LFS Companion is a local insim application I've been working on the last couple of years. Its primary purpose is to make it easier to keep track of the chat, on-screen buttons to show you rpm, speed, gears etc. It is quite beneficial for the average LFS driver.
Features
- Read chat from within the application window
- In-game UI that displays speed, rpm, fuel percentage, lights, handbrake, avg fuel etc.
- Fully customizable in-game UI using insim buttons.
- In-game options to customize settings like fuel warning, kmh/mph, automatic lights etc.
- Hotkeys can be pressed to interact with the insim.
Connection properties (host, port for insim to connect to) can be set in the <LFS_Companion>/Config/Connection.ini.
Important notice
For the insim to read data sent from your LFS (speed, fuel etc.), you need to go into the cfg.txt in your LFS folder and set the following:
OutGauge Mode 1 OutGauge Delay 1 OutGauge IP 127.0.0.1 OutGauge Port 30000 OutGauge ID 0

I've had a lot of fun with this vehicle. Hoping for it to be approved soon, good luck to you Evo. There's not a single thing i would like fixed/changed with this car. Great work.
I've made a few minor changes to the application, it should be a lot more stable and easier to use now:
v2 changelog:
- Seperated file name and file extension.
- When making the transfer, the file is copied over from source to target location instead of giving an error.
- Removed file name tags.
I've updated the first post with the newest files.
Move & Replace
I decided to get back into making skins, and came up with this piece of software to make the process a little bit easier. What it does is copying a file from one directory to another, with the click of a button.
I won't be going too in-depth of how to use it, as it fairly easy. But would just post it here in-case anyone could find it helpful.
I've attached some images on what it looks like.
Features
- Specify filename for what you would like to replace.
- From and to- directory can be changed to whatever you'd like.
- Can be minimized to tray to free space in your taskbar.
- Automatic override, for automatic move/replace between the specified folders.
- Move/replace manually with the click of a button.
- Copy to a 2nd output location, which can be done in preferences.
- New: Add an increment to the file specified. For each write the increment in the filename will increase by the specified amount in your preferences.

This program is universal, it doesn't have to move just image files.
Thats all really.
I've been wanting for a while to auto-start both LFSLazy and LFSDiscord when LFS is started. At first i made an app that launched LFS, then Lazy and then LFSDiscord. But was getting an error saying "invalid command line". Even tried setting the directory as work directory.
Seems like its not working with the LFS scripts either. So I've made a script with AHK. Same error though, LFSDiscord does give the error and does actually work even though the error shows.
I disagree with bringing back 900HP. I mostly drive on cruise servers, and for that this car is more than enough. I drive with wheel so i can manage the amount of power that i want it to output, so its okay. Its worse for mousedrivers. I think this car would be so much better around 400HP. But overall a great car to drive. For now my set is configured to handle corners pretty well.
- For keyboard and/or mouse users, its hard to tell what gear you're in if you're driving from within the cockpit.
- The car is fun to drive, but imo it has way too much power than necessary.
My thought exactly, just making the editor itself must have taken such a long time.
You can use an editor of your choice. You don't have to worry about that, they all do the same thing. I believe naming blender was just an example. Don't quote me on that, but that's what would make sense.
I haven't seen anyone mentioning mod restrictions. What about racing leagues? How can they prevent their players from using mods? Perhaps a setting in the config to disable them? Or if possible: Check if the modded car has increased power, so that players are still able to change the look of the car but cannot gain advantage over other competetors.
So how is it all set up? Do you just have 1 LFS account, and just connect to a LAN server with the same account whenever someone wants to play? Because you could buy x LFS S3 licenses for the amount of setups that you have and then just rent a server from the LFS website. That should help you keep going. If you decide to sell, do you ship to Norway?
I can't give away licenses per request, you'll have to join the giveaway like everyone else.
I don't have a date yet, but I'll have another giveaway ready soon.
Thread stays closed until its ready.
Great question. That sheet is supposed to keep track of all participants, I need to find a way to automate it. For now I'm manually adding usernames in that sheet.
But to clear things up, for now only demo users are allowed to join. I see no reason to give out s3 licenses now at this point.
We ended up on 22 participants, I'm honestly suprised we got this many. For those that registered a couple of days ago, I choose winners based on their statistics and how active they've been around on demo servers.
Winner is bowst. I'll message you shortly. Congratulations!
