So low noses are the new rules? But the Caterham doesn't have a low nose? Or am I being stupid?

Quote from Cornys :Well yes of course, and I'd assume that that would be better, but I don't see how the competitor's head could be spared consistently. Metal (especially light weight metal) bends and breaks like everything else.

Carbon Fibre doesn't bend, it shatters.

Quote from Yuri Laszlo :Really fun race, lots of action, managed not to cause any yellows on my own, very nice.

One thing I would like to suggest for future oval events is allowing (or even enforcing) people to use the dreaded follow cam. The two in-car cameras are terrible for close oval racing because they leave us clueless as to what's going on around us and, unlike real drivers, we don't have spotters telling us whether to go high or low.

Using the follow cam significantly improves spatial awareness, allowing drivers to chose a line more confidently and safely. It is also better for drafting and, specifically, bump-drafting, which the in-car cameras aren't very suited for, leading drivers to involuntarily bump each other mid-turn because the camera perspectives leads them to believe they're a safe distance from the car ahead.

The only downturn of the follow cam is that it doesn't allow us to see who's directly behind us, but that is made redundant in oval racing, given that we can pretty much count on having someone snuck up rear wings all the time.

Inb4 deko rant about how ridiculous he thinks that is

The other bad thing about follow view is that you can't see the front of the car, which can sometimes cause issues with close racing.

INSTALLING CARS/TRACKS:

Simply drop the RFMOD file you have downloaded into the Packages directory and then use either Option 1 (outside of the software) or Option 2 (inside the software) to install it.

Option 1: You may want to configure which content RFMOD packages (cars and tracks) are active before you launch rFactor 2 for the first time. To do this, click the Manage Mods button at the bottom-right of the Simulate tab on the launcher. A new window will open and it will automatically read your packages directory for RFMOD files. Right-click on any mod in this window to see options available to you.
Option 2: Launch rFactor 2 into single or multiplayer and you will see either a series option (single player) or mod management option (multiplayer). The software will automatically read your packages directory for available mods, and you can click install or update right inside the software.

This sounds much better than rF1

Quote from JO53PHS :1) Don't think I've come across any road signs in the UK that can display multiple text sizes
2) The text on the second line looks too close the the bezel of the sign for it to be displayed properly at the edges if it were real
3) The font 'Transport' appears to have been used to make it appear authentic, but in reality signs like this mostly use whatever font they are designed to work with.
4) The lettering looks a bit wobbly, which is what happens on Photoshop when you rotate text (to get the correct perspective).
5) On a busy road such as this, I'm sure a message like that would have created a bit more hype, unless it was only up for literally a couple of minutes.

Could be real but I very much doubt it.
