Does anyone realize that we're paying for the service of downloading? I think Scawen put it like this: The new skins are gonna eat up more bandwidth so we're gonna chage a small fee for the increased usage of the servers.

I guess people just have different ways of looking at it. Paying for skins vs. paying for BW

Hey guys, since these new test patches have been released after playing them and doing multiplayer I cant seem to find anyone online. What patch are most people running so i can rejoin the fun. Nobody was on w9 or w17 last time i checked but plenty of empty servers

is that really a lx8 gtr? it only looks like a regular lx6 in the pic. Also, in the shop page i see no lx anything

wow, thanks davo. Considering I've been around for almost 4 years makes me a complete noob. You think that you higher post count makes you superior or something? I said, even in the thead title, that it wasn't a movie. Since you knew what it was why did even bother replying? While some of you will say that this doesnt belong here, I couldn't think of another secton to post it under. I was on a server running KY 2r and the FZ50. I thought it was a great combo and considering I haven't been playing that much and thoguht my skills had lapsed a bit I fell into a rhythm after a bit.

This is just a spr of some hotlapping I did not 5 minutes ago (from time of post obviously). Thought I did some decent driving and I believe lap 7 or 8 is when I start to slide it around top gear style.


While I know this will fall onto deaf ears, please dont comment if you are just trashing what you saw or the fact that it's only a replay. I dont want to hear anything bad about drifting/drifters and how they cant race and vice versa. None of the typical BS PLEASE.

Another case of someone wanting to participate with out knowing what's really going on

As an ok racer/drifter (not great at either) I feel that these hardcore racers can make this board even worse with comments such as these. When i say worse, I mean that the demo racers who enjoy drifting get flamed for being 'noobs' or 'unskilled' when only wanting help and all these guys who have been around in LFS for a long time, have tons of posts and think that thier $.02 is worth more than someone elses $.02. I understand why there are alot of demo drifters. LFS is the only game where drifting feels close to what it should. I discovered that the first time I downloaded the demo WAY back in the day. (still miss unpopable tires).

A drifting section would be a good idea for people who want the access to all of the knowledgable people in here but dont want to get hounded by these racing trolls who think "either you race or you shoot yourself in the head for wanting to do anything besides race in LFS"

Ok, so my birthday a week ago and my friend got me a 17" dell flat panel. well, it's at his house but he told me that he got it for me. I currently have a viewsonic 19" crt. What could i use this extra monitor for because i couldnt do a dual monitor setup for racing due to the size difference? I have an ATI x800 pro that supports dual monitors at different res and refresh and wanted some ideas. ALSO, i'm not simply talking about LFS but everything else as well

ps-does it make me look like a noob with only 80 posts? I've been here for a while (aug 2004 ) and always wondered that.

correct, the brain "see's" the different images coming from each eye and gives you perspective through the magic of crainial logistics (term i just thoguht of to mean how the brain works:shrug

i did an experiment with this. gave the AI every type of car i could and filled them up with 50% fuel and told them to practic on BL. By far the worst car on fuel is the BF1 and with out a doubt the best is UF1. that isnt too suprosing tho. it was fun and good for testin out my new cpu to handle 12 ai's for a decent period of time

Well, if you want more power use LFSTweak. If you want the exhaust changed type "/edit_eng" then press shift+a and you can change the exhaust sound. As for the body kits, you like xrt? go drive xrr j/k. That isnt, probably ever, going to be a feature of LFS. I can certainly understand loving lfs but wanting those features but there isnt a game to get the physics and modding decent. NFS is fun and you can mod the crap outta your car, forza on xbox is the same way but both lack in the driving aspect. I'm still waiting on a Gran Turismo PC port....
