Quote from Bean0 :It's unpaid tax and penalties for the unpaid tax, rather than borrowing.

Same sort of thing that happened to Portsmouth I think, HMRC have said that they will be looking closer at football clubs and their creative accounting.

.... who've gone into administration AGAIN

As a Man Utd fan, I do mostly agree with The Moose, especially with

Quote from The Moose :If the case had gone to a civil court like the John Terry case, it would be laughed out of court. There is no way that Suarez would have been convicted.

I still think Suarez is acting like a bit of a child though, if he'd have shaken Evra's hand (like a professional) then another word wouldn't have been spoken of it. Even Standard Chartered (L'pool's sponsors) are getting involved now.

EDIT: And of course he had to shake his hand cos Sepp Blatter says shaking hands solves racism.

ACCAkut finished the FBM off anyway.

Quote from sam93 :What was it that Brunel did for Bristol again, I cant remember lol. We have the Tamar Bridge, tiny bridge but brilliant suspension bridge none the less.

I live about half a mile <----

Quote from sam93 :What does get me thinking though, how people once just learnt these things through research, so what would a normal person be able to do on their own by teaching themselves. If you know what I mean

Yeah you kinda can, but I for one learn better with someone explaining it to me rather than just reading it in a book.

EDIT: For some reason I think Tristan Cliffe went to Brunel Uni.

Quote from sam93 :I was looking on the internet, apparently Bristol Uni is also very good for Engineering degrees. Would love to go to Brunel at one stage. Have to get qualified enough for Uni first ahaha.

I know - I go there. (or was that your point? :tilt

Quote from sam93 :Brunel was a bloody good engineer tbh. Got a lovely bit of his work 1 mile from my house.

Ditto!

Quote from Silverracer :Definition please?

Studying for an Engineering degree?

A "proper" engineer is someone like Brunel, not Bruce from British Gas who comes to fix your boiler.

Quote from Shotglass :jeez is the word engineer really that meaningless in the uk?

Yeah there's a petition up atm to try and made "Engineer" a protected title, like a lawyer or whatever. FWIW, I'm a "proper" Engineer

I've been here long enough to know who posts crap and who doesn't; it's an alright-ish great correlation between posting non-bullshit and the inverse of post count

Quote from sam93 :....

I remember watching a documentary about RR a while ago (I'm an engineer so general interest :P) and there was an apprentice on there talking about RR. I imagine it's very very competitive but if you get in there then you're definitely going up in the world. As general advice:

You never know what you might get, and who might notice your name for the future - that's what I'm doing at the minute

Quote from NitroNitrous :Are you talking about cars or planes? I got a friend who recently started working as engineer for turbine engines at Rolls

I'm 99% sure it'll be planes.

I'm probably not that much help, but think about what you need to be good at the job (meticulous attention to detail, being organised, thorough e.t.c.) and say that's what you are

Something like that

Or if you wanted to be totally radical, make AS1 the pitlane, i.e. pit entry is left after the long AS3 T1, and pit exit blends into the back straight
