yeah that is pretty much what i am thinking of, but not getting totally black. I start with the flag on the side and wrap it aroung the rear too (probably) not sure yet how it will work out. like i said it will be slightly disorted or screwd we'll see
While you are basically right, that there is no need to talk about his license since this is only concern of the devs and mods, you are very much wrong in what you are saying.
For one, last time i've read, almost everybody is complementing his drawings and talk mainly about the subject itself. He was very welcomed untill he said he uses a "stolen" version of the game. If he buys a license or not is totally irrelevant of the fact that one or 2 people asked him about he license status. If it would bother him, he wouldn't have said it, or lied about it and kept it by the friend-statement.
Further i find it hard to find the logic in your last 2 sentences. You say you want that people treat other like they do, but in the same sentence you also say it's not justified.
Do you mean cutting out the part of the skin-file that's being placed on the side of the car-model? Yes, you could, but you would need to scale it back to check it on the actual model/CMX-viewer.
You could however, expand/scale the whole skin-file to get around the issue for the sideparts. A few people do this and I think you don't even need to scale back to use the skin in cmx-viewer/in-game, but be aware that you change the stretching-value on other parts by doing that. For example the FX, which has no generall stretching on the front and rear. There, you would produce some and you would have to deal with it anyhow. Of course if you only wanna do stuff on the side, you're fine.
However, there is no patent solution for it since you still need to deal with the car shape. I would only consider this method for doing alot of stickers or something, or even if you doing fine lines around the skin, as this obviously effect every pixel (something I regret considering when i did the JPS FZR. I wish i had done it back then.. revisiting now it's a little bit like coming 2nd in a race xD)
PS. Note: i think if you scale up and down you would also produce jaggy (or blurry) edges, although it might be irrelevant if you start your skin in a 4096* resolution. I did the up and down scaling when i started skinning and got this result. I changed it alot, because i did'nt know what i actually wanted to do on this skin - amateur-ish
Anyhow, you can still use these values of this topic to find the amount to scale/expand the file.
Ok, i'm just saying, a red suit and the name on it is very simple. Something you can do with any program. I can't access my comp till next we, so you might be faster yourself.
Besides, you've asked how to edit them and that is what i have done... there is no big secret to it ^^
However, i'll give it a shot, alone to figure it out and make a suit for myself.
Ps. you could drop tonix a pm or something... he makes awesome suits
oh sure, but might take a while. i wanna install lfs again and then iÄll chekc it out... i don'T even know where the belt area is
PS. you could actually try to make it youself, if you don't need the stripes either dowmnload paint.net and apply (modus multiply) this texture from masterskinnerz suit template.
@simfan, yes he will, at least he said so many moons before we knew about a new tiremodel, that the graphics will be upgraded.
Along with it, weather effects are sureley a topic... or they just call it finished and make a new game called LFS Unlimited. The new open configs are just a tease and will be removed soonish xD
hehe, i know how it is.. i havn't finished a few private helmets yet either.. sometime it just doesn't work out and sometimes it simply isn't possible
The important thing is probably to make compromises. First things is the proportions and then I focus on having the optimum look from front/side as you most time see the helmet in this view.
However, if you need help to find a line or want a second opinion, feel free to write me up. =)
Ok, if you want something changed like the top shape pulled down like it seems to have been on one of his helmets or different sponsors, feel free to say so.
Suits are like car skins (only jpgs) and located in the pic folder i believe (not sure). Somewhere there is a template (probably masterskinnerz) for it but i don't have it and never done a suit. I also don't have an idea how to style one as i'm not very creative but more of a technician xD
