Would love some vintage race cars. Galaxies, cortinas, capris, escorts, rs200, sierras and falcons... and some imsa stuff would be amazing. Hopefully it is not just ford gt3, mustang something and a focus probably.
The great martian war 1913-1917. Kinda nice, kinda lame. Definitely worth the watch if you could see a documentary about alien invasion in early 1900s being interesting.
Maleficent. Despite the bad reviews I liked it. It wasn't corny or cheesy even though some bits went overboard with sheer simplicity.
The blob, 1958 version. Kinda campy, very typical that kind of movie from that era. Even steve mcqueen's performance was very robotic.
The blob was in color which was surprising because I was hoping to see a different movie. Wonder what is the blob type film where there is a scene where the "blob"/big monster uses human bodies to fill up some air vents or something and there are some people trapped in some kind of basement? Iirc that movies was also black and white so it is probably some really old movie..
Better to stay at ferrari than to go at lotus. Even if the lotus are getting merc engines next year the team is still money strapped like crazy. Plus lotus already has kinda nice lineup. They have someone who comes to work always with suitcases full of cash and can still occasionally drive very fast too. And then their other driver was beating kimi at the end of 2013. Alonso is probably better than grosjean but do they have the money? Do they even have the money for grosjean?
I don't have pcars but apparently there is still a lot of variation between cars. Some being a lot more finished than others. That is what the fanboys at virtualr are saying. What cars did you try?
There has always been ways to be antisocial. Just because kids are using their phones doesn't mean they are alone or antisocial. They are probably more connected than ever and with all kinds of ways to communicate the kids are probably more connected with friends than ever. Those devices do not just mean more ways to communicate but more people to communicate with.
Imagine being a lonely kid today and how much easier it is compared to 20 years ago. While others are playing you can at least do something instead of just being alone. Does that mean more people are alone? I don't think so.
Those people standing in queues talking to each others. Probably asking about when or how something is done on the flight. And getting wrong info and missing their flights. Now they can just check the info online and and not miss their flights. I don't remember standing in queues and things being any more social than they are now. Of course this is coming from finnish pov but still if you want to talk with people in the queue just open your mouth and start talking.
Phones can be used in many ways. If I get bored even for one minute I can always take my phone out and play some games or pretend to be busy and very important. Just because I'm not sitting there with blank look on my face watching the minutes go by doesn't mean I'm more or less available. I'm just doing something instead of nothing.
Those kinds who need to have their smartphones taken away just so their mothers can talk with them... What about the parents 20 years ago who hide behind their morning newspaper. Or god forbid listen to some radio show and not pay attention? Even in caves you could play with some rocks and be totally antisocial to the max.
I'm not saying things are better or worse. Things are different.
How much did you drive the 458 (in the sim)? I did some racing in it in the last patch and at first the car does feels understeery. But when you get the braking correct the car just flies into corners with 4 wheel slides.
The mclaren is faster than the 458.
Haven't driven the 458 in the new patch but it does look like a lot of cars understeer more than they did in last patch.
Actually I think the problem with the cobra is not with the lateral grip but with the longnitudal. Kinda like lfs before the patch in 2006 I think.
What makes it evident (I could be wrong of course) is that the slides are all about controlling them with the steering wheel but throttle doesn't really do much. Kinda like the old FO8 in 1st gear. On throttle it just snaps away or feels totally planted depending how much throttle you have. Dunno... Should be easy to check with telemetry
Also the throttle pedals feel more unlinear than before. To get 30% power out of the engine you need 70% of the throttle. At least with the brake I can turn the unlinearity off but sadly the throttle unlinearity is car physics setting.
Well for me they completely broke the mp. I can't join any server which claims to have more than 8/24 players or so. Only servers I get in have something like 3/16 players. So I can't say anything about fps either. For solo driving and slight traffic it seems fine.
Also where is the frames_ahead thingy now? It is not in my video.ini... Do I need to manually add the whole line? What have you guys done?
And then the cobra. You know what I'm going to say. Well, let's start with the easy bits. On stock setup the car has no dampers. The suspension is so underdamped that the car is bouncing up and down at least 3 times for each pebble you drive over. Changing the bump to 4k and rebound to 6k all around fixes that. Probably some stiffer springs maybe... Also it looks like the brake bias is not too rearwards anymore. Which is nice.
The tires are still weird. But different. This time around the car does not simply spin around randomly in longer corners. But it has some kind of issue with the lateral grip dropping to nothing when you get a slide. Kinda like rf1 but at 30 degrees it snaps back. So most of the time when you get loose the car turns into old 911 and after that you are driving a pendulum. But just like in iracing just smash the brakes and it straightens itself out! The same seems to work in the merc gt3 too. If that is some change to the tires I'm not impressed...
The cobra is better than it was with its unspinnable launching system out of corners but it is still weird.
Also something funny. I have somehow trained my brain to lift off the gas automatically when the screen starts to darken. Usually the screen going dark means the session is ending in few seconds and it happens in all games. Well in ac I get my screen going darker (filters?) in some parts of the nordschleife (exit of the turn in hohe acht). So I'm lifting the throttle for couple of tenths before my brain reacts to it and I floor the throttle again...
What does "feature complete" mean anyways?
Wikipedia:
A feature complete version of a software is an advance version, which contains all intended functionality of the final version, but is not yet final due to bugs, performance or stability issues.
Usually a feature complete software still has to undergo testing and bug fixing, as well as performance or stability enhancing before it can go to release candidate, and finally gold status.
Well the career mode is exactly the same shit as gran turismo. "Super insanely easy win it in T1 and hotlap the rest of the race alone" kind of grind where you need to do something like 3/5 of the races to "progress" to the next level. Useless crap gimmick feature imho.
The flatspot ffb is kinda good kinda bad. At first I thought it was ffb bug . I love it from realism pov but at the same time I'm really worried how long or soon that ffb vibration will destroy my ffb racing wheel. Plus having that feature will just make racing without abs even less possible. Now abs is so much faster that racing without abs is something like 1-1,4s handicap per lap at least. Not to mention you are really easy to pass in the longer braking zones. Add flatspot vibrations and basically we have situation where the game is basically designed to be driven with abs. I don't mind giving that ~1s away to drive without abs but I don't want to destroy my wheel with the ffb vibrations...
Also collisions sounds are imho broken. There is some strange lag, sometimes no collision sounds at all and at one point I did not even hit anyone and the game made a sound like someone just opened can of beer on the backseat.
