The 1st link is a PNG file which means in this case the rest in tramsparent. You can open that file in any pinting program like pain.net, create a new layer, fill it with colour and moved it under the lights.
I have used the same colour tone like in the XF, so if its off, blame him ;P
However, can't finish it today, because i've gone the wrong way and have to do a few bits different, but will definitely be done during next week. Ill post in the finished skins thread and put a link in here.
Mullog is right, look at the way the helmet model in the viewer is presented; it is standing like it is on the head of the driver. Imagine it laying on its bottom and then look at your lines; they fall off.
A simple way to orientate is simply look at the skinfile and use the bottom as a reference. Check out one of mine or Mullogs avatar ^^
PS: its also helpful to click the shine button in the lower right corner of the viewer to take off the reflection, for skinning or presentation. Also, you can use the custom reflection texture just like you can in the game. There are a few textures that are clean (without enviroment like trees and houses) to give the viewer more of a studio look
Well, pCars is indeed a bit more advanced due to the more "polished" lighting and an actual dawn and night, and also different tracks to "show off", but i find, comparing them set at a similar time of day, they look pretty much the same, with a similar smoke generation and reflection; you know, more or less standard to date.
Well, your remarks can come off whiny, but i can tell you there is no need to get overly excited. No-one has seen multiplayer yet or teh performance in general, even with other cars. It does run a lot nicer than pCars tho, while looking equally up to date
Not much really, at least at the moment. The destruction of a building is rather simplistic and unspectacular, you can't break trees, cars only get teh generic broken wheels just liek in A2...
What would be the point, if winning would mean killing the hostage? They could start off the round by killing it and win... not much enjoyment.
You know, it's a simulation and just like LFS, for that matter, it's about the scenario itself. People make up a leagues, practise for it, and then someone "wins" it, although there is no profit. It's not about points, stats, K/D's, assists, dogtags or whatever - just playing "game"
I think it will always be something... 20 fps can make a difference... 4Ghz or 5Ghz. 4 x 1Ghz+ is something, you know. Watercoolingsystems become better and less expensive.
Although in the end its just a thing to have fun, really
If you plan to overclock it must be able to handle the stress, theres no way around some reading abozt that. If you know what cpu u'll get you need to make sure the socket the same on the motherboard. If you want to use your old HDD and DVd drive, which is connected with that large 40pin ide/pata, the mobo needs it too, but I dont think newer boards still have it. Standard today is SATA which can be as fast as 6GB/s or so
the first cpu is a single core, you dont want that and sempron isnt made for gaming. The second seems good but the one mentioned in the video i posted is a 6 core instead of 4 and aeound the same money
at least
E: Basically what you want to look for is ddr3 memory, a videocard with at least 1g ddr5 mem, a quad core with 3ghz + (at least ) motherboard that goes with it and a 500 to 600w psu (depending on what power the parts consume but with a single gpu card, 500w should always be alright)
I stumbled over a good recommendation a few days ago on youtube. It was an AMD built and incl case 500 € but i cant find it anymore.
However, another question is probably what you wanmt to play. Nvidias have physx support which comes in handy to take some load from the cpu on certain games. On the other hand amd are know to perform better in relation to the price. For sims an AMD system would be recommended i guess.
Edit: not the one i've seen but this mention the GTX 660 ti and that card should be able to last for a while. Mabye look around on youtube for a while and then look for benchmarks
GTX 460 for example i think, or 560. I have a 460 and 100fps it tells me, although sometimes there are slight stutters, but i guess with that inbuilt fps report they'll fix it.
And if the game runs like this with other cars and good netcode, this isa keeper xD. Great fun the first 30 laps... I already made fantastic laptimes of 1.28.xx
they've mentioned LFS while counting all sims/developers that are current or at least promising, somewhere at the end conclusion
