"It seems one Youtube user was determined to break the 10-minute barrier though - and finally, after seven years, 118 laps, nine engines and five gearboxes, at 8:37am on August 17 2013, said AX enthusiast nailed his goal with a 9min 55sec Bridge to Gantry lap.
Apart from some sticky Yokohama AO48s, a small increase in fuel pressure, a strut bar (apparently because of the "mileage of the body" and an aluminium intake from the top-spec 1.5D engine to avoid said turret brace, the AX was mechanically stock.
Even with fully independent suspension at the rear and tipping the scales at just 720kg - thanks to a completely stripped out interior - it's quite an achievement. From the montage at the end of the video it seems driver and AX built up quite a bond, with the owner even sleeping in it in his quest to bag "the perfect lap."
No problems with g27 feedback either, drifting in AC is easy as in LFS
I use same ffb settings for drifting/racing
sucks that I don't know how to do picture in picture video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v ... UJaQ&feature=youtu.be
reduce the ffb gain
For me drifting in AC is the same as in LFS, maybe because I use weak ffb.
I don't really on ffb that much, for me the most important is tyre physics, that feeling when tires losing/gaining grip is the most important
I somehow managed to finish that stage in one piece (sort of)
did 6:12:393 with semis at reverse direction, will upload onboard, so you can see the struggle
lol at the OP "well i'll take back what ive said, my ff settings wer way too low , reset em to ac default on 1st setup, cars feel much better and can now get the sense of the car wheelspinning out of turns"
but wheels still spin up in F40 same as before, but you can control it better because of the improved feel, there clearly is not more grip, otherwise all the 0.4 lap times would be beaten
Even with current physics LFS sill would be the best sim if it had laserscanned tracks or great fantasy tracks, or maybe ripped ones like Joux Plane (I can imagine the fun driving there with LX6), so we can enjoy the awesome ffb more interesting cars fantasy/real/mods (not the horrible vob mods) updated visuals, its 2014 not 2004...
but who knows... maybe some day/year Scawen will finish the tire physics and then we will get the new content and updated graphics and LFS will rule the simracing world
what understeer dude? maybe your driving is wrong the most 'understeery' midengine car in AC as they say... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffQr6M2YKk8
And remember that in LFS you can setup your streetcar like a racecar (minus the tires/wings)
RAC is cool handles similar to Lotus Elise, only letdown is uncharismatic/boring SAAB turbo engine, and it's the only mid engine street car in LFS, while AC has 10 mid engine street cars (not including 'stage' variations) and 90% off them drive nicer then RAC
LFS still beats AC in clutch physics, low speed physics (3,7km/h), and tire flex (visual), + tire flat spotting
But overval driving feel is better in AC imho, and AC has much more nicer street cars in much bigger variety (I am not talking about visuals but pure driving feel)
