No it won´t. Lets take for example NFS Hot Pursuit. It was made by Criterion games, the same company that made years ago Burnout Paradise. Take a look at the damage in Burnout Paradise and Hot Pursuit. Do you think Criterion games forgot how to make awsome damage? No. All games with awesome damage feature fictional cars for example Flat Out or GTA.
The car companys don´t want us to see how fast their 100000000000000000000000000000€ car gets wasted in a millisecond. (The only exeption I know from is GRID. Probably it is because the cars in there are heavily tuned)
Make a HUGE fully accessebl area (kinda like TDU2). Make some fun physics in there like (Shift). Take the tuning from Underground 2 and make for example the slider things from Carbon (you know these things to personalise your tuning parts), more tuning. Probably cobs BUT LET ME CRUISE FFS. In Most Wanted and so on it was not possible to drive 100 Meters without getting in a pursuit (Take for example TDU again. Awesome for cruising and you only get into a pursuit if you want to), abillity to make your own skins (like for example in Forza).
There are a lot more things you could make.
Btw. didn´t know about frostbite engine. But Black Box will manage it to waste even that ^^.
Who else loves the start at the uss carrier??? After spawning just stand around, watching 10 noobs fighting for jets and helicopters and almost all fall right into the water.
(OK it got better) After every one is gone i pick up a jet and try to fly (isn´t pro but atleast I manage to be 2 or 3 mins in air ^^)
Or the fact that nobodey seems to notice that the vehicles get respawned after the get broken. For example I (think it is Karkand) you know the sand city thingy there. Start: everyone gets into tank and light tank thingy. All are gone in like one minute. After half of the match I get back to our spawn point, get the light, tank pick up team mates (especially engineers) and pwn everyone else. Voilà you get 20/0 K/D.
There are two layers of track. One that you can actually see and on the other one all the physic calculation are made. On the layer you can see, they can´t make a lot of details but on the one on that the physics get calculated they can have much much more details. (Why they don´t just raise the physic layer up to match the other one because it doesn´t matter on that place, I don´t know).
Hell yeah!!! Usually I say that nothing is worse then a game with physics too arcadish to be a simulator but you can´t call it arcade game neither.
But shift (at least the first part) had a awesome mix. I would so love it.... illegal street racing, customisation like Underground 2, big open world and a game engine like shift . Sadly this is never going to happen.

yesterday it worked when I clicked on the server option "show empty servers" and joined an empty one. Well..... actually I was player number 12.... (it takes like 1 second to connect no one can tell EVERY server is from 0 to 12 in 1 second
iirc all that is new in the new tire smoke is that the smoke gets emitted from the whole tire not just the part that is touching the ground. Which looks tiny bit better but it´s still 2D. I think it will look a bit like smoke mode (which is good IMO) but still not realistic.
Just tried to run LFS on Mint 10 with WINE. Everything works perfect exept the sound. It has always a 1 second delay . Any idea how to fix that problem?
E: NVM I just looked into the WINE settings and made hardware acceleration to emulation and it works now too. Will try it with G25 later :/
Sawen already said, Eric is working on the VWS and another car (we still don´t know what it is, not even the car type). Now Scawen not only says, Eric is working on a car, but he was working all the time on S3 stuff. So let´s see what all that S3 content will be. I´m sure it will be more then one track and 2 cars....
Great except from 1:53, the floating wheel and the at times very odd DOF behavior like at 2:40 (the car very close and very far away + the whole left background are in focus but the car at the right is totally out of focus)
