Indeed i havn't checked the 'GTR' scene latetly, but the argument not bying S2, because of the graphics, is hard to understand for me. The Texture-quality is quite awesome/detailed and even raised abit with custom stuff from some quailfied people. Dx9 doesn't make that much of an difference to me. Many effects are just generic and bad, like sparks, that are coming out of nowhere. The lighting isn't that great either and doesn't look much more realistic either, to me.
I agree about nightracing and dynamic weather (heck, rain would be awesome in LFS)
There are other things that needs a lot of improvement and some things seem to go in a direction that i hope are not written in stone; example boring/Flat/FIA safety with miles-long runoff areas and sandtraps. I love FE - tight, challenging, immersive, and simply characteristic (although even there, surely they could be more interesting)
As a skinner, I can also barely argue against the car/helmet models, although they aren't that bad - In fact, they are pretty detailed with the clearances between each body-parts (not including the cub.. Helmet). But round could actually be more round, indeed.
The interiors, especially the dashboard is top notch, IMO.
You're right again when it come to different/real models. I would consider myself an average car fan and over the decades there were some pretty awesome cars made you can't help but fall in love at look at 'em, whenever there's a chance
Eric simply must have something nice on his HD.
For the smoke, I am pretty sure that it will be quite improved with the next big change of the complex tyre calculation, in form of the highly anticipated patch
And that brings me to something that is great about LFS. It just is "real", if you know what i mean. There is barely a thing that looks faked. The way the car "sit" and behave on the track, is just great. The accurate physics and generall easy access is, in my opinion, absolutely worth the bargin that an S2 license costs.
And that was my point towards LFS_adam. I just don't like to rant about the negatives of LFS, that simply come with the background of 3 devs, but i got that behind me too now, lol.
Rfactor2/GTR3 - no, havn't checked... maybe I'm afraid it will be good and i have to pay 50 bucks again xD
But then again, i kinda expect something good with the "power" and resources.

As for GT5, I'm afraid the physic sytem is quite limited, still. Sometimes its just so generic, if you catch my drift.. oops... drifts in GT... however, The graphic, especially the car models and their reflection, is mind-blowing - no doubt about that
PS: While i'm at it... something that really is a bit sad, is that Eric barely writes in the forums. Of course there are alot of people who can't even be arsed to try to understand what's actually going on and what it takes. But he developes a huge part of the game/sim and you don't hear/read a word of him. A few infos or teases of what's happening in the future or are planned, wouldn't hurt anyone
Well, he apologises for braking too late for the corner and loosing control.
What he didnt know by that time is (and i assume he didn't had the comfort to watch what actually happened as it wasn't broadcasted on big screens or live coverage) what the corsa driver did what he did, and how it effected his car.
And of coure the corsa driver says it was the nissans fault... he was pissed he got overtaken this time around. Its always easy to blame the others first...
Too bad he could have out-smarted him, but was too stupid for that. N00bs xD
LFS_adam, if you are waiting for over fancy graphic gimmics, you can wait a very long time i'd guess. But you are missing out of the fun of driving the other cars against players.
All LFS graphics lack is more complex lighting system and that's about it and it will take a while until a realistic simulator comes along with it. (iracing isn't there yet either)
But then again, you play already S2 and just want to troll, huh?
hehe, yeah, I'm not 100% sure it has not been done.
Schuppor made a nice one (attached), although personally, i think your blue for example is more spot on, but then I'm a sucker for vibrant colors, which might not always be spot on. Schuppor's version looks abit purple-ish to me. (Besides it a actually a different livery )
In the end it all depends on the reflection texture, i guess. The default changes the color tone quite alot.
Your preview looks great (orange looks spot there to me). The black line on the front tho, isn't quite true to the Gulf livery, but adds more contrast... so it will be your interpretation.
One thing i just noticed, the letters of the michelin writing is usually vertical, but looks kursiv on your skin. This is something i would fix, but it actually looks good too. Just my opinion.
However you gonna do it, in the end it's gonna be a nice release.
I don't really have and idea except keeping the paint like its on the mclaren, going into the top layer when the rear-end-part starts, resulting in a almost complete black rear-end xD
However, this doesnt look bad either and you sure can always release it, since the interpretation and execution often is very different; starts with color tone and ends with compensation of the stretching. Personally i think the orange could have a slush more red in it, but that is just me.
As a sidenote: the place where your michi-man is (he still looks a bit too fat still), the shape of the car gets "deeper" to the rear and the top, which means you need to add a tad more compression to the logo then the general value, and to be hardcore precise making it a bit of a rhomboid
I have an idea of how wide the track is and that it is indeed not very wide for the speed it can be driven, but all the actions the Z would have caused is forcing the Corsa to let off the throttle for a sec; no harm by doing that. E: (It's racing - not hotlapping.)
That was me thinking of our conversation on the msc/massa incident, if you remember. You've blamed MSC for being extremely dangerous, while in this case you defend the blatant actions of the Corsa driver.
I am aware that it's not the same situation completely, but in regards of the intentions of said drivers, i can't see your continuity.
