I can only comment on the speedlink. You can connect it to xbox, ps2 and pc and has some gimmicks, but it really fails as a wheel for sim racing. There is no Force Feedback only Rumble Effects + its 200(or 240) degree rotation. Its wasted money compared to DFP/DFGT/G25/G27/fanatec porsche wheels. These are a bit more expensive (cheapest might be DFP with 300-350 lei , around 100€ i guess) but its worth it!
And i guess its rather hard to find info on the other wheels, because like 90% of all racers use DFP/DFGT/G25/G27/fanatec porsche wheels. A few use better wheels like FREX or others. Only maybe 3% the "cheaper" wheels.
PS: yes, Logitech pretty much Rules, but fanatec is close. An Trustmaster salesman (i guess) actually was so desperate to act like a user and made some "reviews" to sell his stuff... that was till he realized no-one believes him (go figure, madfinn... but FTR: there are hundreds of reviews -even on this board- about wheels, if you want to read a lot. Your original question was answered! there really is no need to whine. you can go now and leave )
And thats whats so sad about it. Whoever comment this as "great" or "good" or even "nice" has no idea or simply is comparing to his own skills, wich must be really bad then. One big thing you should not forget is the stretching. Its so obvious and looks so wrong (especially when you use famous logos 'n decals)
Like Niko said, it really takes not much time to squeeze the logos, but adds alot to the overall quality.
ok is far away from good
@ matija, WIP section!! This is not the place to discuss about it really. You seem to not being able to learn huh?
BTW check my earlier post. i linked to the skin viewer wich make skinning alot easier and faster
sure, and... well when you have PS i recommend using it because with everything in layers you can easily change things. it might seem complex program (wich is) but for skinning you dont need to know much.
PS: I (we) can delete these post now to keep this thread clean, do we? If you have problems you can always make a thread in WIP.
no offence, just when you're not done dont post here really no offence.. just saying.. alot of people post crap here (i dont mean your skin is crap..its a start and if you're happy with it - fine by me, was just trying to help)... nevermind forget it.
The skin can be attached if you go advanced in the posting window. Because i, for one, cant see a issue because the pics are to small. (pls dont post even bigger screenshots )
Hey welcome, i guess to S2 then
I cant make you a skin, but give you a hint.
It's hard nowadays to come up with something original since most things are done already
If no-one responds for a while you might look for existing paintjobs to wink into a direction. There are sooo many possibilitys to make a pain-job (asymmetrical/symmetric, a racing style, classic racing style, Tuner/Ricer style, and whatnot)
Have you seen this :P. took me 3h and would be sad if it dies since the requester seem to not care. If everything fails i could convert it for you to other cars.
BTW, choose a Font of your likings. The more info you give, the easier it is to help you and end up with something you really like using for a while.
exactly.
@Matija, lined-up (or aligned) means that the different parts of the car fit together, wich they definitely do not on your skin, as well as front and rear.
If you dont have it, get the Skin Viewer. There you can easily check for errors and even disable the reflection to see gradient errors and such.
And BTW no-one forces you to skin. The black mask and wireframe are free. You dont have to post skins, just cause you said you will, in the help section Please put some effort in your skins (it maight take some time to really finish a skin). If its good i upload.. i see some creativity in you. keep it up
@ Nick, what issue, attach the skin... and BTW there is an Work in Progress section in this forum
well.. it looked kinda good in my head but does not on the "paper"
ditch the image i posted.. it doesn't really go along on the round FZ... it's a crappy sleigh anyway xD although mine now, isn't much better.
For the helmet i used a cartoon santa pic as a base but will repaint it a bit, because its very low-res and pretty hard to see through the windows. The head will be more to the backside placed, so turn you head a bit for the photo
The jaw area will be white to make it look like his beard.
Im afraid it wont work and dont mind me if you dont like it - its ok!!
The whole thing is past my skill level, i have to admit. Im not a serious skinner anyway
An graphics artist would be needed to give it the depth. I just like painted cars but this is to complex for me!
