Just a note; this is purely a digital portfolio piece, not a real-world mod I want to do :P I just want to make sure I don't make myself look a fool for speccing a completely ludicrous engine for the concept.
If a 3-litre TT Flat-8 won't have the balls to be on par with the current Gallardo, then I'll have to rethink the drivetrain.
[EDIT] Also, if anyone has any references of contemporary flat engines that would be helpful as well. Aside from the Porsche flat 6s, I can't think of any other high-performance boxers on the market at the moment? I need to see some overall layout and detail shots of the drivetrain and packaging. I guess as far as the gearbox and rear suspension is concerned it wont be much different than a V engine, but references are always helpful.
I'm working on a portfolio piece at the moment, which involves an engine and a fast car. Nothing insane, just about Gallardo territory. I've been thinking of specifying a Flat-8 engine for it, for the sake of being a little different.
Now, what I want to know, is is a 3 litre twin turbo plausible for a mid range supercar? The current Gallardo is 5 litre N/A V10, but the MP4-12C is only a 3.8 twin turbo. Would it be plausible for a 3-litre 8 cylinder, twin turbo engine to compete with the likes of the Gallardo with current technology?
That's really all I need to know. Thanks for any input.
I can't think of any summer Olympic sports that I find interesting, to be honest.
The BMX is alright. Is there any downhill mountain biking? That'd be worth watching, potentially.
Of course, the winter games aren't much better. Only sports I like there are the bobsledding and skeleton, and ice hockey. Some of the snowboarding is ok, too.
I beat the game (alarmingly quickly, I might add) and you get those 'side-mission-tutorial-missions' throughout most of the story line. The story line itself is very, very short. The problem I have with it is the lack of cohesion. Not much is really explained. Also, in SR2, it seemed that the story line had more of an impact than in SR3. Killing a gang leader/prominent figure felt like a big deal, story-wise. In SR3 it's just another thing that you did. It doesn't seem to matter at all. As a story, it has absolutely no impact at all. The narrative was crap, if I'm honest.
There are things I enjoyed in it, but I still feel like SR2 was a better game overall. I will still get the next game in the series, for sure, as it'll always be good for a laugh.
Mad Sin will probably always be my favorite, but I love 'Slow Down You Grave Robbing Bastard' by The Meteors. Demented Are Go is pretty good, too. Nekromantix is fantastic live.
Aside from the amazing Streetlight Manifesto show I was at last year, Psychobilly shows are typically the most fun for me. The music is just so... fun. Completely campy, satirical and full of lunacy. I mean, who can't enjoy a song called "Who Killed the Cheerleader?"
Frankly, I was disappointed with this game. The second one was much better imo. This one just felt incomplete to me. I can't quite put my finger on why, though.
The story also seemed very disjointed. Half of it was just excuses to get you to play the side missions. Nothing really had any kind of real introduction, either.
