You really lightened it out that it is not a fanboy topic yet you are still doing the fanboy thing. You are talking about GFX card as an expense chained to the simulator. You need a GFX card to run any games on your PC. You buy it and you'll be able to run more than just Assetto Corsa for example... There are far better points to rant on than LFS running on 10 year old PCs and well, AC ran almost fine on my 7 year old PC, but I needed an upgrade anyway.
As others said rF2 has official content, official servers and actual developer support for that money. It's constantly developing at a slow rate, but not as slow as LFS though...
rF1 is still blasted with mods, ISI dropped it dead years ago so I'm not sure if it should be part of this topic when discussing sims cause I could talk about GPL and whatsoever here aswell.
iRacing is expensive indeed, but it gives, it really does... The computer requirements are pretty low so there should be no complaint about that, and the online service. Well, you really can't get better racing elsewhere at any point of the day. It's worth every penny for me currently, because it pushes my adrenaline to the point that I didn't feel in years.
Assetto Corsa, probably my favourite although I hate hotlapping. I can't wait for the multiplayer to pop up, it will be a blast for years on, especially with modding allowed.
There is GSC2013 to discuss aswell, can't really comment on that though.
