Meaning to me that the leading car is what is relevant. And since the MoE is more modelled after the ACO events than after the 24h of the Nürburgring, this is what counts to me. I suppose they don't do it at the Ring because of the length of a lap.
Well, DasKlee is right. What was meant with the rule is basically, that a team doesnt get scored if they aren't around in the end. But we will change it. Thanks for pointing it out.
And yes, cars wait behind the leader in these races because they would have to turn another lap otherwise.
Of course you are free to voice your opinions about the rules and discussion, we just want to keep those announcements nice and tidy. So if you got anything to say: shoot.
Only teams will be allowed to race. Teams must consist of 3 – 6 racers. A maximum of 4 racers of a team can take part in one specific race. In the 24h event, all team members can drive in the race. However, a driver can only start for two teams during a season at most and he can only switch teams one time. Teams will be invited to the series.
Teams can substitute team members. They can freely substitute team members that are on the official application list. When they want to change this list, they should send an email first, in which they announce this change. This email should be sent to (applications 'at' mastersofendurance.eu).
Applications can be sent to (applications 'at' mastersofendurance.eu). Applications must consist of the drivers the teams are planning to employ, the team name and the racing history of the drivers. Teams that have not previously raced in MoE must take part in MoE LFS GT in order to receive an invitation.
The organizers can ask the teams or single drivers for proof of their racing capabilities before inviting a team.
Racing Modus
Qualifying In the week before a race on Sunday and Friday nights at 21:00 CET (summertime when applicable) qualifying sessions of one hour will be held. Teams can run an unlimited amount of laps during these sessions, but may only have one car on the track at all times. The fastest lap of the team counts for the starting positions.
Racing The racing will be timed, either 6, 12 or 24h. 6h races start at noon, 12h races at 10:00 (10am) and 24h at 16:00 (4pm). All times CET (summertime when applicable).
Scoring
In order to be scored, a team must cross the line after the full time has expired and the leader has been waved off.
If a team is disconnected from the server, they may rejoin and start racing again. Their number of completed laps will be recorded by the organizers and they will be added up in the end and scored accordingly.
If a team is stranded on the track due to running out of fuel, an accident or other reasons, they may use Shift-S and restart the race. In that case, a penalty of 1 lap will be added to their overall time.
Points
Points will be given as follows:
In the 24h-race the points will be doubled.
Skins All teams must have their own, individual racing livery. If a single racing team submits two or more cars to the MoE, the racing liveries of these cars must be significantly different. The racing livery must be fitted with the teams’ assigned number on the sides, hood and rear bumper. The real names (no nicknames) of the team’s drivers must be listed on the car in a readable way; the names must be accompanied by a flag of the nationalities of all drivers. Also, the sunstrips that can be found in this topic are mandatory.
Racing liveries must be submitted to the MoE admins for rendering puposes.
Starting Procedure Start is run in double file formation by a flying lap. A pace car will lead the field during the formation lap at a decent speed. Drivers are to run single file until the last sector, when the pace car slows its speed to allow drivers to catch up and line up in the double file formation. When the pace car pulls into the pits, the leader continues at 80km/h. A race marshall will give the green flag signal upon which the race is on. Passing must not be done before the green flag is given.
Penalties Penalties will be given during the race in form of a drive through or stop and go penalty. Teams must appeal to the organizers immediately upon which the race marshals will analyse the situation and rule a verdict.
If the accident happens in the last hour of the race, instead of a stop and go or drive through penalty, the penalty will be 45s or 30s added to the overall race time of the team in doubt.
Appeals filed later than one hour after the stint of the driver who feels victim of the accident will not be accepted.
Appeals must be filed via a form provided for it and include a replay of the scene. Appeals without a replay will not be accepted.
The admins can rule upon an accident without an appeal being filed.
Number of drivers for a team during a race During a race, a minimum of 3, a maximum of 4 drivers must race for a team. No driver may drive more than 45% of the race. In the 24h race, all 6 drivers of the team can race.
Driver Swaps
Driver swaps can be timed freely. However, a driver may only join the server when the car he wants to swap into is in the last sector of the race track. The driver leaving the car must leave the server immediately.
Untill the driver-swap bug is fixed, new drivers are allowed to join before the last split. However, new drivers should try to be spectating as short as possible.
Miscellaneous
No chatting during the race. If a driver chats, a drive through penalty will be assessed by the race marshals. Messages must not be blocked.
No excessive honking. If excessive honking is used, a drive through penalty will be assessed by the race marshals.
Driver names must start with the team number.
Example: 05 - P. Kempermann
When the race is finished, it is prohibited to drive another lap. After you have crossed the line, gently slow down and come to a standstill after T1.
Sept. 10: Kyoto 12h at Kyoto GP Long
Oct. 22: 6h at Aston Historic
Dec. 17: 6h of Blackwood
Jan 14: 24h of Aston at Aston GP
March 4: 6h of Westhill
April 8: 6h at Kyoto National
No offense, but I simply dunno why that is more official than the one included in MoE. But I guess I am missing something here.
And yes, you got a point there. But there is nothing that can be done except excluding them from the race which I do not think is a real solution. Besides, The first (2) 24h races were run from the practice mode, IIRC, so you didnt even have an ingame position list.
As to discos: We will have an Insim app counting the laps for each team and when a team disconnects, they are allowed to reconnect and go on driving and the laps will be added up in the end.
The LFS Endu League and ESL Europe announce the schedule of their long distance racing series. You can see the schedule in the attachment below. The noted time is always the start of the race. Time Zone is CET.
In the week before the race there will be two qualifying sessions in which the starting positions are set. The better time of the two sessions will count.
Teams interested in joining the MoE must send an e-mail to this address: [email protected]
15 teams + 3 substitute teams will be admitted to the MoE series. Teams must consist of 3 – 6 racers. With their application the teams should apply the following data:
1. Team members
2. Racing history of their team members if not known to the admins
3. Which car of the GTR class the team plans on using during the MoE series. A switch in cars will not be allowed unless there is a major physics change during the season.
An application must be submitted before August 31st. The admin will then consider which teams will be allowed to participate, based on the info supplied in the teams’ applications. Invitations to the series will be sent out before September 3rd.
The rules for the series will be posted before September 3rd. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them in this forum or join #lfs-endu on Gamesurge or #esl.lfs on QuakeNet.
Is it in any way possible to make the stats relay compatible? That way you could run different insim applications like LFS Spectator AND the stats at one time.
