that's the only way I gained knowlegde of those foams, because if we crash a car with north american regulations, there has to be the foam and knee airbags, while european market cars are rarely fit with them.
I have to say, the bumpers and sometimes bumper mounting points are different for north america and europe, so don't buy european parts for an american car
btw: japan is very equal to european standards
