Can I ask what time these are normally at? I find it strange that in order to find out whether it suits me or not I should read the rules which I can't read because I haven't registered to your site, which is because I have got no idea what time the races are held and I might possibly be completely wasting time.
This section of the forum is supposed to be for people who want to share their finished addons. Something mainly utterly useless, over complicated that has in fact nothing to do with LFS hardly qualifies. You've managed to waste the time of us all.
Want an encouraging, helpful piece of friendly advice? Study programming 10 ****ing 1!
Except you still went way over the top. For arguments sake, lets say you for reasons I can't imagine you desperately need a program to keep track of a team database. It'll take less than five minutes to write.
And it's spelled "bored." Unless you are a wooden product.
Anyway, since ngt / jrngt hasn't been the most popular class till now, maybe some people could start building a setups they would be willing to share? I doubt there are many available currently and that could boost the numbers.
What would be the point of collecting points then? I hope it won't compromise the safety rating based car availability. Or do people just race for points for the sake of collecting points? In real life I'm an awesome driver, I got 18 points in September alone but I still don't get why you would want to collect them
Can I make one last plea against this rotation nonsense: If you get bored of a track after an hour or 5 races or whatnot, you're playing a completely wrong game. It's a driving simulator and you should be forced to put an effort into driving and not just cruise along while the track changes every minute.
I would understand a reasonable rotation interval, one that would be measured in days and not minutes.
Since the schedule (and the layout) has been out since September, you lot wanting to make changes to it a few days before the race MAKES NO ****ING SENSE WHATSOEVER.
And then you have the decency to tell me off for the same thing
Oh, deer.
I don't want to sound lame (but I do often) but I really can't see that working. Sure it would add a bit of variance but really honestly, will it be an attraction? Now of course if there's a wide "organiser" base and the server is always populated you don't need a special attraction and masses always find the most populated server. But still, how many people went on ctra race 3 and drove a different car / class every week? Everyone just drove their favourite (albeit for the majority it was gt2) till it died.
I would actually suggest using very little rotation if possible. AS3 / GTR anyone? Even though everyone is supposed to be bored of it, it still provides a good race.
Okay, an honest mistake by my side. Don't call the classes A-D since airio also gives you a rank in that area. Or something like that.
And yes, iracing does not work, it's a stupid system and I hate it with passion. I'll admit that the more incidents you cause the more accurate the system is but that's about it.. It's not a measure of driving skill. Nor safety.
iRacing style ratings don't work. That is a fact. Also, while you're at it could you make a rank system that works? Why can't I have a go in a gt2 car despite having driven a 100 k online? Is that not enough? What is?
So what was originally a pretty good idea is shaping up to be something quite awful. Concentrate on the systems that worked in the past, don't try and shape this into iracing!
So a bit of a progress report. Not that anyone cares but since I like to boast
So in stead of doing something useful like driver / team / laptime statistics I have decided try something else that is really of no relevance regarding the actual data in question. As some of the people blessed with the gift of reading might remember Yann was earlier all jelly for the old, fancy graphical overlays. We all know how irresistible he can be with the sad-puppy look he makes with his face, so I couldn't decline the request.
So I've made a small proof of concept I intend to work on next week. Whether it makes it into a broadcast anytime soon I don't know. Also I haven't really put any effort into it since I discovered no one was willing to actually use this app for anything, apparently because it's too difficult to use (Currently you have to run it and press two buttons, I'll try and make them easier next time...)
So I've made a small app that creates a cunning borderless window, and makes the race order (according to the tracker) appear. The overlay window will be on top of everything else. It will appear after running the program and close after 10 seconds (this is because you can't close a window that has no button for closing it :P ).
Anyway, this proof of concept: In case you are interested to test how it works and / or give feedback on the possibilities you see in this, you can download it here.

Hello sir / madam who could not be arsed to introduce him- or herself!
I'm sorry but my first impression is that I'd rather be a member of NSDAP.
I hope you're going to get the translation job done by someone who knows his grammar. Why do you portray your company as a strictly English speaking one? It doesn't make you look smarter, for that you need to buy some glasses.
Just to prove a point (and somewhat for being funny)
What is so unprecedented about it?
EH? That's just a blatant lie isn't it? What recent awards to be exact, ones from 6 years ago don't count (obviously)?
You can of course also rename file with another computer (if you have a laptop around.) Also you wouldn't actually need to click anything as insim has some replay features. But as I said I was being sarcastical.
