You don't have the silly slide effect and the likes on, and what wheel do you use?
I have no reference as i've never drifted or driven a car on the limit IRL, but plain 90% ffb (100 windows) feels just fine.
Imo, tracks like the Nordschleife and Bathurst are a no-brainer, and they're not much more "one-line" that some others. The close scenery provides a great sense of speed. Coupled with interesting and challenging corners in a simulator thats actually fun to drive - must have.
Not really, but its nice that something like this will be implemented. The picture is WIP, but still, if its dust it would be spread rather homogeneous than this patchy.
Dont quote me as im not too deep into the subject but look around once in a while since sooner or later i'll have to upgrade as well.
Afaik, the i7 supports hyperthreading which makes it an theoretical 8-core. I guess its a bit more futureproof and depending on the price it might be worth it, but generally you wont see much difference if programs dont use more than 4 cores, like most games atm. But more cores is the direction game developement is evolving. Ircc, BF4 for example, makes good use of more cores.
Yeah, well, i still consider LFS one of the best , but regardless, there are 1 or 2 more.
However, considering the price, it really is a no-brainer. Personally i'm not so happy with the sounds as there is this kind of echo present, especially in the TV cams, but that might change hopefully.
Driving feels already very nice and it runs pretty well.
No, i didn't liked it xD
What Vice City made so great, was the setting, music and teh references. The driving wasn't that fun.
However, from what i understand and seeing videos, the issue isn't the suspension, but cars just wont break loose taking soem of the fun away from driving. Not just sportscars, but ordinary stationwagons drive like on rails.
Less wobbling is something i very much welcome.
What more are you trying to understand? Your statement, which really is more whining because soemone said something negative about your precious, wasn't, and still isn't, true.
The only one that is over reacting is you. You're ona forum of people that appreciate good physics. If the drving in a game, that always was about driving, is not of interest for you, then fine. Nobody was out to destroy your little perfect world.
While i don't think its the holy grail and LFS has probably more potential judging by the way a car "sits" on the track, it certainly is one of the best sims. Over hyped or not, not supporting it, especially when throwing hundreds at iRacing, is just wrong and doesn't bring the genre any further!
There are definitely people who still have hope, especially since the latest AC "impression". AC might be the next best thing; the car models are amazing, graphics are up to date... its in every aspect up to date, but there is no reason LFS can't be as good.
Fact is, we don't know what they've worked on. Granted, the chances are they haven't accomplished much, but there is always the possibility they can update it and be on-par with the likes of AC, iRacing, rFactor, Raceroom Experience, or whatever.
LFS is still unique in the way it simulates (afaict). Its a raw simulation, while others try to cut corners in different (and essential) aspects
So, yeah, there is still hope, even though, it has a very bitter taste to it.
I don't think its to be taken seriously. I used to have a Fanatec ages ago for forza1. It was a piece of crap, but the CSW is probably the best you can get.
Right, i've overlooked that; watched this video first too and compared my impression, but then decided for the Monza one.
What the difference seems to me is that, driving on the straight, it kinda floats, while the real car is really shaken up and bumping extremely. First i thought the head camera is what looks so wobbly, but really, it seems the whole car is. Maybe its the setup and it has a similar issue like LFS, where you can set extreme soft suspension without it hitting the chassis.
Same with the understeering; it seems kinda snappy from my uneducated and clueless pOV. I'd assume he'd either understeers and he gets off course massively or could only barely keep the line

Reason : my grammar is so bad
Do you mean you use the hood view or just not the steeringwheel and a fixed camera? I think most people do it like that.
LFS does it kinda great. It's pretty much directly linked to the suspension/forces, although a limit would be useful to limit the distance the head moves. I do use a tiny bit of it, just enough it doesn't go "out of bounds"
Besides that it looks kinda extremely grippy and then extremely understeering, the cockpit camera is the main issue, or the physics... It doesn't look realistic when compared to this video.
Oh, right, and you're definitely not alone with these concerns. You know faboys will be fanboys (GT5 is supposedly the best ever), but at least it's trending positively having more than the usual suspects, striving to be in-depth, can only be beneficial.
