While wandering around this forum i noticed some people see LFS as their life objective, and frequently tend to insult and destroy the image of some casual players who just want to have some fun.
The most common examples of this are some responses given to users who make questions not linked to racing (like drift or cruise related questions). when i read them i wonder if their parents actually taught them some manners and how to respect others.
another examples somewhat related to the last one are also responses to some suggestions. answers like the typical "go away noob" are totally reprehensible. again, people are just looking for some more fun. At least if you think that suggestion should not be implemented, be civilized, and just tell you don't agree with them and explain why.
now this one, i don´t disagree with it, but i still don't understand how can you do them, the 24 hour races. i mean, i can't even play 2 hours in front of my computer without suffering some headaches, and there are people who play 4, 5 and even 6 hours at a time.
I will die if i don't post this one. i don't remember where i found it or who wrote it, i think it's not even in lfsforum, but it's too good to leave out. It was something like this:
comment it if you want, because i got absolutely no comments for it.
so, as a conclusion, lfs will not pay your salary, so take it just as a hobby. it is a game, so it was created to provide fun, and respect everyone's thoughts. we all have different tastes. and most important: do not make lfs as your life occupation. hang out with your friends, get a girlfriend/boyfriend , but don't commit the same mistake i did in my teenage years, and spend 10 hours per day on your computer. luckily i was able to recover in time, and now with 18 years old i have an (almost) normal life (the girlfriend missing :razz
I was in 2 or 3 drift servers yesterday, and i was the only one actually drifting. the rest was doing donuts and burnouts or just ramming random people (like most of the demoers do :shrug.
anyway nice tutorial The-FeaR, even if it's not new to me.
edit: and i forgot to say while i was in one of the servers i witnessed the creation of a new drift team, called "[penis]".
Let's ban the 12 year old kids that give a bad name to real drifters in LFS , shall we?
Can i join a server using mods which don't affect the car's performance, like sound mods? And will my game crash due to having mods and the other drivers don't?
There is something in the XRG (and i assume in XRT and XRR also) design i think that should be fixed.
It's body is mainly composed in square and rectangular shapes and a kind of boxy sctructure, i assume it's something like a late 80's vehicle, but don't you think the interior design should fit it. I think th XRG interior has too many round shapes, and should be more "squary".
and i forgot to mention. i used the xrg default hardtrack setup. ok, with reduced brake power to prevent the wheels from blocking, since i was using mouse/keyboard. from 1000 to 750 nm.
This afternoon i visited a friend of mine and had the unique opportunity of playing S2 (but only when i arrived home i figured "How can someone have S2 in a computer with no internet connection?" )...but anyway, i just want to ask a little question.
There i tried to do something i have been trying for some time, which is racing on drift conditions as fast as i can, and i want to know your opinion about the best time i made on Fern Bay (Green circuit, i think) with my XRG.
Almost all my laps were under 1.35.XX, and my best lap was 1.32.63. Do you think it's a good time, a bad time, an average time,...
Here is the circuit with the techniques i used on each curve, i would like to read your opinion about this aswell.
The red dots are the curves where i used the e-brake to drift.
The green dots are the curves where i did some small oversteering.
I gripped on the rest of the track.
Today i had a nice discussion with my friends about how we drive when doing some virtual racing. btw they all play nfs, gran turismo, forza and games similar to those, and only 2 of us (me included) play lfs.
Most of them said drift is the fastest way to race, and some replied that total grip is faster, and slides make you lose time.
Personally, i like to oversteer a little bit, having just around 5 degrees of slipping, except on single seaters and gtr's, where i need downforce. i drive better that way.
after this i had the idea of creating this topic just to know how you drive when racing on live for speed, and maybe learn a little bit more about driving styles. you grip, drift, or do something between these 2...
