If anyone would give me an invite I would be eternally grateful. I am a bit worried about the ratio though, I don't have anything to upload there, or is it possible to stay on by downloading and seeding?

Quote from dougie-lampkin :I disagree. If you want to host a Windows game, it's going to be easier to do so on a Windows server. Don't expect developers to provide native support for an OS that isn't designed to run games. Some do, but that's their choice. *nix systems are far more adept at networking deployments, like web servers, anyway

In what way is Windows more 'designed' to run games than the Unix or Unix-like operating systems?

The reason there is no Linux build is because there is nothing to be gained from creating one.

I just found out yesterday that I can travel 'round Europe when I hit 16 (with the consent of parents of course) so it is very likely I'll come to the 2010 meet. So please, no under-18 tracks.

Thieves' Highway

Classic.

Yellowbeard

This popped into mind after Time Bandits was mentioned. Another classic, probably not for everyone though.

It depends on the local broadcasters (they have a part in doing the broadcast) too somewhat.

Quote from The Very End :Ice Age 3 was ok, not a super movie but it was enjoyable. I watched it in cinema and 3D, the 3D effect sucked balls.. lol.. worst 3 effects ever.

There was a huge queue in the cinema and the Estonian and Russian (lots of russians in estonia) sessions were sold out, but I planned to go to the 2D English version, which had about 15 persons .

Ice Age 3
haven't been in cinema for years. It was certainly watchable and if you don't have anything better to do there's no reason to avoid it.

Das Boot's a must see and if you're at it get the uncut version, 5 hours of boring movie, one of my favourite movies.

Grand Theft Auto (1977)

One of the biggest surprises I have had in a while.
Haven't had such a blast watching a movie in a while either.
The whole movie is basically a car chase, it is the best I have ever seen.

Highly recommended to everyone who watches movies other than mainstream ones.

It doesn't take much thinking to take it to the police.

If someone just left 30 thousand in your taxi wouldn't you think the person would want it back? And surely it wouldn't be so hard to find the taxi driver.

What's beyond me is how someone can forget 30 000 in a car, if I'd have this kind of money with me, surely I wouldn't just 'forget it'.

Conclusion, taxi driver did the only thing he could and got a huge pile of money.

Le Diner De Cons - a nice stage comedy made into a movie. Not someting extraordinary but certainly worth a watch.

But for something extraordinary..

El Norte - a movie without a single flaw. absolutely fabolous sound!

Haven't posted for a while.
I won't be naming the mainstream stuff and I won't be naming most of the movies I liked and I won't be naming any movies by Godard.

Salaire de la peur, Le - Just BRILLIANT. Thriller, adventure and some action. An absolute must-watch for everyone that watches movies made before the year 2000.
Umberto D. - Another brilliant must-watch one. Italian Neorealist story of a man and his dog.

Ah, and i'll still have to wander into mainstream.

Ed Wood - One of the most "charismatic" movies i've watched in at least a year. This movie practically had me saying for the whole session - WHAT A MOVIE.

Armagetron Advanced

A free lightcycle game with brilliant multiplayer mode. Highly recommended. Not really underrated, just not well known.

I've been looking at PC games recently to find something i'm interested in.

So, here starts another stupid thread - games you think are good but aren't uberwellknown or high rated (by reviewers).

I'll start with XIII

Quote from Woz :If they stopped being supported I would move to Debian, but then I like Gnome as my desktop.

What do you mean 'then you like'? You can run Debian with Gnome just fine and get support too.

Quote from xaotik :Drat - time to rephrase: I've yet to encounter a movie that having read the book it was based on I felt it outdid it.

I've found too that reading the book before watching the movie is usually disappointing, unless we're talking about something like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. That absolutely ruined "Silence of the Lambs" for me. The movie just seemed average.

This week's movie : "Ladri di biciclette"

When S3 is released in the distant future, you will have to pay more to get S3 content (you can use the "new" game engine, but not the cars and tracks, at least that's what it was like for S1->S2)

Quote from Becky Rose :I got two family crests, my ancestors didn't serve the local baron, they where the local barons... I thought i'd die of shame before admitting that.

Did they order theirs from a paint artist?

Sorry.

Yes, I realise it's because of the background that has been cut out.
