Thanks, I'll give it a try when my dev kit arrives, but I think the support broke in some newer version of the file. That's why it would be handy to have the one that works for sure.

Official 4.2 with Sense 5 is out as an OTA update in Finland I think, should be spreading out elsewhere soon enough.

I love 4.3 for fstrim though, makes everything much snappier.

Interview with Lazlow about GTA V.

Also, I decrypted the "leaked" PSN .pkg and the trophies file can be opened with any normal text editor. All the achievements are there to read, even the ones normally hidden until completed. So, there's something to do if someone is bored and doesn't mind possible spoilers.

Quote from Keling :The cars with 90G's turning don't run player's physics until you hit them. This is not a "have some weight" problem.

It's not the AI physics alone that are messed up in the classic GTA's, try driving something like the Cheetah in VC, and you'll see it moves like it's on rails with near infinite grip and no body roll at all. It's a problem of minimal weight and over exaggerated grip in relation to the weight. The physics in those games are simply laughable at best, it's a pity people who don't understand physics or driving in general hated GTA IV's driving, I just hope Rockstar didn't listen to them too much while making GTA V.

Quote from Keling :I'm not sure why people keep saying "I can't feel the weight, bad physics" in driving games. If the model has no weight the car simply won't drive at all.

Because a 1-2 ton car doesn't simply move about like it weighs 50kg.

As long as the cars will have some weight in GTA V (Unlike in 3/VC/SA) then I'll be happy with it. Those three games were so annoying when you were driving along merrily and some random car does a sudden impossible turn at 90G's with infinite grip right in to you.

HTC One X underclocked to 1.2 GHz, one of the lowest clocked X's. I'm proud.

I have like 3 permament icons in the desktop, and otherwise just use it as a quick storage buffer for video renders and Photoshop project files.

Otherwise, start menu for everything else.

Its awesome!

4960X? Why extreme?

Never saw the value in it, but I guess there's a reason...

Didn't bother turning side monitors on, so center only.

From what I've heard and read, the nausea actually mostly comes from the lag of turning your head and the delay of the rendered image changing, not the 3D effect in itself.

That's why the devs made this: https://www.oculusvr.com/pre-order/latency-tester/

You really wouldn't want to turn the 3D off, as it's pretty much the whole point of the Rift and it's the only scenario so far where "3D" has been done right - rather than a useless gimmick like 3D movies.

Having a scene rendered from a different viewpoint for each eye is the only way I can see 3D having any meaningful purpose, and that's how the Rift does it.

Doesn't it have the standard 2.5" HDD slot though? I think all PS3's have it.

TBH I'd really avoid the super slim, it's such a badly built rattling piece of crap. The old fat models are the ones with the best build quality, but they are also the ones with the biggest risk of YLOD. Late model slims are the best compromise of build quality/noise/reliability if you ask me.

On another offtopic note, anyone got suggestions for a 360 style gamepad for PS3? The best one I could find is the MLG controller, but it's so damn expensive. I can't stand the PS3 triggers, and as GTA V will be using them for car controls, something must be done.

Slims are pretty much safe buys, though supposedly the last model before super slim was slightly worse than the previous slim (smaller heatsink with smaller fan, noisier BD drive) but it's still way better than the super slim.

Quote from S3ANPukekoh3 :I'm running it on an i5 ultrabook and it's a bit more like watching a slideshow than anything

Not sure why, it runs gta 4 fine and I've never had problems running iBuyersremorse or Netkar Pro on it

Well, there's yer problem.

Though I can't really see GTA 4 running well on an ultrabook either.

PS3 slims go for like 100 euros these days, even with some games included.
