So. Episode 9 happened.

I sort of knew what was coming up, but ended up feeling like this after it ended:

On another note, can't wait to get The Rains of Castamere cello version with the season 3 soundtrack tomorrow.

Quote from R3DMAN :my thinking, be it right or wrong was to get the hottest stuff outside the case and let the case sort out the other components. having the rad externally means none of the heat generated goes anywhere near the other components so it really keeps it very cool inside there. plus, i can open the window as well which is just like having the PC outside.

I've done my own/customer builds like this, no problems with temps even on 3970X/7970's and can keep everything mounted inside:

But it doesn't really matter, if you don't care about having the rad outside the case.

Wouldn't mounting it to the rear fan position had the same result?

Should really mount the H100 to the top, if your case allows that.

Got a new Vita for 59€... <3 discount coupons!

Also got a couple memory cards from an auction for it.

Atleast in Finland you can find a JDM import that might require some touching up for around 4-5k€, a good LHD RX-7 is 10k€ more, they're also much more rare than JDM cars.

Quote from CodeLyoko1 :micro atx uses 4 less pins, my motherboard only had 20 because of that and a ATX PSU uses 24

You must have an ancient motherboard then, and it's not a micro ATX thing, as even old full size ATX boards used to have 20 pins on them. Anyhow, that's why the 24-pin ATX plug from the power supply can be separated to support legacy motherboards:

Well, Micro ATX motherboards have totally standard power supply connections, so that doesn't make any sense. Even most Mini ITX mobos have 100% standard ATX power connections, with the exception of the ones meant purely for HTPC use that only have a single 12v DC jack in the rear with the rest of the I/O.

Edit: Mini ATX isn't the same uATX (micro ATX).

Love KTM's, totally miss my old 520 EXC... 4th gear wheelie with the flick of a throttle, oknp.

I think you're mixing up Mini-ITX form factor power supplies with uATX, because there's no such thing as a uATX PSU.

Were you bothered by the pixel grid of the screen? Haven't had the possibility of trying Rift myself yet, but apparently it looks like this.

Will wait for a Rift with a 1440p screen before jumping in, even though it's very tempting to pull the trigger on a dev kit.

Quote from bishtop :lol ive done that on blackwood with fbm alone since 2010 and if what i was saying based on what your proposing then id say that ive won ,so good luck.take a look at the stats yourself of licensed racers and they shows that nothing has changed much since back then. it shows its best time was probably 2006ish which it decreases a bit between then and now but still with that decrease its higher than 2003-6

2003-present

http://www.lfsworld.net/?win=h ... censed_history&t=3850

there is an increase comparing the present day and 2003 itself with the only really noticable time where it was that much higher was approx 2006-2007

This has nothing to do with the fact that you're attacking people purely based on their LFSW stats who are expressing their opinions. The thing that really annoys me are the "newbies" jumping in on the old dogs who have contributed to LFS in the form of leagues, organised races, drift events, movies, screenshots, servers, plugins, advertising... it's like telling your old man how to bang a woman.

Quote from bishtop :i only bring stats into it when i believe it shows that its most probable that if s3 was released you would find something to pick at because its obvious you have no interest in online racing or very little.il say that for you also an average of 23 laps a year online over the past 10 years shows you know little about lfs online unless you just sit there without racing if the following is your account, im sure if it was good for back in the day then why didnt you play it that much

I've done most of my laps in 2004-2007, when LFS along with its community was living its golden years. You really should get your head out of the sand, start thinking straight and take some more math skill lessons, because it seems to be quite badly lacking as sinbad pointed out.

Quote from bishtop :

the lowest lap-year and race-win ratio so i can kind of understand why you do not like lfs but neverless you are entitled an opinion the same as everyone just never try and say that you have ever really given lfs a chance though

Funny enough that a drifter doesn't complete many races. If you insist on hanging to pointless stats, you should rather focus on races finished/won ratio. Judging someone by how many laps or races he has done is one of the most stupid things I have seen on this forum for a long time.

The community doesn't have access, you mean.

If a handful of beta testers have a new version, that's hardly helpful to keep the spirits high in the community - which indie games rely on.

Quote from bishtop :...you have tried it very very little with 6747 laps since 2003 and the last time being nov 2012 and you never know you probably wont have such an incorrect opinion...

The fact remains, he has been around for much longer than you have in the LFS scene and therefore also knows how much better things used to be in the old days, back when the development wasn't stagnated.

Since when are laps some kind of indication of skill, or more to the point, whether or not a persons opinion and thoughts are valid or not anyhow? As far as I know, offline stats/hotlap mileage still aren't being pushed to LFSW either.

Stölzel better go do 50000 laps at Kyoto Oval ASAP!

GT 620 is the killer there, having a 1GB framebuffer is completely irrelevant when the GPU itself is so slow. It's simply useless for any gaming other than solitaire.

Quote from DrBen :
However: The power-aspect from the previous posts is relevant. As much as is the problem of cooling. These pre-built systems are usually meant to be easily servicable // NOT easily upgradable.

The power your new gfx-card will suck-in in addition to what the rest of the machine is already consuming will need to be cooled off, as well. If not: Prepair for some major headaches either because of constant overheat-induced rebooting/self-throttling (which means your card's potential 'power' will remain un-tapped and - literally - wasted) OR because of the excess noise of ramped-up fan-speeds.

The GTX 660 card he linked has a blower type cooler, so his internal case temperatures will change very little if at all with it, the case temps might even improve if the current card/cooler isn't a blower design.

Even non-reference third party coolers like Asus DirectCU that dump 100% of the heat inside wouldn't bring any heat issues unless they're being run in SLI.

Get a beefier, high quality PSU (650W Seasonic is enough for a single GPU system) and wait a month if you can. New Nvidia kepler refresh cards are just around the corner, the review NDA is ending this week infact. The 660 price will drop aswell since stores will sell out the remaining stock of old cards with discounts.

Quote from Hyperactive :The cockpit view in gt5 was always unplayable for me because of the low fps, slow responsiveness of the car, random rubber neck movement and general lack of feedback about what the car was doing.

The cockpit shake totally killed the view for me, it was unplayable when driving over 60km/h.

Quote from Franky.S :well,
confirmed by kaz himself gt6 will be compatible with PS3, PC, tablet and smart phone.

more detailed info here:

That just means web browser based lap timings etc, just like B-spec races can now be controlled from browser in GT5.
