You can't rush things. Get your team known in the Stock Hatch league (positively would be best ) and people will soon start joining. It takes time to setup a team.

Planning to own one of these next year

My dad has a Honda Accord EX 2.2 CTDi, brand new in August. It's a nice car, the only annoying thing is the window opening buttons, I keep leaning on it and making myself jump while we're on the motorway My mum has a 5-year-old Fiat Punto.

I usually get about 110 downstream which is 1Mb. Upgrading to 8mb in a week or so and, hopefully, 16mb in February.

Try Xmods, also 1/28th scale but a bit cheaper. Not so well made but there's tons of alloy upgrades that you can buy. The max speed for one of these (not stock) is about 55mph I think.

Just a couple of tips:

1) Stick with your 2500-mile requirement
2) If they're known on the forum chances are that they'll be alright drivers, but you can't be sure so give them a test on a server (use mine if you want, PM for details).
3) Stick at it! It isn't over til the fat lady sings (that might not mean a lot to you though :tilt

The team has been running for less than a day and you're worrying about not getting any people joining already?

My dad was planning to get an arcade racing game unit thing to put in the garage but I've convinced him to get a couple of PCs, a couple of G25s and a couple of Playseats (or similar).

The budget is about £1200 but I can probably squeeze him up to the £1600-1750 mark. Here's what I've priced up so far:

Playseat Evolution inc. gear shifter holder (349€ ~ £229) x 2
Logitech G25 (£147) x 2
Delivery in total (~£25.50)

Total £777.50

So that's about half the money taken up already. Now I need 2 computers, 2 monitors and two desks to put the monitors on (the desks can be cheap crappy things, as long as they won't fall apart from the weight of a monitor.

Any suggestions for:

a) 2 monitors - preferably 19" but flexible on that
b) 2 computers - preferably able to play something like rFactor on high(ish) settings (and of course LFS with everything on max with a decent frame rate (60+))
c) better seats than those I posted above (don't tell me to make them myself, I would prefer professionally made ones)

Disclaimer: This is a sound that I like and sounds at least semi-realistic from my experiences of the World Series By Renault. If you don't think it's realistic then fine, but I like it

I've made a nice sound for the FO8 but i get a bit of clipping with 11 AI - it sounds so good on the downshifts with a track-side camera though

I get this problem, the brake seems to randomly come on when you're not pressing it. It seems to go away after a while - i think thats your only option without voiding the warranty.

But you only have a kart license, right? The ARKS written test was stupidly easy.

I guess things that'll be covered in the written test will be stuff like flags and what to do in certain situations

League races - nervous before it starts but when the lights go green it all goes away (until I'm on my own). The same happens IRL, apart from the nerves stay away all race, even if I'm lapping on my own.

Public races - a bit nervous once it gets to the second to last lap and I'm first, or if I'm a couple of rows back on the inside, I really dont want to take people out at T1

The show was very good, there's nothing like 64 cylinders of stock cars thundering into the first turn. The Aston was awesome too, a V12 bouncing off its rev limiter for a good few seconds. The only disappointing bit was the start, but you'll see that tomorrow.

There's tons of stalls there giving out free stuff (keyrings, posters, pens, etc). Oh, and the Tesco 99 Octane stand giving out free beer. If there isn't someone giving out beer then wait around for a bit, they'll come out soon enough

Quite a few unis there (I don't remember even seeing a car at the Brunel stand, btw) who were giving out lots of info. A very nice Le Mans feature, tons of historic cars, some newer cars and the supercar paddock.

I didn't convince my parents to buy me a Ginetta but they're gonna let me hire one for a test day, I suppose it's good enough

EDIT: I don't think Ascari were there today, at least I didn't see them. Also in the oval racing section is a small drag racing section including a top fuel dragster, funny car, jet car and a junior dragster.

I'm getting my dad to drive me down tomorrow.
