Quote from col :[...]they put their lives on the line in second rate equipment with no chance of victory for our entertainment.

Right, but this quoted bit is a bit harsh, because they have quite some fun doing so. After all they wanted to race in the highest, most professional and competitive class of (european) motorsport with in the fastest and safest cars. Their second rate equipment is not faulty or anymore unsave than the material of the top teams... just not as competitive.

Quote from BlueFlame :He was holding his ground on the track, why does any competitor have the right to force a lapped car off the track?

He does not and its not what Vettel did... he was very tight, indeed, but it would have worked out, if narain wouldn't had done what he did.

PS. and thas all i'm saying

bye

Quote from BlueFlame :

Vettel should be turning more right here but instead he straightlines right infront of him. Brundle and Coulthard both have said it was a mis-judgement from Vettel which only confirms my opinion to be honest.

noone diagrees completely, but you cant only blame one of them. periode.

Quote from BlueFlame :He was holding his ground cos he's sick of being bullied about which I understand.

Ah, thats whre the truth lies? It was an act of defiance? And now say again that it was not a penalty woth

Quote from Intrepid : A number of retirements could lead to a lucky 10th place for one of the lower teams which is worth millions, so yes they are very much in the race.

True, but it wouldn't have made any difference to his position if he'd lifted a bit and that is all that was needed and he'd have gone home with a better result!

@Intrepid, Vettel was in a race - Narain was not.

Quote from BlueFlame : Doesn't matter what Narain is doing, when you cut someones nose off how can it be their fault?

Of course it matters, because it always needs at least 2 people for an accident to happen, especially in this one where both did their part.

You can make it look like you want it to be, Blueflame, but the fact remains that Narain has a major role in this incident that caused a major material failure on both cars (video evidences were posted a few times), and while he had nothing to gain it was the right thing to hand out a penalty.

Quote from sinbad :I've said Vettel could have been more cautious, but it's still Karth's fault for a serious lack of awareness.

this sums it up perfectly

Ah i see, no, not possible to add a border unless you edit the carbody which is not very easy to do and more importantly not allowed

You could however get a piece of plastic and put it on top of your monitor (just kidding )

PS.
Quote from TRKAC :
3.but this is the best view i have seen in any driving game(if I use a wheel) but it could be better,I ****ing love this cam options, that should be stanard in all racing games

Driver San Franciso has a similar cockpit view

Quote from BlueFlame :Look at the onboard footage from Vettel, if you think Narain is at fault for that then there's no hope for you.

You can only see black or white? I never said Vettel doesn't have any fault in this incident. What i see in the onboard footage is that he trys to get the car straight as soon as possible, assuming he's past Narain.

Quote :You give room on the track as much as you can (ESPECIALLY for lapped traffic) because if you don't this very scenario occurs.

"especially" because lapped cars have drivers that are not able to see what is in front of them?? There was absolutely nothing to gain for Narain, at all. Completely pointless move.

Quote from BlueFlame : It's Vettels fault, because he saw where Narain was going and still hit him.

Bollocks, Its not a clear case like you want to believe. Narain was the one who had a clear view.

Quote from manneF1 :Too much Vettel fanboys here that cant understand he makes mistakes?

No need to get upset. Look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxVxZeYZ_IU

Narain literally drives into Vettels tyre...

Quote from DeadWolfBones :re : that sequence of pics... consider the line of the Marussia ahead (I.e., a normal line)

true, but it wouldn't had made any difference for Narain if he'd lifted a bit

Quote from deggis : A graph pointing down would be the biggest assurance that the updates must come out sooner rather than later.

Only the bank account of the devs would point out the need for updates, but i think it was scawen who said they're fine with the finacials so far.

If the updates come out and kick ass, inevitably buyers/players will come in

Quote from manneF1 :Vettel still turns right to his line, no difference really.

It is a difference. Vettel just comes out of the corner trying to get the maximum out. He made it extremely close but it would have worked if Narain would be professional driver xD

1. Not sure what you mean? I assume you're talkin about clipping of the car model... can you attach a screenshot?

2. don't think so, but i am not sure. Make apost in the techical section http://www.lfsforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=5

I can't disagree and it would be very interessting to have the enviroment simulated too, but i also imagine it extremely complex, seeing as alone the temperature simulation momentarily seem to be off, how complex would be weather, wet surface affected by sun and wind, different types of tarmac and what not...

But i do see your point, so... nevermind me

Quote from Becky Rose : I don't really care about tyre physics.

But to be frank, racing drivers do

I think, if it wouldn't be for an indy developer like scawen, other sims wouldn't even bother with proper tyre physics, which is the essence for a driving game (for the player itself).

Wonder what happened with Schumacher and Grosjean. Would be nice to see a replay of that...

It was quite clear, afaik. Grosjean just slightly "understeered" into schumacher.

@Devildare, lol, True that... ugly attitude by Vettel there

Well, shirtkicker is pretty busy i guess so i quickly made it up. Let me know if something is off or you'd like to have added.

It works for both cars, you just have to rename to either car

Quote from Storm_Cloud :What about Hamilton's state of mind?
[...]

Refocus on what?

..on the racing. xD

I thought he would do good this time around... in practise that was. Maybe the beard suggested me that he has matured a bit, but then i saw Nicole Scherzinger during the race in the pits and it was clear to me that his mind is constantly focused on her cootchigu.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :If you watch the replay, you'll see that Maldonado's car snaps loose mid-corner

I'd say it snaps more on the exit, which could also be seen as an intentional correction to go even wider (see pic from englishlord) and push Grosjean off track.

PS. If Grosjean got off the throttle, Maldonado would have gone offtrack. Fortunatly for him, Grosjean was there to push him back on track

Actually, those 18 USD is per minute of online play...

Devs are filthy rich and tyre physics are very easy to simulate.. even on a notebook

PS. BTW, content already released, you just have to pay 13USD for a car and 20USD for a track

No, the Pro-Kits are there to help you making skins.

LFS specific Logos are mostly fictional anyway created by some skinners and are absolutely free to use. Just make sure you make a note on the skinfile when you use certain work/bodykits/decals. This way you can give credit to the original author and show your appreciation.

Have fun skinning and when you have problems or want some honest objective opinions feel free to post

Quote from edge3147 :It is not based off of NFS Shift, it's being developed by people that helped develop NFS Shift.

"Slightly Mad Studios is an award-winning developer known most recently for its work on Electronic Arts’ Need For Speed franchise with the successful SHIFT series." - http://www.wmdportal.com/projects/cars/

doesn't say anywhere that CARS is based off of NFS Shift.

It doesn't say what you interpret into it

Read up in the forums and not only a promotion catchline. They use the engine and develope it further so it is in fact based on NFS (Need For Speed).
