I can only remember seeing it live once in between and now on youtube, which is just filmed with a cam.
The File on megaload isn't up anymore, but if that's the case... well, fair enough then. I'm going to see it later on when i got the onboard race (wondering how dark it got in the end hoping the camera doesn't regulate it... )
E: Oh, you can stream it... True, didn't see he taking his hands off, but i have to say he doesn't really try to avoid coming back on the track either... Was a 50:50 chance, unfortunatly wrong decision by him, IMO.
Ok, i guess he tried to initiate quick rotation when he felt the car sack down then, because he was clearly steering right (onboard) which put him directly back on the racingline/apex...
Not enough experience then and he need to wait another year to become DC
Hi, i just thought i put my 2cents in, although i'm not an editor and attended only once, but i think the "problem" isn't the voting system; merely the interesst.
Someone who's interested, will invest a few minutes in doing a proper judging, otherwise it surely is easier just voting for the best (which would be always lynce xP)
So i'd suggest, since there are pretty much all basic themes already been covered, to do a competition just every month (in the end or beginning). I mean it's getting repetitive and kinda boring, inevitably. By having more time, the quality can rise easier and more voters can make up an opinion about a round.
Hope this makes sense... sounded better in my head xD
This is just down to the fact that it's made with a decent physics engine, and because of that it comes so natural for someone who is into cars and driving them.
But some people just like the look of cars, but driving them in a simulation is a pain in the arse. I know a few guys who can't get it; to break long before a corner coming in with 200km/h.
Ideally there would be swoosh effect when at high speeds and super awesome brakes, for an enjoyable racing game.
Do you seriously think the Dev's or any player don't know? ATM it obviously isn't their high priority and as a matter of fact, there are people who have trouble to run LFS fine. Not every LFS player is a hardcore gamer who updates his system every year.
Admittedly, LFS was something quite amazing and unique at the time (even by the time i found it) and heck, still, there are people find out about it and are just as amazed.
I don't deny that it lacks in alot of areas and every one last player (or fan, if you will), every single one of them wants it be even more "awesome", but the first to know about that are the developers themself, don't you think? After all, they are obviously not retarded and made it what it is now, which is also still providing realistic racing online with easy access.
So, all the talk about how "it is dying" or "will be forgotten" is pure BS.
It's been said that there will be a rewrite of the GFX-engine, but not yet. (Ofcourse that would lead again to the argument that more devs would speed up things, seeing what seem to hold back is the unfinished tyre-formula, and you know the answer to it too - everybody knows)
Maybe that day it will again be ahead of its genre-"competitors" for whatever it is worth, which is nothing really.
Weather effects? night racing? Who's gonna play F1 2010 (talking about the awesome rain-effects) in 1 year and who's gonna play LFS (not saying that the next patch/upgrade will come in the end of this year )?
All other racing games that actually are a simulation and not fake or simply arcade, still don't do those things that good yet. True, it is better than nothing, but in the end just slightly fancy.
Bottom line is, all the moaning and stating smartly obvious things won't change a single thing in a positive direction, quite the contrary more likely. How can one keep himself motivated, when all the feedback comes from smartass, short-sighted "kiddos" claiming to know the answers while actually having no clue - And now say the devs don't care about the community (players actually have no truble to find servers and can pretty much rely on LFSW nevetheless).
They are working on it and it will probably be out when it's done. Everyone who is into simulatuions will inevitably come back when the email notification arrives.
No problem
Sure it doesn't matter much, but in regards of simfan's "point", I was just wondering what he meant with LFS being far ahead. Maybe you can enlighten me in this regard?
+1, eyecandy is the last thing LFS needs, and every moaning about that is a waste.
Barely anyone is defending or excusing, but understanding what it takes and what can go wrong along the way. Special effect simply have just a very low priority.
Others games are and that's good and free to purchase ^^
Was it? It uses Dx7/8. Wasn't Dx9 the best to date? If so, how could LFS been ahead?
No-one says it's perfect, and who is attacking? It's just an attempt to make you understand what's actually going on.
That's weird... Why would you care about the future? Did you made a huge investment in LFS for the long term?
I cant give you the clor tone code, but this definitely looks too flat. Look for representative original photo and take sample. Check out the very middle of this pic, for example. The parts that are not in the shadow and not shine, should give you a good tone.
The rest comes along it seems. I guess by looking at the B-stone logo, you consider the stretching, which is very important in this case.
Personally I'd make the total-logo on the front wing a bit smaller overall.
The 'movtt' logo looks a bit big too and it overlaps the "mounting" for the front wing =/)
Pretty nice. What i'd suggest is making the writings on the wings a bit smaller; the space filled out looks way too cluttered, imo. Funny tho with small balls ^^
Of course ligning up the engine cover would be ace
