We have a BF1 team if you are interested, the members are me, JET46 and dltacos. It's called OnlineMotorsportsClub [OMC] http://www.onlinemotorsportsclub.com/ . We don't have our own server atm, we just hang aroud at public servers, like the [SR] Race server 3.

Now, about the setups you asked, as Bob said the physics haven't changed with the latest patch, but the sound did!!.

So make sure you go to the LFS audio options and crank up the wind and skidmarks volume and lower the car engine volume. Then boost the volume of you speakers. This helped me, cause I had major problems with the feeling of the car too with this patch, but this was because of the sound actually which is quite diferent now, this might be your problem too.

I have a good Oval set, although we don't race at oval. I just had some laps there when nothing else was available and I got this from another person. Here it is...

I had some of these tools too, but this ISO is a must, because it has them all organized, and easily installable.

Especially for beginners, this is a reference collection.

One thing you could do is to open an explorer window and click on the Tools>Folder options option from the menu.

To the window that'll open go to the "File Types" tab and scroll down the list until you find the "Set" file type on the "Extensions" column (left column) of the list.

Then select this file type, click the "Delete Button" and close these windows.

After that you could retry "LFS Associator" on that file type, and I hope it 'll work.

Of course you should give up on that skin Rish!!

The damn skin is fantastic. Very... refreshing.

It's a finished skin imo, don't add anything to it.

There are already some real cars (RA,MRT,BF1).

Then off course you probably mean some others too like Ferrari, Porsche, Subaru WRC etc.

Apart from the looks, I don't think real cars will add anything extra to the gameplay of LFS. I don't mind if someone adds them but they just don't excite me to REALLY want them in LFS.

Real tracks would be fun though. (Spa, Monza, Indianapolis, etc)

F1 challenge 99-02 has a very good AI and it is adjustable by a slider to 20-120% if I remember correctly. An average driver will have a very good time at 80%, a hard time at 90% and above 100%, well...

So for Single Player, F1 Challenge is very good, you certainly will find a level that really challenges you no matter how good driver you are.

The graphics are very good and there are many mods for it too.

This sounds pretty good, especially during decelerating and downshifting. It's quite "full" and I can hear the tyres & the wind too while racing.
But the accelerating sound is a little too high pitched maybe?

Can you make the accelerating sound more "deep" while keeping the decelerating-downshifting sound as is?
Or we can't have the one without the other?

At first lap T1, while your friend had the lead you hit him and caused him to spin.
No problem for you, you just continue to race with a 10 sec gap in your pocket

In lap 9 while he was in the lead again (aftair covering all the gap by driving faster and spending 3 laps behind you, trying to overtake you without even the suspicion of unfair contact) you totally crashed on him hitting him from behind.

No problem for you again, you just continue to drive with another 10 secs gap in your pocket.

The rest of the race has no real value after those two incidents.

Yeap, happens to me randomly too (once every 2 months or so)

I have this mouse since 2002 and I have changed my whole computer ever since, but this still occurs from time to time. I think it has something to do with the mouses's usb connection.

If I connect it via the PS2 port with the usb->ps2 adapter it had along this thing does not happen, but the light of the mouse remains open even if I shutdown the pc illepall lol

Btw do you use an MSI mobo? Both my mobos were from MSI. I had an SIS 645 mobo before them and I don't think it happened there too...

(If you unplug the mouse and replug it, it works though)

It's a matter of taste actually, cause I have changed mine lots of times.

The best thing you could is show them this link http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Options#Mouse.2FKeyboard which explains what is the purpose of each setting. And then, tweak the settings to suit your friends needs.

I'm using IE & Firefox with no problem at all.

Tried and older version of Firefox maybe?
Use fresh copy of FF with no old profiles and/or extensions.
The fact that it worked for three days and after that doesn't really shows that something goes wrong with your computer as you use it.

Perhaps a virus, or firewall setting?

One thing you could do is download portable firefox http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable and try using that for lfsworld. This is completely isolated from your normal firefox installment. Don't change any settings on this one.
Just use it until it goes wrong. Maybe in the meantime you'll figure out what the problem is.

happens to me a lot, especially in an empty server.

Nothing fancy, just some arrows at the opposite wall would do the job or as a temporary solution some message on the screen as tristancliffe said at post #7

Well there's nothing wrong with you that's for sure

It's totally normal to have these symptomps. The degree of them of course may vary from people to people but as a general idea simply it is impossible to do anything that jepertizes your health (as in real life) or proving your skills (like in LFS) and don't get anxious about it.

LFS is a tough task especially when you have tough opponents or even better if you and your opponents are almost equal on track.

This rises the stress cause you know that the winner will be judged by the details. And the more you are thinking about it the more it gets you

So if you cant't control these emotions to a degree probably your performance will suffer.

Damn LFS!!! It really puts your life in a different prespective

About the multiplayer refuse option now. This can be done easily from your firewall.
Any free firewall, like Kerio (this is what I use), ZoneAlarm, Comodo etc will allow you to block internet traffic for the lfs.exe of your second copy. Integrated Windows Firewall can't do that though.

USB 2 is as good as firewire, as stated above ^^
Plus you might want to move it to another PC sometime.
Since a firewire port is not a standard even on modern PCs I would highly recommend the USB solution.

They USB implementations are cheaper too, if money is an issue.
