I played it a few times on a friend's XBox... I enjoyed leaping through that archway at the top of a hill at a roundabout with bodies flying all around me. That was enjoyable.
Just saw this now, very nice work! Only comment I have is that I currently (or rather, did when I was still playing) have a cracked road texture for FE. I don't remember who made it, but I felt that it fit the feel of the circuit very, very well. Any chance at getting a version of the road with a very pale asphalt (sun-bleached, as is common in the tropical countries) with a lot of cracks and maybe a bit of tar filling some of them? Would bring the road surface to life imho.
I never got GTAIV (I was a little late to the current-gen console party and everyone was already wasted) but I'll probably pick this one up. I'm sure I'll have as much fun with it as i did with GTA3, VC and SA. And Saints Row 2 (but not 3, that was crap).
Uhhm.... do you even understand the development of a video game, or the development model of pCARS? When you pay for a toolpack you are buying into a development cycle. They are giving you access to the development of the game. They're not releasing content to attract new customers, they're just developing a game and letting you watch in exchange for helping fund it.
If you want a finished game, you have to wait for it, or play something else. Clearly you have no idea what the point of what they're doing is.
I haven't given pCARS an honest go in a little while... Probably will pick it up again in a few weeks and see how the FFB has progressed. That was the major drawback it had last time I drove in it; it felt like most of the others.
rF2 with the old formula cars and LFS are still on top for FFB for me. I haven't played LFS in over a year, though, at least. I miss the FOX at SO...
I'm not sure a driver can race with only one eye; depth perception is very, very important in racing and with only one eye you essentially have no depth perception.
This has been a very bad few weeks for motorsports. Three drivers who've frctured vertebrae (though IIRC one was a cycling accident, not motorsports related), two more drivers hospitalized from incidents at Road America, Gronholm hospitalized after accident in the X-Games, and now this...
Glad to hear she's awake and alert. Hopefully there is no lasting damage from this.
I came across this one a few months ago, and I would absolutely LOVE to get my hands on it, but it's prohibitively expensive (IIRC copies are going for around $350USD) so I can't get it. Yet. It is in the plan, though.
Thanks for the link! I'll have to check it out when my boss leaves the office....
I never thought to look at Fuji (mostly because I hate every variant of I've seen with every fibre of my being), but I'll see what I can find for the old circuit! Hockenheim should have some nice stuff deep in the forest, too, and I'll look up Marlboro Raceway; never seen it. Thanks!
I've got a bunch of images from Rouen and LeMans (a little different than what I'm looking for, but still some nice corners on the old circuit). I have a little bit from the Mille Miglia but I should try to dig up some more pics from there, great suggestion
Montjuic is more urban than what I'm looking for (though still some nice spots there, too!) and I've never been a fan of Reims; all out in the middle of nowhere with no nice scenery.
I'm sure there's a whole bunch more but they're just not popping up in my head. Maybe I should look for more Bremgarten, too...
That is a good point; maybe that's the driving factor with the boost reduction in the first place? The P2P is just a 'you still get to use all of it.. sometimes...'
I've got a better idea to get Lotus on pace: Build a better engine.
I seriously don't get all this performance levelling BS. If you want your equipment to win, make it better. Simple as. Everyone has the same rulebook. All this faffing about with equalization just dilutes the sport. The whole foundation of it was the best car won, that's the point.
Thanks mate, there's a couple in there I haven't come across before.
I've probably got half of the public images from the 60s saved on my HDD in my inspiration folder LOL I love that site. I'd still like to order a print of Clark on the grid at Zandvoort for my father (Clark was his childhood hero) when funds allow me to...
Can anyone think of any other circuits for me to look up? I'm having trouble finding good pictures of Clermont-Ferrand, but I also can't think of any other similar circuits to look up; that's really my biggest hurdle at the moment.
I'm looking for images of historic circuits in the vein of Spa, Nurburgring, the original Watkins Glen Street Circuit, Clermont-Ferrand and the Solituderennen. Can anyone think of any other similar circuits? I'm looking for long, fast public road circuits (I'm aware Nurburgring isn't normal public roads, but you get the idea) from the mid 60s. I'm drawing a blank on similar circuits, but I know there are plenty more.
Images of road race motorcycle circuits are good, too, from that era; like the Isle of Man TT course and similar courses.
Anything you guys can provide (or even circuits you can name!) would be fantastic!
What if we don't have any kids? That's more the line in life I'm aiming for... at the moment, anyways.
Stick with it, though. Your wee ones will love you again once they finish college!
She makes an effort, but it's only the stuff that we go out to do (I've been to more concerts since I met her than I probably had in the previous 23 years of life). My own personal at home hobby stuff is what is getting the shaft; I've only fired up a sim once in the last 4 or 5 months probably. Not that I'm a recluse who needs his video games, but damnit I love driving vintage formula cars around a wet Spa (and into the trees, when appropriate).
