This has been a strong Mclaren circuit in recent years, so I'll bet that they'll probably have a slight edge here. Ferrari have proved this year however, at Monaco especially, that they've closed the gap on these types of tracks. Their car seems more nimble and compliant on the curbs, which is important at Montreal.

The forecast is for possible rain on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday still looking uncertain.

It should be a very interesting weekend, especially considering I'll be watching it live! We'll be in the Turn 9 stands for quali and the race, but we'll probably check out a couple other spots during practice. Has anyone else ever been?

I'd bet on Hamilton to win, Kimi second, Heikki third. Massa well down or not in the points at all.

It has nothing to do with LFS and everything to do with your PC. It could be any number of things, including adware/spyware, overheating, or some background program which is hogging resources. Or maybe something else entirely.

Ugh, yes. As soon as it became obvious that he was on a three-stop, James Allen started calling it "Senna-like", and the race was less than 10 laps in. Martin should just reach across the booth and slap the shit out of that fool.

It was a good drive, but to directly compare it to Senna before it has even occured is ridiculous.

I can't wait until next year when the BBC gets the rights back. If they don't axe Allen and keep Brundle I'm going to be disappointed.

I've wondered the same thing myself, and have never heard a satisfactory answer. It seems somewhat deceptive to new customers, because it isn't clear when one buys S1 that there are virtually zero active servers for it.

I must say I'm disappointed to find out that I won't gain anything from obtaining a Gold license. I'm ~80% complete through Silver, but now that I know it won't do any good to put in the time to complete it, why bother? I don't care about points at all, but I'd like to not be denied access to GT1 cars. The amount of time it would take to get to Platinum is absurd. Most of the people who have very advanced licenses only got them under the old system whereby points were very easy to acquire. Currently Platinum means shit as far as driving ability, which is a flaw in the CTRA system itself - advanced licenses should be indicative of driving skill, not luck. Currently they just show who exploited the old system in a timely manner.

IMO when the all-new version of the X-system comes out, stats should be reset.

Sorry to be so cynical, but S2 is where most of the LFS population resides. The server choice is quite good for most hours of the day.

Remember kids, if you can't connect to the master server, try again in a few seconds. Chances are it'll work.

I read some stats a while ago which stated that being an ATC is the most stressful job in the world. Which measurements they used to calculate such a thing I haven't the slightest idea, but it's something to bear in mind. ATCs cannot make mistakes or have off-days. There's no reset button. The safety of thousands of people rests in your hands. It's an admirable field, but not for me at all.

Every car has multiple cameras on it; it's down to the director to choose the right ones at the right time. FOM has the raw onboard of Kimi's entire race from all cameras, but it will probably never go public.

http://www.f1technical.net/ is a great website.

The FBM is my favorite car for close, wheel-to-wheel battling. The LX6 is my favorite for its absolute driving feel. The balance is fantastic and it just seems to flow beautifully from bend to bend.

I honestly don't understand the big fuss about the development speed of this game. Even if the devs dropped LFS today and left it to die on the vine, I'd still play it for another couple years at least. The game is fun in its present form; as long as there are populated racing servers to join I'll still drive it and have a blast doing so.

I'm not saying there aren't aspects of this sim which couldn't be improved, but it's developed enough to feel complete. I'm a satisfied LFS customer. Anything extra the devs give me is a bonus to be appreciated.

The problem lies with the tire compounds themselves, not the blankets.

Bridgestone is the sole supplier and can do as they please. They should modify their compound so that the rubber works only fairly well in a wide temperature range, including straight off the racks in the garage. The cars would be a little bit slower, but not that much. Now that Michelin isn't forcing them to push everything to the absolute edge, they don't have to make tires that work brilliantly within a 5C range but which fall off hideously anywhere else.

The sometimes dangerous conditions of low pressure/temp during safety car periods would be eliminated, and of course there'd be no need for tire blankets.
