Huh? As far as I'm aware Spa has a contract to host the Belgian GP for a few more years at least. They just finished a huge renovation of the pits/paddock complex and a resurfacing of the circuit as well. Why would they spend all that money if they're going to lose the race?
As far as Silverstone goes, I honestly care more about the reprofiling of the circuit itself than the new pits/paddock complex. Hopefully they'll put Club back to the way it was before 1991. If necessary I'm sure they can increase the runoff rather than emasculating a formerly-great corner. And I hope they get rid off the Luffield complex mess at the end of the lap too, because it spoils the flow of what is mostly a very fast flowing track. Sector 1 is great.
Open up the exit of Stowe, get rid of the Vale left-hander to fix Club, and turn the Luffield complex into a single fast left-hander leading to Woodcote. Those changes would put Silverstone right up there with Spa and Suzuka.
It's between T3 and T4 at FE Green. After the chicane at the start of the lap, there's a short straight and a fairly tight left-hander, then another left-hander. This bit is between these two lefts.
How could it not be their fault? It isn't like most people are accidentally pressing the - button in order to remove others from the race. They're doing so intentionally and maliciously. Yes the fact that LFS allows such practices at all is a huge flaw and should be addressed ASAP, but in the meantime anyone who so blatantly ruins the races of other drivers should be punished in any way possible.
They probably just finished watching The Fast And The Furious. Hopefully the driver sustained severe testicular trauma, thereby rendering him unable to add his Stupid to the gene pool.
I think he meant years from now, when both Rosberg's (end of 2009) and Massa's (end of 2010) contracts will have expired.
Well the way things are going currently it'll be Kubica. Heidfeld usually outperformed his teammate in 2007. Nick's really quite underrated, IMO. I think he's sort of overlooked because he's quiet and unobjectionable. He just does his job without complaining or stirring up trouble.
That said, I hope Kubica steps it up this year because I want him to do well too.
HLVC should have invalidated the lap because he was facing backwards on the circuit. If he had just stayed wide on entry to get a bit of extra room, that would have been fine. It is normal for drivers starting a qualifying lap to take a different line through the final corner in order to gain a bit of extra speed.
Um, no. That isn't true at all. A thousand million = one billion. A million million = one trillion. This is the case everywhere, except for a few silly places which don't use a base 10 number system.
I've tried that before and gotten absolutely no response. It seems to only really be an issue on SS1 and Race 1, in which there are many drivers who simply aren't aware of issues like this and unintentionally start the race too soon. On the higher level servers most people know what's going on and are careful not to Ready up too soon, so this situation never occurs in the first place.
What do you mean? Is it currently impossible to implement such a delay?
In the upper-right corner near the # of laps and current position, it would be nice to have listed the current fastest lap of the race and the name of the driver who set it. Currently the only way to know this information is to constantly watch the chat for the announcement, which is obviously less than ideal.
Of course, it should be optional for the people who don't want more stuff on their screen.
Several times on CTRA servers, I have witnessed the following:
There are around 14-15 drivers on the server.
The track changes.
One driver hovers over the "join grid" button, clicks it as soon as possible, then immediately clicks Ready. Because he's the only one on the grid, 100% of the drivers are seen to be Ready, and the race starts. He's the only one there. One or two more drivers manage to join before the green lights, resulting in a race of three cars while the other 12 or so are forced to spectate.
This is simply unfair. Irrespective of how many drivers have clicked Ready, the game should allow a small amount of time for drivers to choose a setup and prepare for the race. 60 seconds seems more than adequate.
