Quote from BeNoM :This mod is awesome! I feel like a 6 speed gearbox would be better suited to the VR38 than the current 7 speed which feels a bit strange.

Transmission tuning is coming soon for this. Close gear ratios will benefit the car specially for tight turns and slaloms

Quote from VladM :could there please be some kind of regulation regarding mods of which the sound clips? lfs distortion is not very pleasant to hear, and most mods seem to disregard that clipping is a thing when editing the engine sound

~responding here so i dont have to make a useless thread

I been helping out a lot of moders with their engine sounds, and my #1 priority is keeping the sounds from clipping. Maybe I’ll take time to make engine sounds for the better mods that’s have at least 3 stars or more

Quote from Mr. Apex :Apparently it IS acually possible to edit the weight in LFS editor. Now if I can just find the info again …

EDIT: hard to find. Someone asked exactly that question and someone (Scawen??) responded that you can adjust the mass of the engine. It was something about an american V8 being way too heavy for its size.

EDIT: Here's a YouTube link of an older 2.6l version of the engine:

I need a better video… engine is done but sound I’m not happy with it at all any better videos for reference?

Damn that’s the worst! Maybe just try to go back to XFR suspension lengths and then just extend arms here and there. Only hard part most likely is building from scratch a rear double wishbone. Yeah the exterior body was ambitious, but the dream look! I was just sad I didn’t see any more progress posted. I always wanted like a proper WRC car from LfS and now that we have the trophy truck this will be a fun addition to the off roaders list

I personally liked the previous wheels better for this mod.

Just wanted to let everyone know there will be a 2 day delay on some engines. Some family stuff came up yesterday and today is a Holiday in America “Thanksgiving Day”

Tomorrow I will be picking up where I left of (Friday)

Quote from TheSevenOfClubs :First of all, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Regarding the clutch, I did try using sequential in the car. I wasn't the best of ideas for this car; and I think that putting a sequential w/ ignition cut or a paddle shift gearbox is overkill for a car like this. So I reverted to H-pattern.

Regarding the bodywork, I am changing everything. The wing, the rims, the bumpers, etc. About the rims, I don't think that adding lugnuts would make a huge difference in looks, we'll see. And I am going to add different visual configurations, w/ spoiler, w/out spoiler, etc.

About the interior, yes I also am going to change the interior. Btw, do you think the gauges are any decent, or do they need to be changed aswell?

Cheers for the feedback.

Yeah I asked about this a while ago, but now we all know if you change power and not change transmission in LfS car the clutch won’t handle a lot of extra power, there is no clutch fix for now it’s ok…

The gauges can could look more integrated more flawlessly they look tacked on

@Scawen sorry I just wanted to get your attention, plus I thought I’d quote the patch because hopefully for next patch we get some more additions.

Yes turbo lag adjustments. Maybe even boost by gear. Superchargers added to the list

Quote from Scawen :EDIT by Scawen: why did you quote my entire post about Test Patch W47 then ask about something completely different?

Will there be any changes or additions to the engine moding part of the system? Rev limiter while in N like a launch control. Rev bounce where you can select how much RPMs drop once hitting red line. Cam cross over like Vtec/VVTi. Rotary engines?

Just want to put some input here,

I do agree to a few things you mentioned like the TransAm car doesn’t need slicks, road supers match the era more and is still gripped enough and felt fun.

Force feedback between mods will always be there, due to weight, weight distribution, front suspension type, and steering rack. But yes I agree some cars have way too light steering, and some guys have fixed that, that’s what the feedback/comment section is for

Jake_Blasted F1 car is near perfect I’m sorry to say my friend, but F1 steering is very twitchy and with very minimal lock. F1 cars are about precision and any steering input will move the car around.

I feel like your expectations are too high from people that are moders not developers. That’s why there’s only a handful of staff picked cars. That’s why these are WIP not finished mods. This is till new give it some time.

Quote from Mr. Apex :Another essential engine: OS Giken TC24-B1Z

3208cc. L28 cylinder block
Power: 420 PS@9’000 RPM
Torque: 40kgf/8000 RPM
Maximum revs: 10’000 RPM
DOHC 24 valve

Note the gear-driven camshafts Big grin

Listen to it revving to 10K:

This is another perfect example! I should be getting to your V8 next in line. This L28 is 5 in line right now I just finished 3 yesterday 🙂

Engine: why not change to more of a JDM sound like a JZ or a RB?

Tire sizes should match power and weight: 265 rear and lower weight to 2800-3000 lbs without fuel or driver. Tires don’t last long and car feels too slow/heavy

I think this is more like it. inline8_Buick is the engine file, then insert 1920sbuick_iL8 in the

Quote from superlame :Try replacing the .eng file you made, with the one thats inside the .7z file that Modeler exports.

Edit: Have you tried [Transmission / Audio] and load from there? Also the button "Load ENG inside "Edit Engine"is for configuration for the engine specifications - example - You make 2JZ Engine, click "save ENG" then you can load this .ENG configuration 2jz engine to any car.

Picture of where the .eng SOUND file is loaded
Path: LFS_EDITOR/data/engine

Yes this is correct transmission/audio import audio file you created in “shift A” settings

I asked, but no one has responded or made an update for it yet. I made an LS3 today and it was like 90KG heavier than it was supposed to. You can adjust Mass for: body, battery, and fuel tank. Other object will be affected by amount of objects used and size (like suspension or wheels) same with engine mass will be affected by displacement automatically calculated by game…

Quote from Cimanu :Last little update for now - added a roller door to the cargo config. I'd like to show you what's in there but without it falling out.

Also finally changed the rear plate to yellow.

If I end up making the flatbed then that one will probably get a little more power as it will have to move some real weight around.

Can you actually drive a car in there if the cargo door is open and there is no load in the back? Cause that would be sick!

This was disappointing to drive. Car is too light for only 265 rear tires and 225 front. Maybe bump weight to around 2800 Lbs and 235/40R18 front and 265/35R18 rear. Engine tuning needs more work. I think a higher red line would benefit 8,000rpms.
