Quote from Dajmin :Always loved Opera, been using it since about version 5. I got it for the mouse gestures

One of my favourite features now is the ability to Google from the address bar.

g <query> [return]

Lovely

In case you enter multiple words you don't even have to put the g in front .

Quote from NotAnIllusion :Thank you for the comprehensive explanation. I'm a lot wiser knowing that.

Well, I wasnt very sure myself so I didn't want to explain and make myself a fool.

But all sites just don't have the same domain.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :Not really because it works in a different way. Opera does a DNS lookup for each TLD (takes time to query) whereas in Firefox the shortcut just adds the rest without lookups (faster, more convenient).

Erm.. but it won't work that way.

Quote from JohnUK89 :Does that on plain enter here, so your point appears to be kinda moot

The more foolproof version is to create a bookmark and then enter its name.

Quote from bbman :Only problem: It doesn't load the page again if it's still in the cache... For most sites, that's ok, but not if you're browsing a large, fast paced forum like this one...

Tools->Preferences->Advanced->History->Check documents

Quote from ORION :Hmm where is the web developer tool bar, the realtime tidy validator, the noscript plugin? And even more important: no portableApps version... so you cant carry the whole browser with all settings and bookmarks on a usb stick. Couldnt live without that anymore

overall a good mainstream end user-oriented browser

nothing for a serious web developer though (well, for testing you must have it of course)

USB Stick: http://letwist.net/operator, http://opera-usb.com/operausben.htm, http://www.kejut.com/operaportable
Web Developer Bar: http://operawiki.info/WebDevToolbar, http://dev.opera.com/articles/view/opera-developer-tools/

Don't know anything about a realtime tidy validator..

Noscript - I'm not sure what it is, but try the options after pressin F12

I'm a Opera fanboy, I know..

Locking - up to 5 posts in thread
Delete thread - erm.. why?
Rename thread - freely until a certain post count and allow a mod to give a thread "Renaming rights" (This would be useful for leagues with one thread)

May I ask how many here actually are beginners (so that they really know something) in binary, it's kinda pointless to learn it though - we have other methods to do programs by now.

Quote from Woz :You must be using a VERY old S1 because credits died when S2 came out!

Hmm...
Quote from The Very End :I actually liked the old point system.
Was fun to drive and archive the faster cars as you got more experienced in the game.

That's not the point of LFS, isn't it. The final reason for taking out points was that Victor was getting ideas for using credits to upgrade lights, bumpers and othet tinystuff.

Reminds me of a guy in the Estonian LFS Forum who I asked why he thaught dragging in LFS was so awesome. He answered: When you accelerate you feel the adrenaline pumping trough your vains, going 180 km/h, it's so friggin awesome.

Made me think LFS really must be realistic.

I use total commander for the simplest-doitquick jobs (and it has integrated support for Winrar so all I see is the Winrar extracting window) and 7-zip for compressing and when I feel like it for uncompressing.

As the talk went to headphones - KOSS Porta pro is a very good choice. They look very alien as they're been manufactured without changes from the 80s, but they sound damn good. Well, the alien look sure gives you a strange look so everyone will be looking at you, but I like'em.

We (more specifically I) are making another installer, which will be a little more advanced - more specifically custom components (you can choose which mods to install at all) and second a mod enabler (which will allow you to enable-disable mods with just one click!)

I personally listen to all kinds of music. Except for absolutely no trance. A little rap (Linkin Park) and electrionics (Kraftwerk is the only one in fact). For other genres, I like'em all. Starting from Heavy Metal (Nirvana; Rammstein) and ending with Classic (Mozart;Bach.

Quote from PLAYLIFE :

1) The first corner. In playing almost any racing game the first unrealistic thing you notice is that with a bit of skill you can come from the back of the grid to almost the first place in the run to the first corner. Now that's just insulting. Really silly that is. I mean wtf is that about!??? Any game that calls itself a simulator can not have me starting from the last place in a Minardi and be in the lead into the first corner.:banghead: One of the few games I noticed that this was not so bad was Grand Prix Legends... I guess the problem comes from the AI being too overly cautious around other cars!?

That's because the AI choose the standard trajectory for the start, and leave the other side wide open.

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :Tarantino is probably one of the most overrated directors I have heard of. His films always seem extremely cheesy to me, and the guy is very annoying and geeky. Any interview I've seen him do is boring, he isnt funny, his stories are boring, and he acts like a 14 year old high on cocain.

Then you either haven't seen his movies or you have a bad taste. You can't say Pulp Fiction was a bad movie.. or Reservoir Dogs. They were disgusting, but certainly not bad
