I would strongly suggest it is only worth the effort of appealing if you have a leg to stand on
The admin do a helluva job keeping up with the quantity of reports and from what I've seen first hand, the feedback is always thought thru' and logical.
We may not always agree with their decisions, but at least the process is there to be used if we feel the punishment does not fit the crime.
That doesn't look like something you can deep fry, keep it
To the OP - with all due respect, unless you turn out to be an alien theres no way you have had enough practice to extract the best from the set ups you do have. I've found the difference a real good set up makes is 2-5%. Of course this figure will vary person to person.
I don't know if you found the Team Inferno and Set Up Field download pages (if not you certainly should!). They contain some proper gems
Just get the heid doon and get some miles under yer belt, then come back and tell us it's all down to set up, cos its plainly not
The forecast at the moment looks nice and dry for Budapest, so I won't be expecting too many calamities. McLaren have definatley eeked out a wee advantage over Ferrari since Canada, plus their drivers seem to be in better form.
Fingers crossed for a good run for Red Bull, thet could do with stringing a few decent results together as the fight for 4th place in the constructors championship is going to be pretty tight between RBR, Toyota and Renault.
Should have been, but Sastre apart nobody had the legs to challenge Evans. Watched the whole thing live when in reality the last 15min would have done
A wee bit disappointing........
I don't think the gap is big enough to bother Evans. All things being equal he will sew it up in Saturdays TT
Not my first choice for yellow in Paris, but lets hope the b*gger is clean at least
I don't think 'they' have a problem understanding the principles.
Putting them into practice however, is a different matter.
Whilst we all make driving mistakes and errors in judgement, I can't think of an example where lack of knowledge can be accepted as a valid excuse.
It is a tricky one to see a way around tho, as Becky and James pointed out. One click and all the T&C's are signed up to. Not much more CTRA can do about that.
Well, short of heading round to the offenders house and disconnecting their internet
By paragraph two of that post I am bleeding from every facial orifice.....I feel raped by the lack of, and excessive use of punctuation. Lets just not even think about grammer. Trulli excruciateingly painful (excuse the pun )
Anyhoo, the race.
Hamilton was outstanding. Managed to win the race despite seemingly questionable team decisions during the SC period. Definately let thru by HK near the end tho, typically obtuse of Dennis to deny it.
Is Massa off to McLaren next year or something? P!ss poor non-attempt to defend his position from LH.
Piquet, the jammy sod Happy for him, but he will need to produce more....erm, more......well just more generally to make sure he is around next year.
Ferrari. Its all my fault, I apologise In the fantasy F1 league I 'purchased' a Ferrari chassis prior to Silverstone, clearly that act has f*cked them right over. After this post I am off to pen a personal apology to Marinello written in my own blood
Alonso. I like him more and more as each race goes by. He tries so hard my eyes water. Much respect
RBR were a bit of a let down, their junior team have really closed the gap. DC just aint doing the business, a sad end to what has been an outstanding career. I'm sure its not for the lack of trying, but he's racing 2/3rds of the way down the pack (when he actually keeps it on the track). Webber is showing how it should be done, but he obviously drove in front of a pack of black cats whch made him swerve and crash into a mirror shop a few years ago. His bad run of luck is a shame as I think the boy has real speed.
Vettel. Star in the making? Could be, could be.....
Trulli - another consistant quali and race. Having an outstanding season.
The Bayern Motor Works will be a quiet place this morning. Outpaced and outraced by their traditional rivals. Wonder if they have moved most of the focus onto the 2009 car?
Honda and Williams seem to be going backwards......perhaps they should try facing the right way You have to think that Frank and Ross will sort them out for next year though.
And for a final snippet - how the hell does Hungaroring stay on the rota?
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz of a track to watch, might just watch quali then not bother with the race.......
Although, since I bought the Ferrari chassis before Silverstone they have turned into a pair of diddies Should have saved myself 10M credits and went with McLaren and kept the change for a driver upgrade.......
Those who picked up Trulli a while back were inspired, he's been operating above his station for a good few races. Fair play!
Vettel is starting to look pretty handy in that Torro Rosso, but I fear for the Honda boys for the rest of the season.
Hey ho, average points haul but only one bet correct.....no changes for Hungary it seems
Thats good advice, worth taking account of
(if spectating press v to get into cockpit view to see the peddles and make sure this option is turned on in the LFS options:tab to change between racers)
In the lower powered cars try to concentrate on carrying as much apex speed as possible without losing control. This doesn't mean aggressive late brakeing, but smooth input to the controls both during corner entry and exit.
Once this leads to better consistancy your lap times should come down rapidly.
Also, do try to get a good set, its not the be all and end all, but does make life much easier......
Theres a wonderful thing called an Ignore List to be found in your profile settings
I recommend you use it to full effect
I also frequent a rock climbing website, and it's really pathetic seeing all the cyber-stalking freaks out there harassing any of the women who admit to being of said gender. They even have to remove their profile pictures due to the obscene amount of lewd and immature comments.
Anyway, No Longer Welcome means you've been very naughty, or just a complete ar$ehole
Ah, the state of confusion, a place I am mighty familiar with
Totally fair point. However, I would like to think platinum and nat A licences show a reason able level of participation. My stats aint too bad either. Oh and btw, 'verbosity' - what a great word
IMO theres no need to defend the CTRA decision in this front. It's been a well debated and totally transparent process. Proper kudos for that! Sincere apologies if you took my comments as a slur. However, I reserve the right to mourn the passing of THE most difficult road cars to drive from the CTRA servers :weeping:
Erm, also, is there a word missing from one of those last two sentences? Or is I just beink fick again .
Thats a certainty, I love the FXO and RB4 but haven't tried the XRT post Z.
Hope you don't think I'm having a go or plain whining, that isn't my intention . Just my tuppence worth on a quiet day at work.
@ Glen - I disagree the scripts for gear changes make little difference. In lower powered car round say FE Gold the difference can be easily as as much as 0.5 sec.
Sam, I don't race on LFS for days, even weeks at a time, never mind a specific car on a specific server. I spend a fair bit of time doing hotlaps and racing on our own server with mates.
I only stated that it was the best venue for LRF pick up racing, which I was learning (after being practicaaly allergic to the RAC :tilt and whats more enjoying the massive challenge they present.
And nobody said anything about the decisoin being made on a whim. However, the opinions of certain member of the community undeniably carry more weight than others
I'm not lobbying for its return Sam, just lamenting its demise
And btw, the statement that NOBODY used it, and no offence, complete tosh. I remember plenty good races with mostly other LX6 racers........I even saw VoiD in one
Theres no need to defend your decision, its your server/system after all! But theres nowt wrong with voicing an opinion too.
PS - the only reason I started to 'get into' the LRF cars was exactly because they were a new class in Race 2. If you start to change it to specific TBO cars only per evening, it might be an incentive to try the XRT
PPS - the full grid TBO races recently have been forkin awesome, I don't think anybody is denying that?
Well I was just kinda speculating, and the crystal ball is a bit dusty atm
But if I had to put money on it, the same crew who managed to bin the LRF's will also get their way with a revamped TBO class
If that happens via LFS balancing then great, if its an X-system thing then that when I start to think its getting too contrived. Better off with points balancing than restrictions to penalise certain cars.
I'm not too shabby in the FXO on most combo's, but a skilled XRT driver will/can still be faster (ok, it was Palluka )
Whatever you guys decide, you can't keep everybody happy
ps - I am loving the fresh TBO Race 2, I just really liked the RAC as well and it's hard to find decent pick up races with it now
