The fact that most probably havent even tried the latest version of NFS yet.

I wonder how many of you actually tried that latest NFS version, the one with the legal racing?? It does have basic physics, but its very much let down by being developed for being driven with keyboard. In that respect it is not a simulator, but for being a keyboard game it's as good as they get. You need racing, not ricing to win, you can't take bends at a gazillion mph, you won't win by randomly crashing into everything.
But in general the LFS forum users are a flock of sheep, have one posting geek say that NFS sucks and the rest is sure to follow, so tisy, if you have an opinion that differs from the hurd, best thing is to keep it to yourself or prepare to get flamed.

Agreed totally that everybody has a right to express their own opinion. But it takes maturity to be able to agree to disagree. Having these discussions back and forth doesn't make you more of a man, Tristan, I think this is what you believe they do though.
What it does do is lower the standards of this forum. The guy posing the question wanted to know how LFS compares to real life. You have an opinion, others have theirs. Leave it at that and this can actually be worth a read.
I'll leave it at this now, so any useless rant at what l wrote will be left unanswered.

WTTC isn't a real racing series anyway, it's just entertainment, FWDs get favoured over RWDs, good drivers get punished with wheight ballast, now all this Diesel crap. Just enjoy the close racing and the crashes, forget about fairness and it's fun to watch

I just discovered this tool.
I'm building my own car, It's a MK indy (an LX ) with a GSXR-1000 engine. I started out with the LX6 as a base and changed the engine (torque curve etc) and the gearbox to real figures. Ballpark figures for a good 0-100 for this car is 4s (mine is not finished yet, but this is what I hear), what do I get in Bob's sim? 4.01s :o amazing! quarter mile in 14s, seems about right too, might be just a bit faster IRL.
Still it only proves how good this prog is and how close a LFS can get to a real car (I just took all the aero stuff off the LX6)!
In a later stage I want to setup my suspension properly, I'm sure this will help me.
This can be usefull in a typical discussion with peoples who want to put a fat V8 lump in in a very light chassis... You end up spinning the wheels in the 1st 3 gears and just adding useless mass.

When the revs start dropping quickly push and release the clutch to get the revs back up, once the tires get overheated, you'll have no problems keeping the spin going, you might even have to change up a gear.

They just cancelled the whole event instead of working around it because that way they got all their insurance money refunded. Money over passion - feels like a genuine FIA event...
