Anyways, here's a separate thing for this thread:
1) which team will score most points?
2) will pole sitter win the race?
3) who wins the race?
4) number of cars finish?
5) will williams score points?
6) who gets the fastest lap?
Bonus) first driver to finish lap down?
You have time to post answer until the first practise session starts.
My answers:
1 RBR
2 Yes
3 Vettel
4 16
5 No
6 Robsberg
B Bianchi

It is a strange thing though to happen. You expect something to happen and you have no idea why it is not happening. I think everyone has gone through some embarassing moments when you have done your first laps in some sim with 3 pedals instead of 2.
I've defenately had my moments of fail when I first tried some 3-pedals + shifter action though. At some point your brain just turns off and you try to "left foot brake" but for some reason the speed isn't slowing down as you'd expect... wait a seco.... *insert the sound of an A-arm making its way into the cockpit"
It's kind of funny how some people think the team orders and mercedes are lewis' fault. The call to hold positions came from ross brawn and lewis can do as much about it as nico and yet some people are saying lewis should have let nico past. If the team boss says hold positions then surely passing a team mate is as much forbidden as letting one by too...
Yes, in the latest overtaking challenges it is not allowed but in the last 4 or 5 seasonal races before the newest overtaking challenges it was forced on and you could not turn it off.
Here is the list of recent seasonal races:
650PP NASCAR Challenge - SRF forced on and can not be turned off
750PP Real Circuit Tour - SRF forced on and can not be turned off
PP590 German Touring Car Championship - SRF forced on and can not be turned off
380PP NR-A Roadster Cup - SRF forced on and can not be turned off
400PP World Compact Car Race - SRF forced on and can not be turned off
600PP Super GT - SRF wasn't forced on I think
Personally I just think it is insanely stupid move from pd to force srf on. Just insanely stupid.
On the last 5 seasonal races or so srf is forced on and you can not turn it off. SRF basically artificially adds grip to a tire when it is sliding. So it is not just a driving aid but it also changes the physics.
The seasonals are really bad no question about it. It is pretty amazing how bad job pd has managed to do with them lately. Especially because in the latest seasonals pd for some reason has forced driver aids which you can not even turn off. So the seasonal races are pointless "catch the rabbit" chases most of the time and not even worth playing.
Personally I just play the good ones and imho the bmw z4 m3 time trial is fun.
All the vettel/webber vids seems to be dropping from youtube as fast as I can link them here but when I saw it it looked very much the same thing in both cases imho so penalty would be appropriate.

As for the whole thing between vettel and webber in this race to me it seemed that rbr were grooming vettel for the win all the race/weekend long but for some reason decided in the end that maybe webber should win instead. So what happens is that they slow down webber at some parts of the race but let vettel keep blasting as fast as he can and then be surprised when vettel is not as willing to to play the second fiddle to webber when it is suddenly expected at the end.
Of course at the end mark was also told to slow down as was vettel but in the end the question is who would have come on top if nobody was told to slow down? In this race both seemed to be able to win it and rbr defenately wants vettel to win it more. Vettel also knows just as well as the rest of us that he is the better driver of the two and has much bigger chance of actually winning the dwc at the end of the year even if in this race webber maybe looked to be the faster one.
Also it is just pure plain kudos to vettel to not not just drive behind some slower drive like some rosbergs or webbers of the field seem to be happy to do but drive past them and win if that is what it takes. Sucks for webber who may have been robbed of win in this race but in the end it is exactly what rbr wanted. 1-2 for rbr with the one with more L letter in his name at the front.
If I was rosberg I would have gone past hamilton. Unless it was a contract issue with merc (hamilton having a schumacher clause in his contract) there was no point holding rosberg back imho. Not enough fuel? Well, tough luck - your team mate is faster than you and that's it. Maybe this showed rosberg does not really want to win the dwc enough.
As for kimi. I'm starting to think he needs to work on his wet weather driving. He simply seems to lack pace when it's wet or raining. It defenately did cost him a lot in this weekend (poor quali and early part of the race).
As for alonso I think the decision to not pit was understandable. We all knew the wing will probably break when it is being put under the biggest amount of load and that happens at the end of the straightaway when the speed and downforce are the biggest. His wing did survive the first long straightaway so with that in mind I would have thought the wing will not break on the second straightaway either. But it didn't.
Having both buttons (kers + upshift) for right hand leaves the left hand free for other adjustments (and drs) though. Kers is only used early when exiting corners though and that's not usually the place where drivers do lots of adjustments on their wheels...
Because of the cancellation of our primary F1 manager game for 2013 season we need to think something new fast.
So I present to you the F1 fanatic prediction championship!
How does it work:
The game is free. It doesn't take much time and it adds A LOT of excitement into watching the races. You will be cheering up for drivers and teams you hardly cared about before this. If you can not only guess the pole driver but also the pole time you know you have made a well educated guess.
The idea of the game is to try to predict how certain parts of the race weekend span out. Who gets the pole, what time is the pole time and who wins. And who are the top 5.
Plus doing better than your most or least favourite LFS forum poster is definitely another plus!
Prizes:
Tons of prizes all the way from DVDs and wristbands to tickets to british GP in 2014. There are individual prizes for individual races and prizes for the overall season winners.
I will make some special list that uncludes everyone who have posted their F1fanatic alis in this thread. I will also remove the points from the first race so everyone can still win this. For our lfs F1 predictions "league" the season starts next weekend in Malaysia!
That F1 fanatic prediction thingy looks interesting. Maybe go with that instead. Tweaker I hope you are ok if I steal your idea? I'll make a new thread about it later today.
I'm really sorry for the maximum fail, hope there is still interest for last minute change...
