I've already explained, I'm buying a nice new PC for the rig so I would like to be able to play other games on it. I do not have the money or space to have a desk and another monitor sat next to it.

Or it could be something like: SS C, SS B, SS A. GTR C, GTR B, GTR A.

Good point on the arm in the air thing. The mouse will be fine since it feels natural to have your arm down by your side, as long as it isn't too low. I could mount the keyboard swinging thingy so it's quite near my lap.

I'm planning to build a racing rig in the Summer but since I'll be buying a nice new PC for it I want to be able to use it for stuff other than racing. I was thinking of FPS games mainly.

Now, my question, has anyone created a rig that they use for racing AND for playing other games, specifically FPS games?

I was thinking of how to do it and I came up with the idea of having the keyboard on a swing mount thingy so I can just pull it round in front of me after I've detached my wheel. I could also have the mouse down on the right hand side since the shifter will be on the left.

Has anyone else got any different ideas?

Use the dedicated server program instead of the full LFS. It should be on the main LFS site somewhere.

How do you expect a bit of fabric to protect you from around 50kg on your finger while traveling upwards of 50mph? Gloves are more for protecting against scratches, cuts and fire.

The first vid isn't funny IMO. The vid in your sig is though.

Or get everyone to upload two hotlaps. Add those two times together and then split the group in half. Then keep those two groups the same for all the races. Its only a short season so I don't think it would matter being stuck in one division. This would also need the two divisions to be run with separate points to make it fair.

Summary:
Everyone uploads 2 hotlaps from combos of your choice
Using something similar to the LFS Tracker thingy split the group in half.
Run the league as normal but with two divisions and both having equal point scoring chances.

The thing is people will pay these prices because they want to win. I'd pay those prices if I had the money. My dad has given me a budget of £1500 this year for 10 weekends. Then I've got a £500 engine rebuild on top of that. I just don't have the stupid amount of money the frontrunners have

EDIT: Saying I'd spend it on karting is a lie, I'd go into club-level single-seaters for at least a season.

Share of chassis price - £200 (based on a £2000 chassis over 10 races)
Share of engine(s) price - £200 (based on two £1000 engines over 10 races)
Fuel - £20(?) (control fuel - very high prices)
Entry fee for race - £80 (including Saturday practice)
Share of entry fee for series - £10 (its probably more than this)
Miscellaneous stuff - £100 (chains, sprockets, etc)

Total - £910

That figure seems a bit low for a weekend top-level karting to me. A lot of the front-runners have yearly budgets of £70,000 and more. And karting is meant to be the cheapest form of motorsport you can get

EDIT: Those prices above are just guesses and I forgot to include the share of a £100,000 motorhome

A rotax max will do about 90-100mph maximum. The FOX will do 145mph. They would probably corner at about the same speed (I think). That would make the FOX faster overall.

S14 DRIFT signed up today so Moo has a two-man team now.

I think smoke should come quicker/easier than it does now before we get more of it. For example when following someone karting and they lock the rears you usually get two trails of smoke coming out, even if the tyres were only locked for a tiny amount of time. In LFS you don't really get smoke from locked tyres
