But I think its true that we would get better used to the view from car if there were such things like parts of car in windows with a realistic mirror reflection. Its not so easy to determine distance if you see something quite off and also dont have nothing to compare it in your view.

Okay it is a bit off if you are looking at surface you clearly cant achieve that heating rate. But you cant think so much about cooling because the environment temperature is like 10 C here.

The start of gt2 was interesting for a 24h race. I would expect that at 1 lap race lol.

/offtopic

Boothy where can I find these textures or reflections or whatever it is please? It looks pretty good.

Thank You Team, Admins, Racers, Commentators. It was really nice event and I enjoyed it. Good to see some top racers passing and to race at unusual times with unusual psychic conditions.
Unfortunately my team - czechlfs.net could be like 2 laps better 1-2 positions if I didnt lost connections 3 times. We had not much luck in technical aspect.

Thank you. But you cant forget we nearly lost it. Because of Dennis LAST lap lol

Quote from kdo :Sorry, like all think of devs do nothing for lfs, but the tyre isnt the same
So before say its the same, look the picture before.
Dont care the devs do nothing. they only 3 guys. dont care its easy to made a game.

You will see, when S3 will be released, you will be very happy, i and hope you will regret what you say.

The difference I can see in these two images is that one is surface modeled and other is solid modeled. If we dont see goals behind it has not an value for any of us. I think you should have shown something that has a value on first look for someone who isnt actually a dev. A part of car with parts of track in background would make the community to shut up.

Quote from Sobis :Man, stop talking nonesence, LFS simulates these things...

1 - proof in photos.

2 - LFS simulates that big peak.
E: everything I said above is partly trouth. If you put more than 12%, LFS actually doesn't simulate idle consumption, only if you put 12% or less, it does. Strange...

Next time dont just insult others but think about it. Because what I said after some search still looks like true.

In LFS you have nearly zero consumption while having engine in idle. If you are starting you get some little peak so its better to run it without restart.

Dont know how many times you can restart a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine on a battery in RL.

I said that and most probably it isnt so much noticeable in these weight differences. The UFR has better cornering nearly because of the slicks. IMO the weight factor could be negleced in this case.
Also for slicks the weight factor maybe have much less role than it could be with some special rallycross offrad tires. There wouldnt have only a big role mechanical friction but also some shape contact factors.
Fuel consumption, H-shifter

Hello,

I found out some things that would be good to have them implemented in future.

Fuel consumption improvements:

-A car needs to consume some normal amount of fuel in idle currently its just not representative of a real car so the formula is disorded at these RPM
-While engine is starting there needs to be some big peak of fuel consumption
-A car is currently consuming fuel even if engine is off, applying throttle and your engine RPM is above idle RPM.

This would be great not just for racing but also for some other kind of races. Fuel save races.

H-shifter

-There should be some damage to gearbox and a sound if you are shifting without clutch and input shaft RPM / gear ratio != output shaft RPM

Not sure if it could be that because a normal car takes 0.9l/h idling. Dirivng at 5th gear 20 km/h idle should be like 5 litres/100km... Its zero... The fuel consumption should be reworked as I said before it even doesnt take any difference if you apply the throttle with shut down engine still rotating above idle rev.

Thought that. Its coded with some basic representative formula and in the extremes its probably very far from real.
So I should have added another rule that you should not use motor in idle revs as actuator. Or something like this.

Try econometrics from MadCatX. You will see that the calculations are funny in some ways. GTR engines are consuming at idle but road not (or not possible to see on 2 decimal). Also if you shut down the engine you will get still the same consumption depends of your throttle and revs...

No demo users would be allowed and driving a gtr fuel save is weird.

I am sorry guys who already uploaded it but I would like to pause it until I find the better way to make it more transparent and time affordable.

MadCatX econometer is a nice feature (found out some nice bugs in lfs fuel count methods with it)

So I will look for a better way.

Okey thanks. Didnt know about that but I would like to know how can I see consumption in .spr and it looks like lfs is checking language .txt files and rewriting them at start.
Or I am just tired

After some research I think cars arent consuming any fuel idling. Also the starter doesnt consume any fuel. Not 100% sure but most likely it is.

Engine switching off is ok. Guys IRL do that but because of what I wrote it has most probably no effect in LFS.

I am not sure of any way how I could know the amount of fuel so this is just about that we need to trust each other that he isnt childish.
Only look the way he driven that. It should be seen if someone doesnt deserve that.
It has to be fun at first place.

Quote from MadCatX :Just an idea, wouldn't it be easier (and more accurate) to let people drive say 5 laps and check their average consumption when they complete them (at the exact moment they cross the finish line)?

If you mean that you could see that in F12 its just not enough accurate.

BTW: I have created rules so the starter problem is here. If you get any more idea what can be cheated please say

Not so sure about that. I think it can be driven the best with H-shifter.
I would like to see some .sprs. I am not so sure how it can be cheated now so the rules are like this. We will see what guys will do

I hope you take it serious and drive it like IRL because you will publish that. Others can whine about your drive.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :It was (is?) possible to drive the XFG on a straight with just the ignition (quick on/off reps) even with no fuel, wonder if the same is possible with XRG..

Thats cheating and thats why I want .spr.
Fuel save competition. Who gets furthest?
L@gger

Hello guys,

Who can be the most economic driver in the LFS? Try to go the furthest on BL gp with XRG with 1% fuel and without mods.

This will be a lot of fun because you can take the look at driving from the other side - physical side. You will need to know the engine, car, terrain and some physical basics to get furthest.

What you have to do:
1. Set practice in single player mode.
2. Chose BL gp and XRG with 1% of fuel in tank.
3. Start from the pitlane (be sure that you have restarted race and you have not seen NOT RECORDING on the right)
4. Drive until you run out of fuel.
5. Stop and take .spr.
6. Upload .spr and post a link in this thread. Say where you stopped in which lap.

Rules:
Its not allowed to use starter as an actuator

Hope everyone will be serious without cheating. It is destroying the fun and with some little effort we can say if it was cheated.

If any questions please ask. Have fun

BTW:
Bavorak got and idea to have some 1% 5 laps races. The winner would be the guy that takes maximum out of the concrete amount of fuel in his tank. You wouldnt know the winner so easy in the race. You can win it also if you are the last because other can run out of fuel. This would need maybe some insim and more time spent on it. Just if someone get interested.

EDIT: Currently paused because of new year and shown problems.

Quote from J@tko :Centripetal force (i.e. Grip needed) = mv^2/r

But also the grip increases with the weight of the car because

Fn = m*g
Ffriction = f * Fn

There is suspension and other factors that are changing it but not dramatically and you can set up car for it.
The biggest role in cornering with different weight is most probably of tires.

Some guys here and devs arent so happy with people whining. I can imagine that its wrong feel but this would never happened if we werent told what we were. I hope next reports will be with some more pictures of what was the goal or so on. If you repost something from t-1 year this will happen.
We were disrespected and I feel like an idiot after report like this. Say the truth and dont be so concrete about time or better dont make a report that is not not concrete about anything and pasted.

I dont want to be so negative but I feel like all my hopes of how lfs would be in years are death. They were near death 3 years ago but now...

UFR can go through many corners without braking because of slicks and low weight, not downforce!

Fixed for ya...

I dont think so weight affects cornering. Or that it affects by a part.
